Sackboy I can understand. He's in a game that's very recent compared to Spyro. I didn't even know his name until two weeks ago!

Hey, Duke Nukem! The only memory I have of that character is when my brother beat me with a Gaming Magazine with Duke Nukem on the cover because I didn't tell him about Duke Nukem Forever.

One thing that I'm surprised of is that people remember Max Payne and put him on the list. That makes me a happy camper.

One thing that pisses me off is that Ash is on the list, and higher than Spyro. Ash is not a video game character.

And one thing that disappoints me but isn't surprising is that Master Chief is #3, which is highly overrated.

Ah, but Crash has made twice the amount of money made by Spyro, sadly- 40 million Crash games sold, 20 million Spyro games. They may be 'partners', but you could look at Sonic and Mario in the same position; they've had cameos together, the lot, yet Mario has sold far more then Sonic and would be higher on the list... Shame, really.

Also I must note that Naruto isn't a video game character. Rather, he is just in a bunch of games based on the anime. Same applies to Goku.

I'm also rather surprised that Altair got a higher spot then Ezio, when everybody agrees that Assassin's Creed 2 was better than the first.

And I actually figured that Rayman would've been on this list.

You have a point there. But still, this shouldn't be based on sales.

I'm suprised Mario is higher than Sonic. In 2009, Sonic became the UK's most popular VG character.

Huh? What year is that? I've got 2010's, and Spyro wasn't even put at 50, when readers voted for their top 50 gaming series. Mario was at 6 or 31 or something, and Halo was beaten by only The Legend of Zelda. That just shows how much people overrate FPSs now. D: I think Crash was at only 41 or something too and was pretty close to Sonic.

Ehh, to be honest, this is all based on opinion, so I don't really pay attention to stuff like this.

Last I checked, Halo was actually #1. Zelda was #2, and CoD was #3. You are right about Mario being #6, which disgusted me to no end to see that a franchise that SAVED video games be out-ranked by an overrated franchise (Halo), and a franchise that Activision is slowly raping (CoD).

The top ten, in ascending order, are Grand Theft Auto, Super Smash Bros., Gears of War, World of Warcraft, Super Mario Bros., Metal Gear, Guitair Hero, The Legend of Zelda, Call of Duty and Halo. This is the third time I've read the book, and nobody even mentions or hints Spyro once. That is just sad. And more alarming are the rest of the records: Crash is at 49, Mario Kart is at 47, Ratchet & Clank is at 40, though I only played it once, Sonic is at 15 and Pokemon is 11th. Also, I've never played either of these, but LBP and Tomb Raider are 27th and 24th respecitvely.

These are what people voted for... This has just become a world to see who can make the best war game.

yes, it saddens me also that the world of gaming has fallen into insipid " see how many people you can shoot with a gun" blood-bucket games.

But I agree about how nowadays people only want to play FPS and nothing else. And I really hate it how those type of games end up getting alot of praise while they leave other genres in the dust.

At school today, I was talking to someone about LBP 2, and the new Ratchet game, when someone else said, 'So, you're a gamer?' And someone else answered: 'Nah, she doesn't play GTA or COD.' Seriously? You need to play those overated 'games' to be a gamer?!? It's just a fad, as there was in the 90's with Pokemon... At least Pokemon was a geniunely great idea and game.

Bullcrap. You don't need to play those games to be a gamer. Just like how that guy on Youtube once said that you need to LOVE PS3 to be a hardcore gamer. I'm a hardcore gamer, and I don't even own a damn PS3.

And someone didn't watch E3. I remember them mentioning a new Rayman game for about a minute, then going on to show a big trailer for Rabbids Travel Through Time.

CoD is getting boring now, and GTA is messed up.

That list's lack of any Psychonauts characters bothers me.
