Chapter12

Hunter woke up to the sound of fighting.He heard swords clanking,arrows shooting,and also the sound of blasts.He looked up and saw that a dragon was attacking the village using dark powers to destroy everything.Impossible,Hunter thoughtMalefor was defeated,who is attacking us?

He got closer and saw that it was Spyro who was attacking the village.He was very confused."Spyro!"He shouted"Why are you doing this?!"Instead of answering Spyro just glared at him and shot a beam of darkness in his direction.Hunter evaded the shot and landed near Cheif Prowlus.

"Hunter you're finally awake."Prowlus said."Help us fight him off."

Hunter looked over and saw a wave of cheetah warriors charge at Spyro and then get blasted back by him.The situation was bad."Cheif Prowlus,we cant fight him he is too strong.",Hunter said.

Prowlus could not believe what Hunter was suggesting."We can't just give up.",Prowlus said angrily.

"I'm not saying give up",Hunter replied."What we need to do is retreat to Warfang and get help."

Cheif Prowlus looked like he was about to protest but then noticed just how bad the battle was going."Fine",he said sadly."We will retreat.""Fall back!",he ordered.

The cheetahs ran from the village towards Warfang.Surprisingly very few of them were killed,but the village was in ruins.Spyro began to chase them."The fools",he thought."They can't escape me."

That happened quick! Good chapter.

Chapter13

The apes moved in on Cynder and Sparx.Cynder slashed 2 of them with her claws.One attempted to hit her over the head but she saw him in time and ducked.Another one tried to grab Sparx but Cynder shot poison at him.Then 10 more apes came out.Cynder killed 3 of them,and 25 more came in their place.She was backed up against a tree.I can't fight them all off,Cynder thought.She needed an idea fast.

Then she saw a skull and crossbones flag and a group of pirates charged out.Great,Cynder thoughtNow I have to deal with pirates too.The apes became distracted and moved to fight off the pirates.This was their chance.Cynder and Sparx took off.When they just about made it they heard Thal's voice.

"Well,Well,Well",He said."Thought you could escape me?""You two are very foolish."

"What is it that you want from us?",Cynder asked him.

"I need help getting back my staff.",Thal replied with a calmness that was almost eerie."Your purple friend knocked it down a chasm and shattered it."

"How are we supposed to help you?",Cynder asked.

"I want you to go down there with me.""And help protect me while I put it back together."

"I don't think so.",Cynder replied.Then she used her fear breath on Thal to stun him.After that her and Sparx flew away and headed towards Warfang.

Meanwhile at Warfang.........

"Why have Spyro and Cynder not returned yet?",Terrador asked the other two elders.

"I don't know",Volteer replied."Last I saw them Cynder told me they had to deliver a message to the cheetah village and would be back in a few days."

"Was Spyro with her?",Terrador asked.

"Actually no",said Volteer.

"Something's not right."said Terrador."Cyril, head to the cheetah village and ask if they have seen Spyro and Cynder.""Volteer,you search the mountains and the surrounding area."I will stay here in case they return."

Cyril and Volteer flew away and Terrador gazed into the distance wondering what was going on.

I lold at the end because I imagined the elder dragons wearing power ranger suits and saying "Elder Dragon Force GO!" for sode reason.

Chapter14

Cynder and Sparx still couldn't find Warfang.

"I think we might be flying in the wrong direction",Cynder said.

"Where should we fly then?",Sparx asked in reply.

"Hmmmmmm",Cynder said as she thought.Then she saw a temple."There is a building down there.",Cynder told Sparx."Let's check it out.

When they got closer they saw that it was Ignitus's temple.They started to search around the lonely hallways untill they found Ignitus who was resting in the central room."Hello Cynder and Sparx.",he said.He had appearantly sensed their presence.

"What brings you here?",he asked.

"We are trying to find our way back to Warfang,"Cynder answered.

"Yeah,",Sparx added."We seem to keep getting lost."

"I can show you the way",Ignitus said.

Cynder started to walk out but then asked."Is there anything we can do about Spyro's curse?"

"Spyro must defeat the curse on his own."Ignitus replied.

"But there has to be something we can do."Cynder said.

"There is one thing,"Ignitus said in reply,"Thal has put his staff back together and is heading towards Warfang to use it to take control of Spyro.""You must go there and stop his plans."

Then Volteer came in."Ignitus you're alive!,"Volteer exclaimed.

"Yes,"Igniuts replied."As you can see I am also The Chronicler now."

"Well that's amazing,incredible,..........",Volteer started.

"Whoa,slow down big guy.",Sparx said.

"Sparx is right",Ignitus said."You must lead Sparx and Cynder back to Warfang.""You will be needed there soon."Then Volteer,Sparx,and Cynder headed out for the dragon city.

good chapter. But my question is why would Thal want Cynder to help him get his staff? Meh, probly just a plow to try and ambush her if he got it himself anyway.

And why weren't Cynder ans Sparx at all surprised to see him?.. Ignitus died, you'd think that when somebody dies, those who knew him would be -at least- a bit surprised to see him alive and kicking, huh?..

Two chapters ago,Terrador sent out Volteer to search the mountains and the surrounding area,he found the temple while he was doing that.
Second,Cynder and Sparx werent surprised by Ignitus being alive becuase they already knew he wasn't dead.Ignitus contacted Cynder in her dreams earlier in the story and Cynder told Sparx about it.I hope that cleared things up.

I will post another chapter later.

Chapter15


While flying through the air Volteer suddenly relized that he had forgotten someone."Where is Spyro?",he asked Cynder

"I don't know",she replied,"We got seperated back at the mountains."

"Wait a second.",Volteer said."You told me you were going to the cheetah village."

"Uhhh..about that.",Sparx replied.Then Cynder and Sparx told Volteer everything about Spyro's curse,and Thal,and the other events that had happened.

"This is bad,unfortunate,just dreadfull,"Volteer said shocked that all this was happening when it had only been a little over a week since Malefor was defeated."We must fly faster,"he ordered.When they got to Warfang they found Terrador waiting for them above the main gate.

"Ah,Volteer,"he said."You're back,and you found Cynder and Sparx,but where's Spyro?" he asked.So then Sparx and Cynder told Terrador everything they had told Volteer.

"This is a grave situation indeed,",Terrador said in reply."Volteer go find Cyril and tell him to come back,"he ordered.After Volteer flew off he turned to Cynder."Now......"he started to say but then one of the moles called out

"There are cheetah warriors approaching."

"What are they doing here?",Terrador asked to nobody in particular.

He,Cynder,and Sparx went down to the gate where the wounded cheetahs were being taken to a doctor.They approached Cheif Prowlus and Hunter."What happened to all of you?",Terrador asked them.

Cheif Prowlus spoke up first."It's that purple dragon,Spyro,he's gone insane and is out of control."

"Can you tell us more?",Terrador asked.

It was Hunter who talked this time."He ambushed the village in the middle of the night.""Only his appearance had changed.""He was black with white eyes."I tried to ask him why he was doing this but he just turned and attacked like he didnt even reconize me."

"It's the curse.",Cynder said.

"What Hunter asked?",confused.

"We will explain later,"Terrador replied."But now we must prepare the defenses incase of any attacks."I have learned that there is more then one threat still out there."

Nightfall came and the defenses were prepared and everyone was alert execpt for a few of the moles on the wall who were half asleep.One of them thought he heard wings flapping and went to see what it was,and the last thing he saw was a dark figure with glowing eyes coming right at him.

Hehehe... Volteer was shocked.

Chapter16

Spyro had inflitrated the dragon city with evil intentions.Only he was using a diffrent tactic then on the cheetah village.He was focusing on stealth rather then blunt force.The main thing he had to do was take out the main catapult.He got into postion to pounce on the mole sitting by it but when he jumped a tail came out of nowhere and hit him in the face knocking him backwards.The mole ran away.

"Who's there",Spyro snarled.Then it was Terrador who walked in front of him."Alright then",Spyro said.,"you're first"

On the other side of the city Hunter was helping with a special project.A mole reported to him."The candle system is finnally finished sir,just give the word and we can light up the whole city clear as day."

"Do it,"Hunter ordered.Then the mole lit one of the large candles and a chain reaction started,amazingly not setting fire to any buildings.Afterwards the whole city was shining brightly,and everyone could see that they had an attacker.

"Spyro stop this madness.",Terrador said while he and Spyro were circling each other.

"I don't take orders from you anymore,"Spyro replied.Then he saw that Volteer had finnally returned with Cyril.The elders had him surrounded on top of the wall.Spyro began to start his dark fury.

"Get out of here,"Terrador said.The elders flew far enough away to escape the lethal part of the dark fury but they were still hit by a shockwave and were sent into a wall which knocked them out.

The cheetahs had to carry away the elders before Spyro could do any more damage to them.Then Spyro heard a banging sound from below it sounded like someone was trying to bust the main gate open.He flew down there just in time to see the gate open and apes to come charging through.He got ready to attack but then Thal approached him on his dreadwing.

"Do my biding dragon.",Thal said and pointed his staff at Spyro.Spyro jerked in resistance.The staff was trying to take control of him somehow.Spyro continued to try to fight it but the magic was just too powerfull.It seemed that Thal had complete control over Spyro now.
Thal pointed his staff forward and Spyro and the apes went to pillaging the city.

After all the pillaging Thal called the apes back outside.The city was defenseless though."Now Spyro,",Thal said."Go to the center of the city and use you're dark powers to destroy everything that is left."

"Yes master,"Spyro said in a mindless reply.Thal got on his dreadwing to watch from above.When Spyro made it to the city center he found someone waiting for him there:Cynder.

This will be good!

Thal is in Warfang to steal and destroy the place,I thought that part was obvious.
As for your other two questions,they will be answered later in the book.

Chapter17


Spyro and Cynder were circling each other inside the town center.Cynder was still managing to block Spyro's path though.

"Get out of my way,"Spyro said,"I have no use for you."

"I know you plan to destroy the city Spyro,"Cynder said in reply."If you do that you will kill a lot of innocent people."

"I dont care,"Spyro said with so much hate and spite in his voice that Cynder couldn't believe it was actually him talking."Now get back!",Spyro shouted then hit Cynder and caused her to stumble back a little.

Cynder then made threating gestures towards Spyro to try and intimidate him but they had no effect."I won't let you do this,",she said.

"You will have to kill me to stop me,"Spyro said in reply.

Cynder couldn't talk him out of it,she couldn't scare him away,he was right the only way to stop him was to kill him,but she couldn't...."No",she said."I can't."

"You are weak,"Spyro said.Then he grabbed Cynder by the throat and started choking her.He then slammed her head into a wall.Cynder's head was throbbing now.Spyro started to choke her again.

"Spyro....."She choked out gasping for breath."please..........let go."

"Oh?,"Spyro asked with an unnerving tone in his voice."You want me to let you go?"While still holding on to Cynder's neck he flew them up to a high building and landed on it.He then used his claws to tear Cynder's wings so she could not fly.He then started to drag her towards the edge of the building.Fear shot through her body,she thrashed with all her remaining strength desperately trying to break free but Spyro's grip was too strong.Cynder felt like she was about to pass out.

When they were at the buildings edge Spyro held Cynder over it.It was a massive drop.Cynder was terrorfied now."Ok,"Spyro said."I'll let you go."He then threw her out into the air and shot a beam of darkness through her.She screamed and hit the ground hard.Lying there motionless................but was she dead?

She heard Ignitus's voice."Don't worry Cynder your're not dead,you are just knocked out,you are lucky to have survived that fall.""Now there are some things I must tell you before you recover if you are to save Spyro and everyone else."

I like how you handled that! I was not cliche and it was well written.

Chapter18

Cynder was in the dream world now,she found the temple and started to search through it for Ignitus.She then saw one of the hallways light up.She decided to go down that hallway becuase of curiosity.She then entered an empty room.

"Hello Cynder,"She heard Ignitus's voice echo."There is not much time so I must tell you what you need to know quickly."

"You mean how to stop Spyro?",Cynder asked.

"Yes,"Ignitus said."Now pay attention.""Thal is the key to most of this.""He has two magical staffs with the abilty to control dark energy.""One he is using to control Spyro.""The other is preventing him from breaking the curse."

"But,"Cynder interrupted."Spyro broke one of the staffs."I thought Thal needed me to help him to put it back together."

"You and Spyro still have powers not yet discovered,Thal can fix his staffs on his own but if you would of used your powers to help him put it back together it would have been almost impossible to break and would have been much more powerfull."

"Now",he continued,"Back on subject."You must first break the staff Thal holds in his hands,that will make him lose control of Spyro."Then you must go find Thal's supplies located somewhere outside the city,break open the food crates untill you find the second staff and smash it,then the rest will be up to Spyro."

"But what if Thal fixes them?",Cynder asked.

"Don't worry about that,"Ignitus replied."It takes him a matter of hours to do that."

Then Ignitus's voice and the dream world faded away and Cynder awoke.She saw Spyro building up some sort of super dark fury.Was it already to late?


Also I won't be able to post a new chapter tommarow,I will be at my mom's house and she has no internet.I will update the story the day afterwards though.

Chapter19

Spyro was charging a dark fury that would wipe out the whole city.Cynder had to do something quick.She noticed Thal on his dreadwing hovering above holding one of the staffs.Cynder flew into the air and pushed Spyro breaking his fury charge,then she attacked Thal.Cynder swated Thals staff and it hit a rooftop but it did not break it was just slowing rolling towards the edge but no one noticed.Thal then swatted Cynder into the open air where she was hit by a dark blast by Spyro."ahhhhhhhhhhh!"she shreiked in pain.When she hit the ground she was still conscious this time but she was so hurt she couldn't hardly move or speak.She was completely helpless.


Thal landed and got off his dreadwing close to where Cynder was,Spyro also approached.Thal looked at Cynder,"I have had enough of you!"he said angrily and then turned to Spyro,"Kill her!",he ordered.

Cynder only looked at Spyro,her eyes seemed to be pleading for mercy.Spyro got ready to shoot a dark beam and finish her.Cynder closed her eyes and waited for death to come.Then Thal's staff rolled off the rooftop and shattered on the ground but again nobody noticed as it was too far away.When Cynder heard the dark blast she was surprised becuase she didnt feel any pain.She looked and saw that Thal was the one Spyro had attacked.

Thal got knocked back into a diffrent area of the city.He saw Spyro follow him."How dare you turn on me?!"Thal said."I am your master."he said,"Obey me."

Spyro scowled,"You can't control me,"he said in a menacing dark voice.
He then lurched at Thal.The fight was on.

In a diffrent part of the city Hunter was searching for more wounded after the cheetahs had brought the elder dragons to a safe area.He then found Cynder on the ground,she appeared to be injured.

"Cynder,are you hurt?",Hunter asked.

"I'll...,"Cynder started in a weak voice."be okay."We don't have much time....Thal is using a magical staff to control Spyro."

"I saw it on my way here.",Hunter said."It is broken."

"The is another one....we have to break",Cynder said."It is in a food crate that is part of Thal's supplies somewhere...."She let out a bad series of coughs."outside the city"

"I'll handle it.",Hunter said."Don't worry I will send someone back to help you."Then he set off.

Back on the other side of the city the fight was not going well for Thal.He had taken a lot of wounds and could not do enough damage to the dragon to stop him.Scared for his life he jumped on his dreadwing and started to fly away.Spyro shot darkness at the Thal and his dreadwing but they dodged it.They were now over a swamp that had acidic waters in it.Spyro then hit the dreadwing with darkness and killed it.Thal crashed to the ground landing on a cliffside that towered above a pool of slow dissolving acid.

Spyro scratched Thal again.Thal then took Spyro and threw him against a tree head first.This sent shockwaves jarring throughout Spyro's body but he ignored them and kept fighting.Thal then kicked Spyro on the ground.

Back at Warfang Hunter had found Thal's supplies.He shot the guarding apes with arrows and after searching through 5 crates he found the staff and shattered it.

At that moment Thal had pinned Spyro to the ground.Then Spyro turned back to normal.He seemed confused and disoriented."What?",he asked."What's going on?"Now Thal could actually kill him.

Thal picked up a rock that could be used to bust Spyro's skull in.Spyro tried to sheild his face.Thal took an extra and costly few more seconds to lift the rock up higher,and just as quickly as Spyro turned back to normal he turned dark again.He pushed Thal off of him."You had your chance Thal",Spyro said."And now you have lost it."He then started rapidly attacking Thal eventually pushing him to the edge.He seemed to fall but then grabbed Spyro's leg.Spyro repeatedly kicked him untill he fell.


"Nooooooooooooooooooooo!",Thal screamed as he crashed into the acid
Spyro then began to fly back to Warfang.After this a portal opened near the acid pool.Thal who was amazingly alive dragged his half dissolved body out of the pool and crawled through the portal not caring where it went.The portal then disapeared after Thal entered it.

Meanwhile Spyro had made it back to Warfang.Without Thal's magic he could actually fight the curse.He used all his remaing strength to finnally break it.He returned to normal and sunk to the ground with no energy left.
He then passed out.

That was a good chapter but I think it could of used more details around Spyro's curse. How did he defeat the curse himself? You just kinda left a big part of the story unexplained. Though I can see you explaining that further into the story.

^Yes,more will be revealed,the story is not done yet.

Sorry I didn't post a new chapter yesterday,by the time I was finnally ready my internet connection stopped working on me.

Chapter20

Spyro awoke in a small comfortable room.He was lying in a bed.He could see others that were injured around him,a hospital maybe?Spyro also saw a cheetah doctor standing over a desk,he appeared to be writing something.The doctor then noticed Spyro was awake.

"Spyro how are you feeling?",he asked

"Okay,"Spyro said."Execpt for this huge headache."He started to get out of bed but the doctor stopped him.

"Don't get up too fast now,"the doctor said,"We don't want you straining yourself untill your strength fully returns.""How much do you remember?",he then asked.

"Everything",Spyro replied,"Doctor,I should proboly leave here you need to make room for other patients."Spyro then slowly got out of bed and started to leave.

"I should proboly keep you here for a little while",the doctor said.


Spyro was getting irritated with this."I'll be fine!"he shouted then stormed out he room angrily.

A rise in temper is one of the first things that happened before this whole curse thing even started,Spyro thought to himself,What was going on?He went back to his old room in one of the towers.He was gazing out at the beautiful sunset,but now he was starting to feel remoarse.He was thinking about how he destroyed the cheetah village,how he almost killed Cynder and the elders,how he almost destroyed Warfang.Was it right for him to stay here?

Then he heard a knock on the door.He sighed,"Come in"

Cynder and Sparx entered the room.Sparx looked normal but Cynder had casts around her wings to help them heal faster,it also looked like she might have a scar on her face where Spyro scratched her but it was hard to notice becuase of her black scales.

"Spyro buddy,how are you doing?",Sparx asked.

"just fine,Sparx",he said in a sad tone of voice.


"What's wrong?",Cynder asked concerned.

"It's nothing,"Spyro said,"I just need to be alone for awhile,I'm going for a walk in the woods to clear my head."


"It's almost nightfall",Cynder said,"Are you sure you should be leaving the city."

Spyro struggled to control his anger,"yes"was all he said before walking out.He didn't want to use the front gate becuase he would proboly have a hard time getting out that way,but there was a back door in a little known area of the city that Terrador had told him about.It proboly wasnt so heavily guarded.

He he got to the back gate there was only two guards there.They were both moles but both had a spear.

"Sorry sir",one said,"No one leaves the city at this time of day."

Spyro already had enough of them,"Just get out of the way",he barked.He started to move towards the gate but the moles used their spears to block him.

"Get out of my way now,"He said in what was almost a snarl.

The other mole spoke up this time,"Sir,I'm sorry but we can't let you......"

Spyro's eyes turned red."You asked for it!"he shouted. He then knocked their spears away and tackled both of them.He then began mauling them scratching and biting and tearing them apart.The moles were screaming and trying to get away but they were too small to stop Spyro.The struggle was over in less then a minute.

Both of the moles were dead now.When Spyro snapped out of his rage he saw what he had just done.He turned away from the gory mess.Then he looked down at his paws,they were drenched in blood.But,he thoughtI broke the curse,didnt I?

Chapter21

How could I have done this?spyro asked still thinking to himself.He then heard a rustling noise in a nearby alley,somebody was coming!Still in shock over his actions Spyro ran into the woods and hid.After it seemed clear Spyro started walking into the woods.It was dark now,but Spyro still managed to see somewhat.Spyro found a comfortable spot to lie down in.He started to drift off to sleep when he heard a familar voice call to him.

"Spyro,"it called.

"Whos there?",Spyro asked almost panicing.

"A freind,"the voice answered,"From the not so distant past,"do you see the temple on top of that mountain?"

Spyro searched intill he finnally saw the mountain and the temple through a small gap in the trees."Yes",Spyro answered.

"You must go there."the voice said then faded away.

Not knowing what else to do Spyro flew off toward the temple.He landed safely in front of it.He reconised the place immediatly,The Chroniclers temple.That didn't sound like The Chronicler's voice calling to meSpyro thought as he entered the temple.

He wondered through it aimlessly untill he found the central room.He entered it and went to the middle of it thinking he might find something there.

Then the same voice spoke up again."Welcome,young dragon."Spyro turned around and to his shock it was Ignitus who was standing there.

I wonder how this will go...good chapter!

"Ignitus,your're alive!",Spyro shouted in surprise and hapiness.

"Yes,young dragon,"Ignitus said in calm reply,"I'm glad you answered my call."

"But how?",Spyro asked,"I thought you had died in the belt of fire."

"I thought it was the end for me too,"Ignitus answered,"but I came back somehow,and I found out that I was to become the new Chronicler.""Now",he said,"We must get to the reason I called you here."

Spyro suddenly remembered why he had left the city in the first place."Look Ignitus,"he said,"Im dangerous,maybe it isnt a good idea for me to stay here."'If you are the new Chronicler then you know what I mean."

"Spyro",Ignitus said with a sigh,"This new enemy your're facing is inside you,there is no escaping it."

"You mean the curse?",Spyro asked in reply,"Didnt I break that?"

"The curse works in phases,"Ignitus replied,"What you broke out of was just the first the second will be much worse and harder to break."

"There has to be something I can do,"Spyro said worried.

"Well there is a way,"Ignitus said,"But it is not an easy one."Follow me."
Ignitus led Spyro to a room on the other side of the temple."Behind this door is a very spirtual room,"Ignitus said."The ancestors dwell heavily there.""If you are to stop the curse you must enter that room and concentrate heavily."Afterwards you will be face to face with the embodyment of the evil within you and you must stop it."

Spyro thought about this and decided that he had no other choice."Ok,"he said,"I'll do it."He then entered the room and prepared to face the evil within.


I feel it is only fair to tell everyone that I will be leaving for a summer camp on Monday and proboly wont be back for 4or5 days.I also am not sure if I will be able to post this weekend.Sorry for the long wait I will have to give you.
