Oh, if only! There was a recent big kerfluffle with a Cyndork who was harassing at least two artists and spamming several websites. D: It happened just a couple days ago, but boy was it crazy. Reminded me of the bad old days. D:

I think if Cynder hadn't been wearing bondage jewelry, at least, the SxC thing that came out of DotD might not have been too bad. But, as it is, it just skeeves me out. And, too, as an adult who's been in love several times, that last bit in DotD rings 100% false, cheesy, and pandering for me. I much preferred the cute "it's a future possibility" with fat little ANB/TEN S and C over the "it happened and you will LIKE IT! *PUNCH!*" with older-looking-but-still-very-obviously-baby-dragons S and C.

Oh....well, I usually am not too bothered about when stuff like that happens. I think I know why though...

The jewelery didn't really bother me, except for the fact that the cutscene with her putting it on was not ready in time. I WANTED TO SEE IT. ;__;
I'm not usually too fussy when it comes to relationships in stories. I didn't really expect it to be a realistic potrayal of love at all, seeing as it's just a kids/family game. And, I think we can't define what "realistic" love is, because people have different perceptions due to different experiences, much like how we all have different perceptions as to what love itself is.

Though it was fun specualting before it became canon.

There was no cutscene of her putting it on. :/ All we got was Mike Graham telling us on the old VUG forums that they didn't have time to explain it and she's wearing them to overcome her past (what?! My "makes no freakin' sense" alarms went off again).

Now, see, that's why we have so many crappy love stories. Even when I was a kid, I despised hackneyed relationships and I think kids deserve better than crap like that. I've seen really well developed, fantastic, plausible love stories in kids' media, so that's no excuse at all.

Eh...I'm pretty sure we all know that two little kids who haven't even known each other for two weeks and don't show a single iota of interest in one another save for one line isn't love.

It was a lot more fun speculating. All the fanfic was a lot better then, too. Now it's all SxC drivel. Bleagh. D:

I didn't like romance at all when I was a kid, and through half of my teens. In fact, I only got interested in love stories because of SxC. Since then, I have actually watched quite a few romance movies. Don't know what the heck has gotten into me.

I do know they are many great love stories in kids' media, but what I meant was, that a lot of them I have seen were uninteresting, and as a result, I didn't personally expect anything great out of any love stories that may have popped up in LoS. I didn't even care for SxC at first. But the pairing grew on me after a while. Not because of what was blatantly shown in the games (I personally think LoS was too short a series for any sort of interesting love stories to be shown in plain view, as most of the cutscenes were focused on the good vs. evil plot, and humour), but because of some more underlying things I picked up on (may or may not be intentional on the creator's part).

I noticed points where they seemed to be showing interest, but that's just me.

Admittedly, I'm gulity of that.

I think it's funny to imagine the ways SxC wouldn't work out.

And, oddly, I was one of the first SxC supporters (had to defend it a lot back in the day) but DotD just soured it for me by making it appear so immature. I did notice little things in TEN that hinted at Spyro liking Cynder, at the very least, and it was fun to imagine how that might grow in years to come. Then all hints of it were dropped in DotD until Cynder just came out of left field with that line. D: After that, it became a lot more fun to imagine she was talking to herself and whispering her feelings for Sparx when she thought she was going to die.

That was a really cute story, SB. I rather liked it and I like seeing angry Cynder kicking Spyro's butt for being a brat (because he is). The kiss was too uncomfortable for me to read (for a lot of reasons), but the rest of it was neat and I liked that it wasn't 100% about her love for Spyro.

Hee, I'm with you, Skorpion. I've come up with some really convoluted ideas (including one in which they have a daughter through magic even though they're completely unaware and aren't interested in each other that way because spirits don't do that ).

I like the more comical ones though, like my favorite, Spyro is not "man enough", it means exactly what you think it means.

In TEN, the hints were obvious. I seen a few things in DotD, but they are a lot harder to pick up on.

As for the kiss, I normally wouldn't do anything like that, but I had to, or else I would not even of been able to fully potray the idea I was presenting(the fact that the two of them probably don't understand love, and how it's expressed, despite the fact they are in love). HA! Frankly, I was always under that assumption (sorry LoSpyro fans, he's more than just a little bit of a pansy). I've written bits and pieces of a story in which Cynder sleeps with everyone on the planet except Spyro and Malefor (it, ah, is not fit for anyone to see and I did it more for lulz and to tick of Cyndorks than anything else).

Yep, all along she meant Sparx. I need to finish "A Star at Night", which uses in-game scenes to make a plausible case for a good relationship between them. It was fun and sweet to write.

No worries. I'm a quirky person and it wasn't anything you did that made it uncomfortable for me (lol, that sounds terrible ). I had an idea years ago for a story in which Cynder is basically hitting on Spyro (because it's what she grew up around and she doesn't understand friendship) and it scares the snot out of him because he doesn't know what she's doing. When he finally figures it out, it kind of breaks his heart to realize how awful her childhood was compared to his. I think this was either in one of the four or five really dark LoS universe spin-offs I had, or it was come up with before I wrote the Cynder 100 and established that her life wasn't all bad thanks to Gaul being a sort of father to her.

His death needs rewriting! It was so stupid! Died in a fire...! *wanders off snarling and muttering*

Which one? Because the only one I ever finished and put on-line is the Cynder 100 (though I did draw up a ref sheet for Spyro and Cynder's magic-kid, Spira; she's a scale-less, wingless asthmatic who likes to make machines ).

You'd be surprised. Sometimes the people who look the worst enemies on the outside really love each other a lot. Also, mortal enemies is fandom speak for true love. And that parting scene in DotD was just full of "I love you, don't go!" subtext for someone well versed in looking for it.

Most of it is in an archive that can be bought by anyone over 18. I had all of it pulled from the 'net a while ago and if it's still up anywhere, I couldn't tell you where. *shrug*

I can imagine that with Cynder's exposure to the ways of evil that if her and Spyro ever DID have something that he would end up as her *****. Nuff said.

That's more or less the way I always wrote them when I did. But, being a domme myself, I do have my own biases.

That's the only way I can stomach SxC besides them being just children with somewhat of a possibility but the developers just had to go and ruin that.

I'm with you on all counts, Blink. They really ruined Cynder's personality on top of everything else. She was completely out of character the whole game, despite being the only playable character who could fight worth beans. I liked that she was the only one smart enough to come up with any ideas but everyone seemed to expect her to keep quiet and let the menfolk do all the talking. *eye roll*

I'll be honest I haven't played the game. The hype is enough to let you know that the creators screwed up big time though. And the fanart... oh the horrible fanart...

Eh, you didn't really miss much game wise, though if you can find a copy for under $10 and like mediocre-at-best games it might be worth trying out. Heh, yeah, that fanart... D:

Hmmm....One thing bothers me. Can story even be called Legend of Spyro (LoS) If he dies in firts chapter? Or will his spirit appear later and haunt Cynder to death? Just curiosity, nice start. Dramatic

Saying it's a LoS story doesn't have anything to do with Spyro being in it or not, it's just a way to let people know what setting from the Spyro games it's in. And this is the only part to the story there is. If I write any more to it, Spyro won't be in it.

There is no doubt in my mind that Spyro would be Cynder's *****, just look at her, she wears an iron 'collar', yeeaahh...

It's worth pointing out that in the real BDSM world, wearing a collar means you're a slave, not a master. But Spyro is a very obvious submissive and Cynder definitely acts the part of a dominant.

Cynder certainly wears the pants in the relationship, I wonder if Spyro likes it like that.

He never protests orders (or even questions them) in the games, so I'm guessing he does.
