The funniest part was episode two when Hunter falls to his doom. I also liked the part when Cynder is knocked out and Spyro 's like "Great! Now I can do stuff to her!"

Dragons are already nude...

Spyro's target audience has always been "everyone," I just can't see them seriously putting him in a game with any of those points. Not saying that would automatically make it a bad game, it'd just be weird.

However, I wouldn't mind if any of those points were in a game where you played as a dragon. A game with the "human slays dragon" tables turned would be fun >:3

I love mature humour, with the adult jokes and all, especially if it's in shows/games that are aimed at kids. It makes it appeal to all ages that way.

IMO Spyro could do great with a few adult jokes now and then, but none of the other crap like blood, nudity, sex, etc.

Look at Rayman 3 if you want an example of this.

Critics widely regard that game as a masterpiece. And even Banjo-Kazooie had quite a bit of adult humour. So it was quite clear they wanted to do a game like Conker for some time.

You wanna know what ruined Rare? They got bought by Microsoft. If it weren't for that, we would actually have a Conker sequel and everything. The only good thing that came from Rare since being bought by Microsoft is Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts (and apparantly Kameo, but I don't know a thing about that).

No, because Rare made an M-rated game on (gasp) a Nintendo console, Nintendo wanted nothing to do with the company and sold its commanding share of Rare to Microsoft. Hence, Conker killed Rare because Nintendo was too squeamish. I'm not saying Conker was a bad game. I enjoyed it. But due to shoddy sales and Nintendo's M-rated-phobia, the game was the beginning of the end for Rareware. >.>

@ Bold: Anyone can say that, that phrase is meaningless to me in this area, as it is all due to opinions from people whether this type of situation in a Spyro game goes well or not. It can really only go one way if you ask me.

I would be one of those games that either worked out horribly, or wonderfully.

According to Toys for Bob, it probably would have worked out horribly, since they did try to develop a darker Spyro game.

Well maybe if someone other than Toys For Bob tried it, it would have a better chance of working out. The first developer that comes to mind is Pandemic, but they were shut down. I think the Destroy All Humans style humour would work out alright.

Skorpion, most of the fans will say that Spyro 'really died' if they made a mature Spyro game that included blood. Not every fan will share your opinions of an M-rated game.

I personally think that it's a bad idea mainly because Spyro is suppose to be a game aimed at all ages. However, I wouldn't mind at all if they added in adult jokes. I love that kind of humour in kids games/movies/T.V shows.

Some may may just simply not want an M rated Spyro game, just accept it and move on. >_>

I'll say what I've said before: in a subgenre (dragon games) that is completely comprised of T and M rated games, Spyro stands out as a breath of fresh air. Making a more mature game based on Spyro would turn the series into yet another cliche, dull game with a dragon in it, and we have enough of those already.

LoS was an attempt to make the Spyro series more mature and it failed both critically and financially (EtD made it to the greatest hits collection, but did TEN or DotD? Nope). When they tried to make a more mature Spyro game, even the creative team at Toys for Bob couldn't take it and they scrapped the ideas for a reason.

Mature-themed Spyro stuff is fine in fandom, but it will never be a good idea in reality. Some franchises do well enough being rated for older audiences; Spyro isn't one of them.

^ I agree. Spyro isn't a type of game that would suit a mature audience. TLOS tried this an failed. In other words, if you want a more mature Spyro game, play TLOS.

The game needs to suit the mature theme for it to go along smoothly. Spyro, however, just won't suit it, and the fact that he was originally a game aimed at all ages doesn't help.
