But that's seriously what it sounds like you're saying. :/ Let the classic or LoS only fans get some word in. This is staying on topic pretty well.

I suppose I will. As long as they don't take the Spyro franchise too seriously, like the fanbase is at the moment with Skylanders.

Shrazer, if you read this topic, you'll notice that this is specifically only for people that like all 3 Spyro games. There really isn't much point to posting in here when you only like one.

For one thing, when people that only like one kind of Spyro are here, there eventually will be some noob that comes in here and decides to start a war.

Well, as long as they don't rant or flame negatively about the series, the Spyro they hate or don't like, they can have some word in it.

I don't really see much point of this topic, it's just a plain 'yes' or 'no' answer, and obviously Aura is only letting the ones in that can say 'yes' so what's the point?

EDIT: You're obviously still a Spyro fan if you come on this site, and even if you use your time to complain and care about it so much.

Aura isn't the only one. Look at what I said. The point of the topic is for people that like all 3.

well the reason i liked spyro cus he's my first dragon that i like (i hate dragons long time ago)

Me and aura know this all too well, on how the franchise fanbase as well as razz how it has changed. But aura knows my opinions on the new game, its ok but its not something im looking forward too, heck im not even sure if i'll play it because im not sure if its going on a ps3. Anyways thats way besides the point, I still like spyro because he was the first character i liked playing when i first started gaming. So i may not like his future but the character itself still has a special place in my heart.

Ever heard of a reboot, Spyro-Gamer? LoS had nothing to do with the Classic series..

Nope, ANB was thought to have been a prequel to the Classic Spyro, but it was really a reboot.

Yes, ETD and AHT count as Classics, since they continued after the original trilogy.

I have to argue that AHT is not "classic" since it bears little resemblance to the Insomniac games and that that particular terminology doesn't really work. AHT and Shadow Legacy are pretty much proto-LoS and/or their own continuity.

Apart from those, AHT did continue from the original trilogy in a way..

I still count anything pre-LoS as Classic.

Same kind of mood (with the exception of SL), most of the same characters, and a few elements that the Insomniac games had.

Maybe those reasons are outdated since it's been an enternity since I played those 2 games while actually paying attention...

It doesn't make sense to me to think of anything but the Insomniac three and (grudgingly) EtD (since it was one of the first games for PS2 and GC) as "classic". AHT and SL aren't even six years old if memory serves and they have about as much in common with the Insomniac trilogy as LoS does: a few characters and place names, but nothing else.

I dunno. Like I said, I place anything pre-LoS as Classic, regardless of how old it is. It's kind of a bad habit, and I'm not going to get used to saying pre-LoS for those 2 games.

it is more about the type of game. the classics are a group of games that are mostly made for running around and collecting items.
The LOS series is a group of games that are mostly object oriented, each level has to be completed before the player can advance. (not including extras)

Just say AHT. It saves time all 'round and keeps people from having to ask what games you mean when you say "classic".

When people hear Classic, most think of anything prior to LoS. At least I do.

Sometimes I believe that TLOS is the past to classic Spyro. I know it's a reboot, but to me, it works better that way. It actually makes sense too if you think about it.

I think of all games prior to LoS. If I ever need to mention 1, 2, or 3, I just say Insomniac trilogy.

I remember hearing a theory about how LoS was the prequel to the Insomniac trilogy, and that the Spyro from that series is actually the great-great-great-great (etc.) grandchild of LoS Spyro and Cynder. It actually made sense to some extent, although I highly doubt it'd be true.

I'm with everyone who thinks Insomniac Spyro when they hear "classic".

LoS and the original games just don't add up in any way to me. Maybe if the LoS world really was destroyed five or six times over it could work, but that's the only way it'd make sense in my mind.

I'm with SG on this one, Aura. LoS was confusing and not in the good way. There's a point where you can have too many plot holes and LoS ran past it screaming somewhere in ANB.

I prefer ANB and TEN. DotD...I want my $40 and time back.

I don't regret wasting time on any of the games. I didn't waste any money since ANB and TEN were both Christmas presents in their respective years, and DotD was a birthday gift. And even if I did, I wouldn't regret it anyway.

Or did it? They never explained. A whole civil war could've happened and we wouldn't know because they never bothered to tell us.

To me, it wasn't really confusing until we reached the billion plotholes of DotD.

There are invincibility and infinite magic cheats for ANB and DotD that help.

You can find them listed on this site. How do you blow him up in TEN? o.o

They don't exist. LoS is a totally different universe, which is why it's called a reboot. LoS is totally uninvolved with the original trilogy or AHT or the handheld games.
