I haven't gotten it yet but i have seen it in action so, the real question is do you think its worth getting? And do you think the game designers did a good job? )if no then how would you do it?)

Oh yes, it's worth it. Playing the game through with the superflame is so much fun. And I think Insomniac did an excellent job with this game, but it is my favorite so I'm a bit biased.

You can replay the game on another file with the superflame, it's awesome, it's like unlocking a cheat. |

Yes it is so satisfying to be able to beat the game with the superflame, you'll find that some of the challenges, and all the bosses are easier now. Even some if not most of the levels are easier too. |

Getting the skill points is a lot easier this way, too.

so if you start a new game after completing everything you get permanent superflame? thats awesome!
but if you go to the permanent superflame portal in dragon shores and get super flameand then go to another level, do you still have it?

I loved the using the Superflame cheat on a new saved game fille because:
Attacking those enemies that like to squish Spyro with objects like scythes or hammers, Spyro can now attack them from a distance without fear of being hit. In Aquaria Towers, Spyro can Superflame the sharks so he doesn't have to buy the shark submarine from Moneybags. Speedways are easier and quicker to complete because Spyro doesn't have to chase moving items such as boats as much. Crush and Gulp can be defeated very easily. Supercharge challanges such as the one in Fracture Hills and that pumpkin smashing challenge in Robotica Farms can be completed very easily and quickly. In Fracture Hills, escorting that potion maker is easy because Spyro can superflame the Earthshapers beforehand. This also means that when talking to Hunter a second time, the second orb can be obtained straight away. In Mystic Marsh, there is no need for Spyro to chase them sparkplug theives, he just needs to aim at them and instantly Superflame them from a distance! Treasure chests that require finding and flaming a rocket to open them can be opened straight away. Ripto can be defeated quicker and easier. I could list many more advantages, but that would be just plain BORING!

Well say you started a new game with it, all you have to do is load a file with regular flame, then quit and make a new game. You should have the regular flame after that.

However, it's hard NOT to start with it barring a total deletion of the Spyro 2 save files.

I was crap at the speedways so, I couldn't get the last orbs for Superflame. But it is pretty cool.

The speedways are all about routing it out. Yes, there is a correct way to go about beating them.

In nearly every speedway I always have about two or three seconds left to spare at the end, lol.

I might try again at some point. It's funny how when I was younger, I found the boss battles difficult and the speedways. But now the bosses are fun. Still have to try the speedways. xD

I could never beat the bosses without cheating, luckily back then I had a cheat CD to help, I don't need it now though, I find the game to be boring with cheats. |

I used to get my Dad to help me. I remember that I got past Crush and that's when I stopped playing. Then a few years later, I found it and completed it myself. But then I accidentally deleted the save me and my Dad did so I had to start again.

Something like that happened to me the first time I played Spyro 2, first off, we never had a cheat CD, I done all the levels in the first home world apart from the speedway, back then I hated them. Anyway, I went to fight Crush and found it so difficult and in the end my Dad played it and completed it pretty easily, I got to the second world and that's when I found it difficult to play, and later on got a cheat CD and began to cheat, I don't need to now though. |

Then I ended up giving away my PS2 and save card. Just recently I ended up buying a PS1 and I lost my copy of Gateway to Glimmer so I had to buy that too. And I managed to complete it, not 100% complete but most of it.
Spyro is more than a game to me. Glimmer is special to me and always will be part of my childhood. Not just because I grew up with the game, for other reasons.

Yes! I didn't mind when I had to start all over again. It doesn't bother me because I like it so much. The game is funny at parts, especially the cutscenes.

Yeah. For Ocean speedway, when doing for boats, fly INTO their path, so that they just drive at you and make you save precious time.
