Which music do you like best from the Spyro games?
Personally, I like Dawn of the Dragon the best! It's calm, epic, and AWESOME!

Can't really decide. I do think LoS has a bit of a better soundtrack over the Classics. Maybe it's because I perfer that kind of music. Guide You Home and This Broken Soul are also good songs, especially the latter.

I mostly like the music from the first Spyro game pretty good. And of course, the music from AHT is good, too.

AHT has an awesome soundtrack, with a lot of charm.
And the LoS games have a real thought-provoking soundtrack, as well as those epic songs that get you all pumped up. The Classics have a good soundtrack, but TBH, I never really find myself humming them or anything.....and I hum VG soundtracks a lot! As for Skylanders, I'm not keen on Zimmer. I doubt the music will be terrible though, but I'm not expecting anything memorable. But the fact they lazily used Thunderstruck for the trailer doesn't go well with me.

Obviously I'd disagree about Zimmer, but I do agree about Thunderstruck. It seems as though everyone is using it. Why the sudden interest? The song isn't brand new. And they can't say it's because it has something to do with Skylanders, because I see no relevance between the song and the trailer/game. |

Yeah, they get a big name composer, and don't show us what he's doing for the game? Really?
I mean, people can say what they want about this being more original and unique than TLoS, but at least TLoS used it's own music for trailers.

I wasn't really too fond of the music being used in the Skylanders trailer either to be honest,
and the soundtrack for The Legend of Spyro is nice, but I still prefer the nuttyness of Spyro the Dragon. |

Spyro the Dragon has a nice soundtrack, but for me, the original trilogy seemed like it was trying to be too like Sonic Adventure in terms of music.....and Jun Senoue is hard to match, so.....
However, the title themes were always awesome in Spyro games!

Both classic Spyro games and LoS games have amazing music. AHT music imo sucks, and I haven't played ETD long enough to say anything about the music.

Maybe it's because he only recently started composing? *shrug* But they could've easily just plugged one of his older songs. |

I wonder what it would have been like if the opening theme of Spyro the Dragon was on there?
Like, would it have suited the game. |

Maybe it would suit the game since it's trying to combine both Classic and LoS.

I don't want an orchestral version of the main theme from Spyro 1, it would suck.

If it's got Stewart Copeland's name involved, I instantly like it.
I'm an SC fanatic, I guess...

Stewart Copeland is the best composer for the Spyro series in my opinion, my favourite soundtrack would be STD, I really like every single track on there, they all seem different to me, but in Spyro 2 and 3, the first few tracks sound good and then they all sound too similar after that, there's only a couple I like in ETD, and the same goes for AHT. As for the Legend of Spyro I only really like the main theme.

The music from the Legend of Spyro trilogy was one of the saving graces, I thought; one of the few things to keep it "okay" as opposed to "bad." It's all beautiful and epic-sounding. Still, it doesn't really strike me as memorable; everybody uses complex, epic-sounding, orchestrated music in their game scores now. Stewart Copeland and Ryan Beveridge's (guy who composed with Copeland on Year of the Dragon) stuff is far more unique. At least, I think so; I can recognize it easier than Rebecca Kneubuhl and Gabriel Mann's stuff. Of course, that isn't to say Stewart Copeland is a better artist than Rebecca Kneubuhl; I didn't care for what he did for EtD (one of the many disappointments in that game XP). They've just both got different styles, and I prefer Copeland's. As of now, I can't comment on A Hero's Tale's music, because I haven't played a whole lot of it, but what I remember is still pretty good.

Music is pretty decent all around (with the exception of DotD, which was pretty lousy). <.<;

^This.
DOTD's soundtrack was just a mix of the game's original music with music from ANB and TEN thrown in there. :/ |
