So bassically there has been a lot of trolls lately. Gary_Oak,Texas_Gal, Placeholder943,Wolfgirl, and I am not sure who else. Placeholder943 was the same person as Gary_Oak, as he admitted it in his signature. I alerted Dark, and now he's banned, but what about the rest of them? Texas_Gal is banned, and Wolfgirl is also the same person as Gary_Oak, (Or at least I've heard). We need to come up with a new system that bans anyone with the same email or IP address as a riptoed member. If we don't come up with something like this soon, this stupid person is just going to make more and more accounts.

I know... But I hate them, and try to just ignore them.

I try to ignore them to, but we still can't ignore the problem forever. Evantullay some gullible noob is going to start responding to all these trolls and then there will be war.

And that's exactly the reason why trolls come; because the site here is full of very young members who are gullible and naive.
It's a REALITY that exists on many forums, simply due to the nature and demography (age group and the people's interests) of a site.

Exactly. The best thing to do is to ignore them. If everyone does that, and never respond to them at all, they will just get bored and leave

However, then there are the newbies who always just feed the trolls.

Hmm... IMO you do need a new system Dark. I know you can change IP's and that, maybe you could find a list of IP's that are used for browsing securely and also ban IP's for School Un-Filter server's aswell? Just an idea, then make it block the router IP... Probably a fail but hey, I think of this crap daily for fun.

im a 10 year old and trolls don't really bother me but yes hey if you want i can help ya cause my dads a complete computer genius well hes a scientest but.........he loves computers and i can ask if it is possible to block them fully without them coming back with new email addresses[probally not possible].

It's not a question of who can resolve the issue. Whether you're a dunce or a computer genius isn't going to solve a problem that many other forums have been having. Because if there was a solution, trolling would be a lot less common. The best thing to do is for people to gain some tolerance, as well as not make a situation worse if trolling does occur.

Bite your fingers and move on, no sense in making matters worse by starting crap with a user that's going to be banned in less than a day.

Is it me or is everyone overreacting to the trolls? Hardly anything the trolls have been doing has been bad; they just want to get a reaction out of people and that can be fixed.

I heard that this doesn't work, sadly. They will still keep doing this until they get banned I've heard.

DS and my Wiki have an IP ban, but it's easy to hide or change your IP.

Pretty much every forum has an IP bans. If a site has a rule against multiple accounts, it's usually a good idea to tell the admin if someone else using the same IP wants to make an account too so they don't mistakenly think you have two accounts.

I hope the site learns how to just have fun with the trolls rather than just blow it for the few who already do. Why discriminate against trolls? They are useful (to us) members of the internet society that provide entertaining arguments even though some would be pi**ed by it.

Useful isn't the right word. Rather, trolls just provide an act of comedic relief at best. Like scratching an insect bite, it only gets worse if you make a big issue out of it - which unfortunately most people on this site do.

I've found that telling most people here not to feed trolls doesn't work very well. Most of the time they keep coming back for more and try to outsmart the troll. Which doesn't actually work since they're err. . . trolls.

Young kids are naive like fishbait. If I posted in forums at the age of 12, I'd probably do that too. It's just something you don't grow out of instantly at that age.

That's the problem, most people don't understand their sense of humor. Even then, some trolls go too far, like Blackholes not understanding how those jesus pics can be seen as offensive.

I don't mind some user having fun, but there should be some limits to it.
