There were like thousands of them still left when they ran from the gollum, But after the gollum was defeated they never came back, If they fled then that would be pointless since they had a huge advantage against Dragon City and they couldn't have been all killed by Spyro and Cynder because they only fought up to about a hundred enemies to reach Malefor.
Is their a reason why they never came back or is it just a plot hole the creators forgot about?

Hmm... Perhaps they ran off when Spyro and Cynder defeated the Golem, maybe to go to other areas and stop the dragons from reaching Malefor- the Burned Lands, Destroyer and Dam- while they could before the Belt of Fire was complete and blocked their path.

I thought they were retreating when the Golem was coming from under the city. Who knows they maybe ran off and got incinerated in the flames from the destroyer. Something along the lines of what Cynderfyre said.

Now that you've mentioned it, that is rather weird. We've just found yet another plot hole in DOTD. o.o

I always thought that once the Golem was defeated, they ran away out of cowardice, as their 'Ace' had been killed. As for when the Golem appeared, I assumed they were 'retreating' to get out of its way. Also...please avoid misspelling it 'Gollum', otherwise you're gonna make me think of The Lord of the Rings. |

The army retreated to allow the Golem to destroy the City, that's why.

I think since Malefor created them, when he was defeated, the perished.

I guess. But they probably perished after Malefor was defeated.

It's not a plothole. The army retreated, to allow the Golem to destroy Dragon City.

Un less they knew about the destroyer coming and they would leave it 2 him....I don't really know. The game is kinda confusing.

Yeah, but then that doesn't explain how they all just disappeared. Surely they'd still hang around in wait?

I was figuring this as well, although to reply of: Quote: Spyroo
I figured again that the Golem would just finish the job for them, so that there may not've been a reason for them to stick around any longer. I mean, the Golem is huge and stronger then them - but they could've still helped him out. I really don't know. |
