And the bosses laugh at Spyro, like the Ice King, Executioner, the Spirit Guardians, whenever they hit him. Similar to when the enemies from the Old Spyro laugh at Spyro when they succeeded in hitting him.

I think a true reference should be more obvious; they should at least maintain the same tone and character personalities that were there since day one.

A reference doesn't have to be "BOOM! IN YOUR FACE!" Sometimes they require a little examination.

One great example is in The Sonic Simulator in Sonic Colours, some levels have areas based on those from the Genesis Sonic games.

Also, when the Executioner came out and was introduced to Spyro to kill at him, he pointed and laughed, I believe. It reminded me of how he was laughed at for his size by his larger enemies in the Original Series.

i miss hunter being a crazy-manta-riding-forget-me-not smilie but the new silent-righteous-do-or-die type is cool too.. they both have thier merits..

the references were there in los but i'd prefer it if they just made remakes of the old ones.. maybe the places in the old games have been overrun and he has to go back there as an older dragon to sort it out.. -drifts off into space- sorry! i'll behave now, i'm a die hard fan of 'Spyro the Dragon' smilie

I used to be a die hard fan of Spyro in the 90's, not so much now.

This isn't a reference, it's more just a coincidental similarity.

When I see Ignitus, I always think of the Peace Keepers dragons from Spyro 1, which is quite fitting, seeing as Ignitus is one of the Guardians and is "a keeper of the peace".

Well convexity breath could be a reference to spyro's magic powers in SL since their both purple.

And Malefor is a refernece to the sorceress.
