I don't see sparx mentioned anywhere in skylanders X(

He gets stuffed in a box and submerged in steaming hot lava

Apparently, they did not have a Sparx's action figure.
So they could not add him in the game.

That, or they don't want it to be Spyro anymore.

Speaking of what happened to Sparx not appearing in Skylanders, I saw a picture on dA that had the Skylander Spyro eating Sparx. I was like, 'So THAT'S what happened to Sparx! '

It was pretty funny if you don't take it seriously.

Right, I guess Spyro got pissed and ate Sparx- that would be a plausible theory. He does look like a baddie in this game, wouldn't put it past him to eat his annoying dragonfly tagalong!

Or the producers didn't bother adding Sparx in the game since the game focuses on the lead protectors of their own worlds.

But if you want to make a story-wise explination, then fine. He got tired of going on adventures risking his life and went back to the tall plains from ANB (I think that's what they're called) where he's praised as a god.

I don't think that Spyro is the same without Sparx. I mean, Sparx has been there in very single Spyro game so far, it wouldn't seem like a Spyro game without him. :-/ I'm not whining or anything, it just doesn't seem like a proper Spyro game...

It wasn't going to be a spyro game, Acti just took it over and added Spyro to help with sales. I think there is no sparx because the tou would then have to be Spyro and Sparx, not just Spyro.

Spyro collected gems on his own in AHT when Sparx went away after an enemy hit him.

To be on topic. there's an in-game story reason for why there is no Sparx. In the plot we've been given, Kaos takes the heroes (and the heroes only) out of their worlds and turns them into toys in ours. Sparx isn't a hero, he's just Spyro's sidekick, so Kaos wouldn't bother with him. The dragonfly might still be around in Spyro's world, though.

^I agree. But fans still want Sparx to be with Spyro since the dragonfly has been the dragon's health bar since his PS1 days..

Then why was it a big deal when he wasn't with Spyro in the end of DotD?

I'm with Darby on this one. They're only whining because they want more reasons to hate on the new game, not because they actually miss Sparx (if they did, we would have seen these kind of complaints about DotD years ago).

I still think that kicking out Sparx in DOTD and replacing him with Cynder was a really wrong move. >.<

That's what I'm thinking. He may appear as your health bar. After all, those sheep might be there for a reason.

I'm with you about replacing him with Cynder. He may have been useless in LoS, but I'll take him any day over her (plus, it made absolutely no sense for him to not be there, but that's a different subject).

There's still a few things they might be adding into the game at this point, so maybe we'll see him back. We haven't seen how the game measures health yet and I miss the dragonfly system (it was easy to see and made sense).

Actually, we've seen the health meter of Spyro on some of the demo videos, it's much like his LoS counterpart's.

Oh, I missed that. Drat. I hate health meters as a general rule. They're so boring.

Meh, I'm still not convinced that Cynder replaced Sparx. They were two different characters to me with two different roles as far as I'm concerned. It's like saying Franky the Pitchfork replaced Berri at the end of Conker's BFD!

Yes, but in general, people literally made big rants about Sparx and Spyro seperating in DotD. But with Skylanders, it's just a few "aww, no Sparx?" comments....

Agreed with Razz and DC. Replacing Sparx at the end was like saying Luke should have been cut off from PL3 for Clair. *shot*

People complained about that, and now those people are getting annoyed with the people complaining Sparx is gone, when they did the same thing back with DotD.. :/

I'm not getting annoyed with those people. I miss Sparx so much, but until the game is in a Beta stage, it isn't locked in he won't be here. It isn't locked in even now.

the thing is that Skylanders is a reboot so basically,they can do anything they want,and it's kinda sad they didn't add Sparx...but oh well =/ it's not centered around Spyro anyway..it's more of a spin-off ...

but in loS you got Sparx from the beginning as Spyro's ''brother'' and him and Spyro are traveling together through 2 games and going through all kinds of stuff and when you expect them to stay together till the end of the 3rd one he gets cut of cus of a nonsensical(cus he wouldn't survive according to Spyro?oh come on! he went to the core of the destroyer,and all kinds of dangerous places and was just fine!) reason and replaced by Cynder
