With how long they've been keeping us in the dark, it's clear they're doing *something*. I'm just not sure if I should be excited or worried about that. The fact that they got rid of Rebecca Kneubuhl and Gabriel Mann as the composers really makes me wonder what they're planning.

I agree, the more information they give out, the more fans will keep on bugging the creators about the plot, gameplay, etc. It's best to keep Spyro on a low profile right now, then when they have the game pretty developed, story and all, they can give us the more juicy details, rather than "Here's 5 seconds of the new theme song to the next Spyro game!" ![]()

Here: http://www.linkedin.com/pub/irene-yue-zheng/14/A18/3A8 A user found this on a profile of someone working with Activision. Search for the word "Spyro" on the site above, and it will show that the person has conducted title tests for the next game of Spyro. It shows that the person, Irene Zheng, has: "Analyzed advertising effectiveness studies (Renault Twizy, Toyota Prius & Reese’s) for online games “The Sims 3” from Electronic Arts (EA) and “NCAA Football ‘11”. Conducted title tests for the game “Spyro” from Activision."

Thanks for enlightening me, everyone!
Hmm, examining this little bit of info... I can't say it's anything solid, actually ^^; It just says she did title tests, but it doesn't say if it's for past games or games currently being developed. This could really just be a false alarm; or it could very well be true. I don't mean to be a party pooper, but I'm just saying it's not necessarily 100%.

If you read carefully at the date of the resume when she was the Market Research and Analysis Intern, the date was between March - August 2010 when she did the game title tests. She did it recently.

Ahhhhh... I missed that the first time. You have a fine point there. This makes the information a lot more reliable. We might very well have a Spyro game on our hands soon yet.
...now, the best question is, does anyone know this person's email? And does anyone want to pester her with questions about what kind of titles she sorted through? :P

From the topic Random Spyro Thing, which the Spyro game title tests was discovered by BurningGnorc. Obviously, it shows that the person did title tests for the next Spyro game during March - August 2010. So, we should expect official news on it soon or later this year or next.

Hey, I have a theory. In our unit about media and advertising at school, my teacher said that advertising for toys, video games, and such drastically increases around October until Christmas. My point here is that we might get some news or even an advertisement in that time period because that would most likely be when Activision would get the most money/benefit from revealing it. In fact, they may just be waiting for that time and are depriving us of news to build the suspense. What do you guys think?

Then it shall be December 25th.
Oh here's an idea, why don't they have it for pre teens, the art of Myst 3 and give it to ubi-soft. It's not that easy to advertise, and the players certainly have changed. back in 1998-2002, the players use to be young to teen. Now they have become pre teen to adult, not to be nasty. But the Spyro game has to be more realistic, and be literally meant for older kids. You know how well starcraft 2 sold, maybe they should just as well make Spyro like Percy Jackson. Then they should have the plot like FF7.

They aren't giving new information until at least the beginning of October. and there won't be any news until December, but if they do today, someone is going to be fired. Activision Blizzard has a strict advertising policy since June 2008. At least they got very strict since they lost Sierra.
Activision has been strict about leaks before, but not as strict. The reason, Activision is loosing money because they are making too many games. So to prevent that, they blocked many of the advertising so they wouldn't make false games like they did in the past. But this is just an-mature information, so just shoot me if I'm wrong. Also all video game companies tend to have strict advertising policies. But Sierra wasn't as strict as they should have been with some of their games
