Ohh. Yeah. I hate when people don't give something a chance. It's like they glance at it and are like: "Ohp, yup, I hate it already."
Really?

When I first discovered TLoS, I didn't even give it a chance because I thought Spyro looked funny on the cover, and it just looked so.. different. But hey, I ended up loving it!

I saw the trailer for ANB, and decided to try it out, since its story caught my attention. I enjoyed it, and when I found out there was going to be a sequel, I wanted to play TEN as well. smilie

I'll put in my two cents here TO BOTH SIDES.

I'm in animation in college, I have to learn to be creative and come up with a good drawing and a good story, something unique that people will fall in love with and never let go. It's an animator's dream... or at least that's what I want. Anyways...

These fan wars are nothing but pitiful and the ones who start them should be ashamed and shouldn't be allowed to touch a controller. We as human beings should be d*** happy we even live today and enjoy the wonders the human mind can create many zany and incredible worlds to help each other leave the harsh reality of the planet earth and strive to make another feel much better in a fake pixel-ish world.

I love Spyro and favor both sides old and new. H*** I wouldn't mind interning as a writer for Acti and create a good story and lovable characters that both sides can enjoy.

Quit wasting your time and just be happy that there is game to play as a dragon, both cute and spunky with a good heart.

It's all about execution, sometimes time and money take a toll on project and sacrifices are made. Sometimes the worst come out of a rushed or unfinished project, I've been there. Many of my instructors have done the same, one has to live with a serious back pain for the rest of life just to save money on a stunts.

Just remember to ALL new and old fans... be thankful the series still exists. It's better than nothing right?

^ I agree. The wars are so ridicules. People can't accept that some people don't like their game, and it's so annoying.

Heh, to tell you the truth, I wish they really did stopped it. None of this would be happening.

And you know how we both series Spyro fans feel: hearing the same thing over and over. Flame on which Spyro is better here and there, arguments raging everywhere. It's annoying, tiring, childish, and downright ridicule as a whole.

If people could accept each other's opinion, or at least handle things in a mature manner, then this war would have been dealt with.

SK should put the war to rest, hopefully.

I'll still only like the Spyro The Dragon series, and that's my opinion, I cannot false myself to like something that I don't, what's the point of that? What? Just because it helps me get taken away from reality, you can't escape it all the time, and you can't like everything.

I'm with him, and it is. Do you have TEN on GBA? It may be a legend game, but the only reason I even knew about it is because I like both, its one of the best Spyro; heck, even one of the best handheld games; ever. I feel sorry for everybody who doesn't, they're missing out on something, and the only reason is again because I like both series, so in a way I guess I'm grateful I enjoy both even if that doesn't make any sense. smilie

Yes, it makes sense, and I don't really go on handheld games that much really, my Mum owns a DS that can play GBA games, so I may consider it, but I doubt it, handheld games bore me within ten minutes.

It's really wonderful. They say its like Devil May Cry. I cant judge if that's accurate though because I never played those games.

The graphics are gorgeous, too. Especially one of the opening scenes in 3D. And I actually prefer the graphics in that shot over a DS engine. Soundtrack is nice but sounds somewhat 8-bit... And the level designs are brilliant. The power-ups and cameos are hidden so well. It's like a side-scrolling version of the Classics with combat of the Legends but improved. There's even an unlockable that lets you hover.

It had perfect difficulty for me. It's not really hard, it's challenging. Even in Normal difficulty, I had a serious challenge with one boss(second last one)- I just kept getting flustered in it, and eventually gave up then started a new game in Easy mode. smilie That was the only point in the game that actually frustrated me, apart from maybe the boss in the Celestial Sanctum.

It's actually longer in this version and goes across about 8 levels instead of 5.

Huuuuuge differences!

First of all, the GBA version is a side-scrolling beat-em-up as opposed to the 3D platforming of the DS version. It includes a combo system which rewards you with Blue Gems for prolonged combos when you beat an enemy, you can choose the level, there are a TON more unlockables, repayable bosses, there's even a few cameos and
a secret version in-game you get for beating Hard Mode which allows you to go through the entire game as Dark Spyro with much faster movement and constantly restoring health and mana.

Also, there were some things not put into the other versions, like the Naga boss. And furies are different- instead of powering you up they make you super fast with ever-regenerating stats.

GBA version for sure, if you can only get one, but try the DS version out if you can find it for cheap, it's not really anything special- especially if you played the DS version of ANB because there aren't many new Light Puzzles, if any.

Or on the other hand, you can try ANB on DS if you haven't already, which is not as good as TEN on GBA but is still cool.

You definitely, however, must get TEN on GBA. It is beyond epic.

I'll try out both versions, it won't cost me a single cent anyway, as I can just download the DS version of TEN for my R4, and the GBA version I can play on the computer on a GBA emulator.

Still, you don't understand how we both series Spyro fans always had to go through while in the Spyro fandom. We had to be forced to choose which side we like most or other fans will be against us. We became tired of taking sides of either Old and New Spyro, that always think they're better than the other. We chose both series, because we like the Old and New Spyro altogether no matter what the changes, and we all share some things in common.

One that includes ignoring and not taking part in foolish, childish flame wars over which Spyro is better.

Ok, I agree with both SSF and Aura. I know that sounds confusing, but listen.

As human beings we have the right to choose what we like and what we don't. If you only like Classic or vice versa, that's perfectly fine. But when you start acting like a jerk to anyone that doesn't agree with you, that's where people draw the line. It's ok for you to like something, but you gotta respect others' opinions, and you can't have a hissy fit whenever someone disagrees with you.

And it sucks even more when people that like both are forced to choose which is better, because for the most part we can't decide which is better. I know I can't. Don't drag innocent people into them. Wars are bad as it is without having to throw someone whom wants no part of it into them.

I agree to this. I love classic Spyro only, and no whiny person is going to change that. But we should be able to like whatever we want. If you like the classics only, that's fine. If you like TLOS only, that's fine. But does that mean that you have to be a jack-ass to the opposite fanbase just because they don't like your games? If someone says, "classic spyro sucks" or "TLOS sucks", do you really have to act like a whiny 5 year old and spend about five minuets of your life complaining to that person, who is only stating his/her opinion? Every game has its haters, your games aren't god's gifts, shesh.

I understand the people who don't like the whiny part of each fandum, however. Those people really annoy me, the young TLOS/DotD fanbrats acting extremely creepy, while the classic fanbrats dis other people for stupid reasons. Those people are idiots, seriously. They give us all a bad name, both, the mature classic fans and the TLOS fans.

Yeah, some DotD fanboys are mostly adults who played the game because of Cynder's design. Ugh...

And yeah, taking part of flame wars is extremely annoying for both series Spyro fans, including me. Nowadays, there are options on which universe a Spyro game will take place in, and some fans never open Both series option. In my opinion, that isn't fair for us. The other fans get their option to choose, but not both series Spyro fans.

Meh, I can't imagine people playing the game JUST for Cynder's design, at least not on a wide scale. Dead or Alive, maybe, DotD, I doubt it. I'd say they got creepy after playing the game.

Yeah, I try to stray away from flame wars...they're getting old....people should try Ice, Earth or Electricity wars!smilie

Some fans were pervy for DotD Cynder when the first screenshot of her was released. I was there when one perverted Spyro fan began posting topics about DotD Cynder on the old Sierra forums.

I'm glad DotD Cynder isn't going to be in the next game with EL not being as developer.

I'd imagine they'll keep them teen, as it means they can do more moves. I think it will be sensible to do that. I wonder if they'll make Cynder appear undeniably black, but as a teen....

I think they'll make them appear to be teens or around that age, just like DotD, but they'll have a new style/slightly different design because of the new developer. Not that it matters, but that's what I'm guessing.

Black is color what her scales are supposed to be in the first place, until EL screwed up on the coloring. I doubt they'll keep the teen look, unless the producers of SK have other ideas.

Yeah, as said before, they probably might have looked at those pictures where Cynder appeared almost purple. I like her black, but the color change isn't what bothered me.. a few characters slightly changed colors in DotD.

I didn't mind the colour changes in DotD, on any of the characters. And I understand why they made Cynder a little violet, and she still appears black in certain areas. If you play the next-gen version of DotD on a Full-HDTV, Cynder appears completely black in dark areas, and can sometimes be difficult to see.

Although, if the next game is a continuation of DotD and they make them small again, there will be some raised eyebrows.

And Spyro appeared pink in some bright areas. He's always glowing on my game. So yeah, they screwed up the colors, but it'll be fixed in the next game if they pay attention to the character colors in ANB and TEN. Especially considering how the fans reacted to the color change (badly).

Yeah, a year is long enough for the producers to look at our opinions on DotD and the other LoS games from the Activison forums and on other spyro forums. They should already know their mistakes and know what to do to make them up for us, by making changes.

They don't really glow in the next-gen versions. The game was made with the 360 and PS3 in mind, I believe. The PS2 and Wii versions were probably last minute ports(hence thay have weird glitches not present in the 360 and PS3 versions).
