Does the Floating Isles in DotD make anyone think of Dream Weavers from Spyro 1, or is it just me?
I does. The producers may have referenced the Dream Weavers world with their Floating Islands.

I have always thought there is a possible connection. It's fun to try establish one. The only thing I can't work out is how the dragons got modern technology(Classic Spyro). One things for sure though:
The next game will probably be LoS and clear up some things.

I don't believe in the cave man thing but that is a different conversation.
It is still ridiculous how we once only looked at lightning in the sky and now we have it in our kitchens, bedrooms, living rooms,etc... this is kinda going off topic here so to get back on topic: I hope the next spyro game can be successful and get spyro back on track. then there may actually be a day where we'll see things like a movie and maybe spin-off games and all the stuff most popular game series have.

Yeah, but remember, the ETD/AHT period was a dark time for the Spyro franchise, popularity wise. LoS got Spyro a recognizable identity again. From a money stand point, Activision would be unwise to can LoS.

Seriously, Activision would ruin Classic Spyro. Let's just stick with the slightly more violent trilogy. Activision are used to creating violent games anyway.

He probably won't be, but ANB sold far better than most - But the question remains, was it because people didn't realise the change (myself included at the time) and then lost interest? Or was it because TEN was too hard and got lesser reviews? Activision will need to work out the best route, which isn't always as simple as we may think. That's why I don't believe it's set in stone it will be the Legend series, but at the same time I'm not saying it's a higher chance it will be classic.

I myself, only gained interest in the summer. When I first seen ANB on sale, I didn't realise it was a reboot. But I stopped playing Spyro at that point anyway. But I am back supporting the little guy again! I think LoS deserves to continue on and develop, both storywise and gameplay wise.

I think its gonna be in the Los universe but it will have lots of elements from the old spyro. that would be a good move in my opinion since lots of fans seem to like the idea. but who really knows for a little bit we thought it could of been an MMO.
I don't think the spyro will ever be as popular as he was before(at least not without one great game) but the next game hopefully will accomplish something. Also, I think that Tlos was much more violent then the old games. still a kids game but more violent surely.

I actually like the idea of both series being connected. I've always imagined since the beginning of TEN that TLOS was the past of the Original Spyro.
Hey, that made me think of something. The game, Spyro's Kingdom, the kingdom might have been made long ago, when Legend Spyro excised. And now, many years later, original Spyro sees the kingdom, and walks in side and gets told stories and all that. Which is why the name is called Spyro the Legend: Spyro's Kingdom. Just an idea. ![]() Quote: Darby
But the thing is, I wasn't dissing TLOS, if that's what you're thinking. And about that pointless idea, Aura said that in her post, Quote:
but I accidentally made it seem like I said that I believe that liking both series was pointless... I was responding to that little bit. My mistake, I was in a rush, because it was nearly midnight and I had to go to bed.... Quote: Aura24

To me, it just proves that TLOS can be the past of original Spyro if done right. Sheila said that dragons lived in the Forgotten Worlds long ago, so Legend Spyro could have lived there. And some places in TLOS can be related to levels in the original Spyro universe. Cloud Spires is similar to Floating Islands IMHO.
