^ but what if the person has had more experience on a different site? as in, has been an admin/mod for a different site but has been here for less then say three years? that's why I think that there should be some sort of other way rather then "time" to decide. because though you may have had less time on here you may have all the right attributes still in order to be a mod.

I did read your whole post. I was stating why I thought there should be other ways. by " that's why I think" I meant that in a reply to what you said about both subjects. the level of sparx and questions. I was only telling you the reason that I think there should be other ways of decideding, not denying/ignoring that you already said there could be questions, you see?

i have been as mod in another site : spyrofansite and after that i were as admin in there we had at best time 100 members and it was not easy to controll the site and we got 3admins +2mods but there is always the other side of the coin and in this case it is that frist if dark would take some mods there would be 100 more peoples saying that i want to be a mod to ans so on... and then think what would hapen to those mods they would get dosens of bad and rude commnts from some members ..... i know we need mods .... but still i anderstand why dark52 dosent want eny mods

What you're saying is that it could be a lot of mental pressure upon the mod do to the amount of attention that they would get. That's a good point to bring up actually. If one is going to be a mod they need to be able to shrug off any slander that comes their way and not let that prompt them to ban someone just because they are being picked on.

that's a good point. if you're going to be a mod you have to be able to do just that.

That's why I think dark should ask questions, and test you. I can't think of any other way, usually before people on here just went for popularity, like CAV and Aura24, just because they act like mods, or whatever, when there could be someone else just like them, but they decide not to act like one because they feel there is no need to. There's got to be a fairer way than randomly picking a popular person. It's just like me being dark52 and just saying to someone "Oh I like you, you seem to act like a mod, oh well, I'll just choose you" That doesn't seem fair, and just because they act like a mod, doesn't necessarily mean they'll be good, they could become power crazy, or anything really.

^You're right about that. that's a good point too. I think though Aura and CAV could be good candidates there may be others who could do good too.

I'm just saying that it's unfair to pick out popular people, it still doesn't seem right. Perhaps dark52 could be testing us right now, seeing how we post, our reactions, and such.

that's good. I'm glad you think that. I'm not looking at them as " popular" I'm looking at them as "they might be able to get the job done".

They may be able to get the job done, but who knows, they could still make a silly mistake. I think you would still need to be trained properly.

I confuse Ban with Suspend a lot. Hunters/Mod's are capable of putting you into suspension if you're too rowdy and or defiant of the rules set here.

As for the Popular vs Capable side of it. I figured Dark would just lurk around and observe us to see if we are capable of being a Hunter or not. Rather or not its due to popularity or just because one strives for an effective and prosperous community here. Regardless Dark can offer that gift of Huntership and I believe he can just as easily take it away.

Besides that I figured someone who has good discerning/judgement would be more qualified to be a Hunter, and someone who will warn others before they are about to close a thread instead of just abruptly deleting/suspending people.

When it comes to Ban/Suspend, I use them interchangeably.

He would probably be sneaky about it, he wouldn't make it public. i mean, he'd want to know our actual experiences when we're least expecting it, not watching what we put on just to make us look good.

He would have to see how we [i]reallyp/i] look and act around here.

It's too hard to choose for dark, he doesn't exactly know everyone on this site in real life, so how can he trust anyone? After all we could be anyone, lol. I think he would have to choose someone he knows very well, like a relative, or a close friend, but then again they may not be up for that, I'm cutting out of this conversation now, don't know what else to say.
