It was made by the people that make D&D for use in a rule book dedicated to dragons (or at least as far as I know).

I LOVE Nettlebrand too! He's my favorite character in Dragon Rider. But I don't think he would be considered an actual dragon. One of my fan fics is actually in remembrance of him.

I think it's because some users don't know that it's pointless to bump topics.

There is nothing wrong with bumping a topic so long as you are actually saying something to contribute.

From the rules:

Don't bump topics.
Topics on this forum do not purge so feel free to post in older topics as long as you have something worth saying; if your post is merely there to bring the topic to the top of the list and you have nothing useful to add to the topic, why would anybody else? This will be regarded as spam.
Posting in old topics that nobody has replied to in months is generally thought of as disruptive, but in the less active game specific forums this is not such an issue.

After seeing this topic bumped, I went to see other old topics... I remember we were always off-topic but not that much! Every topic here in the General board went off-topic after 6-7 comments! We were cool...

It isn't important enough to the topic to be able to bump it without any problems.

I don't think his intention was to bump the topic, but rather he was just talking about whatever was last going on. You're allowed to do that, and even if you weren't, I don't really see what the big deal is.

I don't think he thought there would be anything wrong with it. Could of been a topic he subscribed to.

He should've known. He's a yellow sparx. Even if he was returning after a while he should've known. Bumping topics is a general rule in all forums, with few exceptions.

But it says in the rules if you're post is on-topic, you're fine. The nature of the post was not that of spam.

Meh. On the internet, I was taught to not bump topics unless you have something important. For example, I bumped the Portal topic because I posted a video and article about the game that people might not have heard about.

Yeah, but even that could be marked as unimportant, as most people who want Portal 2 reside on the Steam Forums, or found out via a news site. As long as a post is on-topic, there's nothing really wrong with bumping though.

It's news about the game. It can be considered important.

I don't know. I guess it depends on where you were raised on the internet. Where I was, you cannot bump a topic without consequences, and I shall stick to that idea until the day I die, especially since most forums follow this rule.
