A Hero's Tail is classic. It has Classic Spyro in it, not LoS.

Yeah, mine's AHT, GTG, STD and YoTD.

A Hero's Tail is actually its own universe. The Spyro in it has a different design and multiple breath attacks and everyone he knew from the Insomniac games is either absent or so different as to not be the same character (Moneybags is a good example).

On topic, my favorite classic is the three Insomniac games, especially Ripto's Rage.

My fave Spyro games are the Insomniac ones and ETD in this order:

  1. YOTD
  2. STD
  3. GTG
  4. ETD

I agree with this. I don't consider AHT as part as the classic universe. The only Spyro game I consider a sequel to the first three is ETD.

Ripto's rage is my top favorite.I can't decide between STD OR YTD so I considered them tied.
I havn't completed AHT or ETD but it's obvious of AHT that its a funny take on the original universe. I normally group AHT with the first four games but I see what you mean about it being a different/alternative universe and the characters like Hunter is different and especially Bentley and Moneybags smilie.

I want to complete ETD but it has given me headaches/migraines(PS2 Version) lately as the music stops looping or getting quieter with the sound effects getting louder especially in Crop circle Country I heard screeching sound coming after the music stopped looping for a while.

He had those breaths in ETD too and there were reappearing character, but I do agree, it is quite different from the others, in mixed ways to me.

But Spyro didn't start off with three extra breaths, he started off with fire like in all Spyro games. Because ETD had multiple breath attacks. And there was Elder Tomas, Titan and Magnus from STD in AHT too.

I don't think AHT is a different universe. SL is the sequel to AHT, and there are books in SL that chronicle Spyro's adventures, from StD to AHT.

I consider the first three to be the "classics." So out of those I guess my favorite is the first one. Not sure why.

I think the best spyro game was riptoes rage. it was easy but kinda long and was really fun to play and i had some EPIC music

The original three will always be the classics. Everything else is just another Spyro game.

  1. StD - Beautiful worlds, awesome music, generally fun and creative all 'round... I love all the supercharging... wheeeesmilie!
  2. YotD - Beautiful settings, awesome music and great gameplay. Skateboarding FTW smilie!
  3. GtG - Again great worlds, music and nice addition of new techniques for Spyro like the hover, ability to swim and the headbash. An awesome game that just came under YotD for me
  4. AHT - I actually quite enjoyed this game but not as much as the original three (Apart from a couple of annoying characters here and there and the switch between charge and flame buttons)
  5. SL - Again I quite enjoyed it but was a bit boring at points compared to AHT
  6. EtD - Two words, Glitch City
