Flying did have too much hype in my opinion,but I liked it a lot better then gliding.I hate gliding becuase you can't gain altitude and it makes you die if you miss a stupid ledge or platform or something.I think flying has a lot of potential if they just work out the few bugs.

I think it was awesome because, of course, it's the first game with free flight, but I think it would be better if there wasn't so much of a height limit and so many invisible walls. >< I'd like to explore a bit more.

The flying was quite useful because it was easier to reach those really difficult and high places as well as avoid damage. Unfortunate how the game was so limited, it felt like the flying was wasted.

I know though and it always works for me, but I only have on the ps2. First you fly and you can land wherever you want so fly then when you want to stop. Hold the O button (or X if it doesn't work) and when you want todrop down, let go of the button.

I use the PS2 version too, and I can get down, but it still takes longer than it does in previous games, to just drop in mid-air.

I use X Box 360.

This is how you're meant to: Fly, Hold the jump button, and when Spyro/Cynder slow down, release it.

Well it is kind of a stupid post, just read the manual, DURR. There is even tutorial messages that pop up at the beginning of the game anyway.

I think free flight should be an unlockable; something you get after you beat the final boss/reach 100%. For gamers who are impatient or who take a really long time to do those things there should also be a cheat to unlock it in the prima guide or on the game's site or something.

Once you've unlocked it, the free flight should be truely unlimited. You should be able to fly over trees, boulders, buildings, debris, enemies, lakes, canyons, etc. You should be able to fly so high you are amoung the clouds and maybe even fly from world to world, assuming they are like islands the way they were in ANB.

Actually, if you go really high, you can. I do it all the time in the Burned Lands.

You can do it in VoA too, It's especially easy if you use Spyro's Ice Storm with Unlimited Mana.

I think it's great that Spyro can finally fly! The only time he could fly freely instead of gliding was during the flight courses that only lasted a few minutes!

i know but like, in da old games he was like 9 and he didn't learn but he's like 15 in the newer ones so, adolescenses start learning to fly
