I think both old and new spyro are awesome.i admit i like orginal a little more,but i enjoy both of them,and i dont think you can say one is better then the other becuase they both have their ups and downs.

In LOS i liked the combos, different elements, different furys, dragon time, training levels, enemy health bars and air slow-mo finishing moves, its ashame that they got ride of most of that in DOTD. In the originals there was more of a world to explore, loads of levels, free-roam, skating, larger range of different enemys, challenges and you could even play as different characters.

My favourite of the two is the LOS because of the fighting but i admit i think things went abit wrong with DOTD, i still like the originals though they bring good memories of my childhood when i first used a playstation.

If they ever did do a mix of the two one thing i think they should do is let you play as other characters like in the originals so you could play as hunter and other people and have a fighting system for them, that would be very interesting.

I liked the old better, but I have to admit that the new did have a few interesting qualities.

My favorite classic game is Year of the Dragon and my favorite new game is Dawn of the Dragon... does anyone consider this werid?

I liked both of the series. My fav of the original has to be Year of the Dragon because it was the first game where u got to play as someone other than Spyro. However, I didn't really like the skating parts. I don't know, I just found it really annoying.
My fav of the new series has to be DotD, because of the fact you could play as Cynder and how she had her own set of Elements. However, I did miss the free-roam the originals had.

I was thinking of the next Spyro game being set in the LoS universe, but you can travel to the locations you went in the trilogy, like Tall Plains and the Dragon City, by flight (similar to when the old Spyro flies through the portals to other worlds) and help the inhabitants living there fight off the remains of Malefor's army in a Old Spyro fashion. You get what I'm saying?

Yeah, i totally get it. Thats actually a great idea. It does tie in the old Spyro style to the new games. I like it!

Could work if you extend it.

If Activision does have time to do such things, then I would be happy.

I never played any of the newer games, only the classics. I wish I did play the newer games though.

i like them both-i mean, until coming to this site, i didn't really think of anything i'd change to LoS, but i do love them both. i just need to get DotD and i'll probably have more to say.

however, growing up on the classics, they will always be my favourites...the first three at least but still.

Has anyone here in this topic had fans flaming on you because you like both series, instead of solely going with the Old Spyro or the New Spyro?

I had some fans who flamed me a lot on YT, because I liked both series and not the Old Spyro.

I don't see a problem with people liking both sides instead of choosing one.

Me neither, but it seems like a big deal to the Old Spyro fans who flamed me because of it.

Anyway, yeah... I'm a neutral fan, I don't see any point in trying to compare it, especially seeing as the only real similaritys between the two series are a few of the characters. Its like, trying to compare Pizza with a Cheese Toasty, because they both have cooked Cheese

I know, it makes me glad that I didn't become one of those fans who would flame other Spyro fans just because they didn't stick with the Old Spyro.

I think there's a difference between absolutely hating on one series of the Spyro games and just comparing them. I like both, but obviously others would disagree.

Yes, I have too... But these people defy logic...

YT is like Flame Central. If you say 'I like both series of Spyro.' in an Old Spyro video, you'll get bashed and flamed like crazy by fans who hate the new series.

A majority of YT users aren't really what I could 'smart'. You're right - All I see is flaming/hating/idiocy on that site. Some good vids, but a load of stupid random ones (you know - You go to watch, it starts off okay then some random character will pop out and scream at full blast, killing your ears).

Those kind of Old Spyro users now rarely go on my channel now, since I block them. I don't see what's wrong with liking both series of Spyro.

I like them both the same.

I like Classic Spyro because the games are longer, and you can go back to levels you've done before (Sometimes) and also the Side-Quests.

I also like TLoS Spyro because there is a new storyline, new enemies, and I also like the serious nature of the series.

That's because there isn't anything wrong with it.

To some Old Spyro fans, it looked like a big deal to them, if they're flaming fans who like both series.

I haven't come across anyone who uses that as leverage in an old vs new arguement, but yeah you're right.

Yoshi just used that as an excuse, and I've known loads of people do the same...

Although I am not as fond of the LOS games as the original games, I like the Spyros themselves the same amount.

I think all fans should play both old and new. So they can make a more informed decision about which is better. Fine if ppl like LOS better, but it vexes me when ppl who never played the oldies say LOS is better, and also when ppl who say classic is better without playing LOS. As for anyone missing out, I think that's a matter of opinion, but how can anyone know if people or even they are missing out if they neglect one or the other?
