Im tired of seeing post with the word it telling others that dragons are its it annoys me greatly what do you think about people calling you an it tell me if you think its wrong to call dragons such as spyro or cynder its or do you think that its ok to call them its.

If you dont know the gender then call what ever the species there kind of species.

I do find it rude if you can obviously see that they are specific gender. But if you truly don't know, it doesn't really bother me. I try to refrain from calling living things 'it,' though.

you have a good point but, lets say two dragons have a baby instead of saying whats its gender or whats its name you coulld say what is the dragons name or what is the dragons gender. Which is very respectful rather than calling the hatchling an it.

I have been using edit button lately and theres no reason for name calling.Dont be a a suck up "CAV"

Because of the way the English language works, if you don't know the gender of a thing your only options are to say it is male (he/him) or say it is gender neutral (it). Would you prefer that we all call Cynder's daughter "he" if we don't know what gender the dragon is?

Welcome to English 101. Yes, it's sometimes annoying, but we don't have gendered neutral pronouns like other languages. It has nothing to do with respect or disrespect. Deal with it.

They're fictional characters. Video game characters. Dragons. I've never come across people calling them 'its', but it doesn't make a difference to me at all. I couldn't care less..

Ok, you and I aren't pixels. But Spyro and Cynder are, therefore it doesn't matter if we refer to them as "it", because pixels don't have a gender. Yeah, it's nice to call them he or she, but at the end of the day, they are fictional, therefore they don't have an actual gender.

And by not using the edit button, you'll be gone in two weeks.

I remember when I was 10 I called customer service for help. I was called ma'am. It hung over my head for the rest of the day. I'd much rather be called "it" rather than be confused for a woman.

I personally wouldn't mind being confused for a woman. It's worse when people call you a "girl" or "gay" when they know well you aren't. People have called me a girl for the stupidest things....including viloently kicking someone in the back of the leg....

Dozens of people think Speckles is a dude or don't know Eric's gender and call her "it". Like Razz said, they were imagined by our ancestors several centuries ago. They are not real. And if in the slight chance that they were, then we killed them all, since there aren't any in present time.

alot of the world is unexplored and maby dragons live in the mountans and know to stay away from humans[ although a dragon could kill you in one fiery blow]

We have climbed nearly every mountain, and just about every piece of this earth has been explored with the exception of a few islands. Sorry, but they don't exist.
