Spyro's Size [CLOSED]

Actually, Dimps only worked on the Wii/PS2 version. The Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were just Sonic Team.

Last I checked, Dimps made the day stages for all ports of Sonic Unleashed, which shows that Dimps is better at making Sonic games than the people that made him in the first place. It's sad.

Nope, they only did the Wii/PS2 version. This was known since before release of the game. They are not in the credits of the Next-Gen versions....

And Gameloft makes the mobile version.

Can we be nice to each other...? Anyway, not all concept arts are completely true. I mean, it could just be a sketch. The game designers could of just been messing around. Anyway, if it is true, Spyro and Cynder would be huge...but that wouldnt make any sense, would it?

So that's why the Wii and PS2 versions have higher scores than the Xbox and PS3 versions. Because Sonic Team messed up the day stages. This shows that Dimps is the only person that can actually develop a good Sonic game besides Nintendo.

Spyro and Cynder would be around the size of a human being.

^ I think they'd be smaller. Their DotD design would put them at waist-height.

^ yes. Its very hard to determine their size, since they dont have anything to compare them with. Pictures are alot different than the game. It'd make sense they'd be at least smaller than the average human. The guardians are probably a little bigger than inside a regular 1-story house. We need to see some comparision pictures D:<

Actually, the reviews for Unleashed on 360/PS3 were extremely biased. IGN and GameSpot gave it a lower score than Sonic 06, I believe....and Sonic Unleashed isn't even glitchy....smilie

I have completed the Wii version 100%, and the 360 version 100%, and I definitly prefer the 360 version. The Wii version is great too though.

Though the artists who worked on recent games never show us a size comparison between humans and the dragon characters.

Yes, meanwhile Gamespot gave the Wii version a 7/10, and claimed that the day stages are incredible. Dimps is better than Sonic Team. Simple as that.

It wasn't biased. So what if a game isn't glitchy? It can still get a lower score. For example, I feel as though Black Knight may be worse than Sonic 06.
sonicbrawler182 Platinum Sparx Gems: 7105
#69 Posted: 23:36:26 29/01/2011
It was biased, for two major reasons...

1) They say the Werehog stages were terrible, yet never say why
2) They say the controls were unresponsive, which is absolute crap....just look at any speedrun video.

Trust me, the Next-Gen version is better, hands-down. The only thing Wii version has better than the Next-Gen version is the fact it has Gaia Gate puzzles.

The Wii version is the obvious better. Controls are more responsive, and Dimps can actually develop good Sonic games (Rush, Colors, day stages of Unleashed).

And I can list reasons why the Werehog stages are terrible.

Does anyone realize there are actually height measurements in one of the DoTD pictures?

Enemies gallery, I think. Using those comparisons you can work out a rough yet accurate height.

I agree with Cloudtail4Ever who said it seems of scale, and with Observer who said we shouldn't take it as canon and that it was artist joke.

I've played both, and the day stages of the Wii version are better. And seeing how the Werehog sucks regardless of system, it makes the Wii version better.
sonicbrawler182 Platinum Sparx Gems: 7105
#74 Posted: 23:48:24 29/01/2011
I thought the 360 version was better for me. The Wii version didn't have as much platforming. And on 360, the Werehog stages felt like a better GoW.

How did a topic about Spyro's size become about Sonic Unleashed? *Although, reading what you have to say about it, I think I'll get Colours over Unleashed smilie*

But, meh, I honestly don't think you could draw an accurate comparison of humans and dragons; since they're fantasy creatures, you should just leave it to your imagination.

That means nothing though, I mean, I could probably custom order a Spyro the Dragon halloween costume. A toddler could be Spyro the Dragon for Halloween. He needs a life-size model. One that is exactly the size he's supposed to be...only the producers can give us that.

I remember an old spyro advertisement, I don't remember which, where is shows a suburban street wrecked. Scorch marks everywhere, a ruptured fire hydrant frozen, a few people with elecltricity in there hair and a few more floating in the air trapped in bubbles. At the bottom of the pic it shows Spyro's head pokeing out of a manhole. Using that ad as scale his shoulder would be about at an avarage persons waist. So he'd be about the size of a Saint Bernard (roughly).
