Spamming is much slower though, especially in TEN, and if you're someone who complains about cheap deaths in TEN, it's probably because you fight cheaply yoourself, by spammong. Remember, in a game like a LoS, it's only a button masher if you play it like one. It's much handier to come up with combos and think things through.

Also, what Jackson said is also true. Cynder's Shadow Strike actually has the bonus effect of confusing enemies, making them attack each other.

riight...but by doing that you're just complicating things for yourself when you can just beat down enemies by tapping one button over and over again =/ it IS a button masher, but you are free to combine different attacks..doesn't make much of a difference tho ...now they could've added some variety by making some enemies vulnerable to only specific elemental attacks and etc...for that you'd have to think things through atleast a bit...smilie

Tapping the same button over and over is extremely slow, and leaves you open to much more damage. By using actual strategy, you take much less damage, and save much more time. And again, no such thing as button mashing games, only button mashing players.

And they did do a lot of that. Many enemies have elemental weaknesses.

Not gonna happen either.

Not to hurt your feelings, but it is extremely unlikely that TLoS will ever have another game.

Agreed.

I think you're chatting rubbish, you still have to button mash a lot of buttons to get a combo. I thought the enemies had a elemental weakness in DOTD anyway, it still takes forever to kill them.

I remember at the end of TEN, right before the battle with Gaul, there was an enemy spawner battle in the middle of a ring, and instead of fighting the right way, I just glided off to the side where there were some endless green crystals, and just shot electric balls onto the ring from a point that the bad guys couldn't reach me.

I remember that. I found that god aweful and ridiculous. The enemies just seemed endless and kept on coming. It took me ages to do that part (I didn't die, but it still took a along time).

The problem with TLOS is the fact that it goes too far with the enemies. Other games work fine with that sort of thing, but that's because they have a good combat system to maintain it. TLOS doesn't have a good combat system to support the amount of enemies it has (the combat was plain too simple. You just mash one button to do most of the combat), thus making the games boring, repetitive and tiring.

Hack and slash/beat em up games are only good if the combat system is great.

(Referring to TEN) - To get really good, effective, long combos, you need to think while you fight, rather than just mash the A button. It might be difficult when you start the game, as you just have Level 1 Fire, but even that's not much of a hindrance. And I don't see why everyone says the enemies take ages to defeat in DotD. Heck, even the elite enemies can be beaten very quickly if done right.

And I don't find that one room difficult or long at all anymore.

Actually, Activision have already stated that Skylander's is a brand new franchise. Spyro is just a playable cameo, for extra publicity.

They said Spyro may go off on his own series if it does well. Here's to hoping it does.

Agreed.

And, reading earlier posts, I don't think Spyro is necessarily going to stay tied up with Skylanders and be Skylander-related in his next game. They could get new people to make the game or whatever, and it could be totally different. Who knows what they'll do from here at this point.
