It is directed towards people that did not pick up on even the fact that they are not dead. The last bit about not being other books is to point out something beyond the most obvious. There other books, but they are not mentioned and only the 'Book of Death' is present in the cutscene; therefore, it is reasonable to assume that it was the only one to have been checked.

The Chronicler is a bookish kind of guy. I don't think he would have said "I've done my best" if he only looked in one book. I assumed from the start that he'd checked at least Spyro and Cynder's books if not a few others.

The game's ending is, frankly, a bit ambiguous. It's not obvious that they are alive (the throwback to Dragonheart with Spyro's silhouette in the stars made me think they were dead right away, as did the lack of a reunion with their friends; the bit after the credits just confused me early on). If you want them to be alive, then they are. I personally think it makes more sense and is more satisfying to say that they're between life and death and will protect the world in a way it has not been protected before. It also means that Spyro doesn't have to grow up any more (because to my mind that was always the worst concept anyone had for Spyro in terms of his games).

From what the chronicler said, he wasn't found in the book of death, so therefor, he's not dead. And he and Cynder are seen flying in a familiar location, which leads me to believe they survived and are simply enjoying themselves now that they're free. And I don't think they'd kill Spyro anyway, considering he's the main character, and if that was the new Universe set for Spyro, why kill him? They couldn't continue the games with a dead main character! D:

He was also near what appeared to be something like the Pool of Visions from the Dragon Temple. It may be he could not find them with it. On another note, Ignitus is looking into it wondering where Spyro is, and the camera moves towards it before showing them.

As dragons become part of the world when they die, being between life and death would be difficult.

I dunno... Soul Reaver has done pretty well. I'd play as zombie LoS Spyro. I daresay it'd be an improvement.

I'm sure someone will ask why I'm making fun of DotD if I like it. To answer that question ahead of time, it's because I'm not afraid to make fun of things I like.

Pfft, are you kidding? You should see some of the insulting comics I've done about Insomniac Spyro. An honest parody from the heart is the most sincere expression of love in my book.

I completely disagree. That's like saying documentaries have no logic because they're on film like sci-fi movies. Case in point: Heavy Rain.

^An honest parody also means you have a good sense of humor. You don't have a good sense of humor unless you can make fun of yourself and things that you enjoy.

It depends on the type of video game. Games like Heavy Rain and Truama Center use logic since they rely on it to make a great game. But if it's something like Sonic or Spyro, it's best to throw logic out of the window, since it will be challenged from the start (how can a hedgehog talk as well as run fast while being blue, and why is a purple dragon talking and why does the world depend on it?).

Yeah, CAV said what I meant. Although Heavy Rain and Trauma Centre have some illogical things too.

^Yeah. Heavy Rain had that dude with the kickass glasses, and Trauma Center has strange viruses.

See i wanted them to continue with the old storyline and just adapt to it. :/

Its a shame, i loved the storyline but yes they were alive as the chronicler never recorded either or there names in his books.
