All he said was "a Spyro game," not "the next game."

But yeah, I kind of doubt they will, at least not any time soon, although there have been Spyro cell phone games in the past.

Doesn't the I pad use I phone apps? If so, could you not play an I phone version of a previous game on the I pad?

Yes, the iPad plays all iPod apps and almost all iPhone apps. However, it would make more sense for an iPad version to take full advantage of the hardware.
