I think no religious topics/posts should be a new rule. [CLOSED]

OK, I've been seeing a LOT of spamming and fighting in these topics, and even in GBs, and they need to stop. I think Christians should zip it about their religion and hate for atheists, and atheists should zip it with the hating Christians, and joking about religion. It's all getting out of hand! In RPs, GBs, topics, posts, and, from what I hear, even PMs. It's all stupid, and worthless. So I suggest it becomes a rule to not mention ANY of this stuff. It can really hurt people.

Anybody else agrees? (Don't flame me for this, guys. I'm not on either side at this rate, I'm only trying to keep things from falling apart.)

I'm getting closer and closer to agreeing with this every day. As I said before, it's great that we all have the privilege to talk about this stuff, but certain people are abusing the privilege. I still think it would be way better if we could just get some stronger enforcement against trolling instead.

While I do agree with this, simply banning it from being mentioned won't stop the fights. People will still bring it up because they like to start things and unknowingly, or fully aware of it who knows with people on here, flame baiting their posts with it.

Just really saying that even if it is banned people will still go around it to talk about it for the heck of it just like people go around the other rules on the forum. It's a good idea but even if it is enforced it won't hold up.

Yeah, I agree with this, but the least we can do is to discourage this sort of behavior.

I agree with you completely, it doesn't really need to be brought up, even in my college, you're not supposed to talk about religion, or persuade anyone to like religion, a teacher was telling me that it's actually against the rules.

I kind of don't agree with you, I don't think that it should be encouraged as it could lead to arguements and people getting upset, so really it's not worth talking about.

Yeah, but arguments break out even without the trolls. When Athiests don't agree with Christians, and vice-versa.

Yep, which is why I suggested stronger regulation against trolling. Although, realistically, that will never happen seeing as there are no mods. :P

I personally feel its okay to state your beliefs, for example "I am a Christian/ Atheist" but not take it to far such as; "You will burn in Hell forever" or something like that. And the problem is there are Extremists on the site who would offend anybody to get their beliefs across. For example, the recent "homophobe" case... That ended in tears.

Exactly, because Guestbooks are your personal space, you you can technically have your veiws there at the least, as long as they don't go too far.

Also what helps these arguments is the amount of Extremists who are trying to convert other Users. That helps alot (!)

I was pretty sure most of the users were tolerent of homosexuality/ bisexuality... even the ones that saw it wrong.

I still stick by my suggestion to only ban the users who intentionally make offensive posts. It's not that hard to state your beleifs without offending others. I've seen Christian users get too extreme trying to convert people, and on the other hand, I've seen Athiests saying offensive things just to make Christians mad, and starting fights. Everyone who is doing that should stop so we can have peace. That's just my opinion though.

TBH, I only get offensive if somebody offends my sexuality or beliefs, being Atheist. If it were peace, that'd be lovely.

You can't truly be forced into a religion. You can pretend to be of a certain religion yet be another, I do it all the time.
