Hello everyone. Long time since I graduated TLOS, but now I began to carefully study every moment of the game. Well, the DOTD, we learn that Cynder (as Spyro) has four powers. This has been created to enable the function of two players. However, after re-EN switch, I realized that something is not right. That is to say: Spyro has four powers because it is the legendary purple dragon, but others, simply dragons have only one power. But Cynder has more of them. It is not a dragon, no element. I understand this has been established for produkcjii but I was curious. Is it too so you intrigued? This means that Cynder is not simply a dragon that has wsobie something special ... that there was only the first egg leprzym found by an army of monkeys, but much more ... It has four powers! Can anybody explain this?

She got her Dark power from Malefor. But when she turned good her powers stayed with her.

Her powers probably come from her tuition with Malefor/the Dark Master. I'm pretty sure most Dragons don't have fear or darkness or poison, regardless of having one or more abilities. The only one which I would say was her natural ability was wind.

oh yeah i remember in the 1st level when they touch the crystal the chronicler says being a minion of the dark it has giving you unusal powers no other dragon and wield

Cynder was corrupt, so she came off with unusual abilities. The Chronicler said something like "Cynder, while most dragons can master only one element, your exposure to the darkness has left you with abilities most uncommon." as GrandSpyro18 pointed out.
Personally, I believe Wind could be her natural element. Poison, fear and shadow are all likely to be due to her darkness.

Let's face it, when another purple dragon was layed, the one before was dead for while... Because power one purple dragon is enought to shake with laws of nature... Heck, Spyro clearly messed up with gravity at end of DOTD, act of something this bit- errr... vixen can't mess with. Problem rised when Malefor came back secconds before ANB... Nature gave up, and started offering purple dragon status/power/whatever as it was Linux, the only reason the guardins stayed one-elemented was because they were fine with their DOSes...

The chronicler said something very similar to this when Cynder got her powers. Ether you didn't listen/read, or you ignored it altogether.

A purple dragon is born once every ten generations, plus her egg was black from the beginning. And the chronicler said himself that a dragon can only master a single element. End of story.

And Cynder has a black book in TEN, we could see that.

Oh come on, everabody knows that Erdhatz (Chronicler's name) was good at reading the chronicles, but patheticly moronic at understanding them and making theories

I wouldn't use colour for powers, I mean, in a genetical sense, any dragon could be born with any colour and could have had a power completely contradicting their colour. I know this is a game, but ignoring the obvious "Faries give the eggs" scenario, which is similar to the Stalk thing we say to our kids, the parents could have been black or any colour, but the dominant genes could have been Black and Wind, thus giving her those attributes. I could also be any other power too. Though, in order for her to get dark powers would be to the corruption.

Shes a dark colour because if she hadnt have been turned evil and infected with shadow I think her natural coulour would have been a stormy gray colour symbolizing Wind/storms so when the shadow element got into her her scales darkend

Did I metion stupidy of Erdhatz's theories already?

If her powers came from Malefor, why did we only see her use fire in ANB, but not the powers of DotD? Also, why do we see her use Wind, poison, shadow and fear in DotD, but not fire?

Maybe in the evil form she lost all powers (except for the fire, that she haven't before) but the real Cynder acquired new powers due to her exposition to Malefor.

I think that Cynder is kind of like a dark version of a purple dragon. I mean, look at their elements, they each have similar characteristics:

Spyro's Fire breath and Cynder's Poison breath are very much alike. For Spyro, when you hit R2, he shoots fire. For Cynder, when you hit R2, she shoots poison. In Spyro's "Comet dash", Spyro sort of encases himself in fire, and then shoots himself forward. In Cynder's "Scorpian Tail Strike", it is very much similar to Spyro's "Comet dash". She encases herself in poison, and then shoots herself forward.

Spyro's Ice breath and Cynder's Wind breath are also very much alike. For Spyro, when you hit R2, he shoots iceicles from his mouth. For Cynder, when you hit R2, she blasts a wave of wind from her mouth. Spyro and Cynder's advanced ice and wind abilities are almost exactly alike. Spyro creates a snowstorm and Cynder creates a tornado (which look almost exactly like eachother).

Spyro's Earth breath and Cynder's Shadow breath are also alike. For Spyro, when you hold down R2, he encases himself in a rock. For Cynder, when you hold down R2, she encases herself in shadow. Also, Spyro's Earth Missle and Cynder's Shadow Fire are sort of the same.

Spyro's Electricity breath and Cynder's Fear breath are somewhat alike, in ways I cannot put into words.

Based on the similarities of their abilities, this leads me to believe that Cynder is like a dark version of Spyro, does anyone agree?

Oh, and also, when Malefor turns to darkness, maybe he finds a way to adapt his purple dragon abilities into a dark form. Like Fire adapts to Poison, Electricity adapts to Fear, Ice adapts to Wind, and Earth adapts to Shadow.

Of course Captain Obvious, SHE IS PURPLE DRAGON! And if someone mentions Erdhatz with his theory that Cynder got her power from exposure to darkness again, I swear I will Catastrophe Limit Break, because this is getting riddiculous!

Peaople say she's black but she's totally purpl in appearance. Even in the PS2 version which is NOT HD (ppl say HD black looks purple) she looks unmistakably purple. Anyway, we fought about this already and I'm not in the mood for a fight.

It's not about the color of just about capacity ... In addition, no one knows how well did the Cynder ... Actually, the egg ... Well, because the egg Spyro from the beginning was protecting no to know, but Cynder ... hm ...

I do not wish to start a fight, but I would like to point out my opinion:
I think Cynder is a black dragon because:

1. (This reason may seem obvious, but it is a reason, nonetheless) When Ignitus describes Cynder to Spyro, he makes it clear she is a black dragon.

2. (This is the main reason I think Cynder is a black dragon) In Dawn of the Dragon, when everyone is traveling through the Ruins of Warfang to confront the golem, Ignitus says (I do believe) something about there only being two purple dragons known to existance: Spyro and Malefor.

Like I said this is my opinion so if you think differently, you are most certainly entitled to your opinion. I personally just don't understand how Cynder could be a purple dragon, since only one purple dragon is born once every ten generations (no wonder there are claimed to be two!).
