I was wandering around on unseen64 and found this out

Agent 9 / Prime 8
Agent 9 is a character from the Spyro The Dragon game series, a space monkey that first appeared in Spyro: Year of the Dragon for the original Playstation. Sometimes in 2003 / 2004, Vivendi Universal wanted to use Agent 9 to be the protagonist of his own platform adventure game, out from the Spyro world.

Vivendi asked to Blue Tongue Entertainment to create the initial concept for this new project, in which Agent 9 became a James-Bond-alike spy, but after a series of focus group with kids, they had to redesign the character to make him more “cool” to appeal more to the right audience. Agent 9 became Prime 8, with a more “hip” look and a gameplay that should have been similar to the Ratchet & Clank series. Sadly, even after this redesign, something went wrong during the development and Prime 8 was never released.

The Blue Tongue project was not the only Agent 9 in development: another pitch was asked to Backbone Entertainment. Backbone created a series of concept designs more true to the original character (as seen in Spyro the Dragon). In the end there were at least 2 different “Agent 9″ projects, but we can speculate that Vivendi Universal did not like any of them and these games were never finished.

Yea, I made a topic about the cancelled game months ago. I find it wierd that no one ever talks about it.

This looked like a cool game.They should have finished it.

I honestly think that Shelia would have a better spin-off game, but that's just my opinion. I wish we had more info about this game though. :/

It looks good an all, but I feel that Sgt. Byrd would be better, because it would be a good storyline. Sgt. Byrd was raised (and possibly trained) by humming birds, and then became the leader of some army. There could be more about him that we don't even know, and it would make a great game if done properly.

I would've loved an Agent 9 game above any other spin off. He was one of my fave characters really - And that game looked pretty cool.

Wooh, thank god they didn't release this. No offense, but I hate Agent 9. I can't stand the levels where you have to play as him in the first place.

How 'bout Hunter: The Game?

I'd personally like a whole game based around Hunter, what with him being one of my favorites among Spyro characters ^W^

Other one would be a game based around Ripto... 8D

They should make a Spyro game where you can play different storylines with the most popular villains. That would be neat.

I so agree there! Sheila was my favorite playable character. But this game looks cool, I probably would've bought it. Too bad it was never finished.

I actually imagined it would be some shooter game inside some random laboratory. But, it actually has a whole pile of other things it in too. :3
