What do you think the new game is going to be about, what characters will be in it, what universe it will be set in, etc.?

I cannot say for sure but I am willing to bet it will take place after the LoS series story to appeal to a wider audience. Spyro and Cynder will be older so they can do more cool dragon stuff. I also the believe SpyroXCynder relationship will evolve.

I just hope Spyro gets a...manlier voice. I have nothing against Elijah Wood but his voice seems a bit weak for a dragon like Spyro. However it does fit because Spyro is more of a kids game.

I hope they'll bring back the old style and universe. I have grown to love the classic Spyro games.

It might be a follow on from Dawn of the Dragon.

I hope it takes place in the LoS universe. Since the trilogy is over, they could make a Spyro game with a different, complete storyline in one game.

Who knows? "A different direction" could also mean a different storyline, if it's set in the LoS universe.

One of the producers for the LOS left
The composers of the music of LOS were dropped
The LOS movie was cancelled
LOS ended with the death of what I took to be the ultimate evil; hard to know what to do after that.
The Producing company of LOS merged with a much larger company, Activision, and Activision has just about taken over.
The final chapter of LOS was quite a let down, IMHO.

Evidence for LOS continuation:
The whole point of LOS was to alter and expand the universe but leave it open for more progress.
Many loose ends were left after DotD.

Evidence Against a Reboot:
Risk of loosing many fans, LOS and classic alike.
A tad redundant, given we just had a reboot.

Evidence for a Reboot:

LOS is over and they might not want to continue or go to the old again, so something new could be their choice.

Evidence against the return of the old:
Been gone for a while
Been done by two other developers, neither was really good, though AHT was great IMHO.

Evidence for the return of the old:
The classics made the most money of all the Spyro games
If done right by the right developer, it could be fantastic
Classic Spyro's return could draw in many new and old fans.

*Evidence for a mix of old and new (with some other changes):
A mix could please both LOS and classic fans, plus draw in old classic Spyro fans and new fans.
If done right by the right people it could be really good.

I like the last idea there. I still like the idea of it set in the LoS world, with details and characters from Old Games included.

I want them to make a mix of both styles, but done correctly.

It's like Gandorf off of Legend of Zelda. No matter how many times he has been killed he always manages to come back to life somehow.

Hoenstly,I've lost all interest in a new Spyro game.It can be anything for all I care.Sure,I'd buy the new one,but I'm not holding my breath for anything fantastic.

There WILL be a new one, bacon. It's been confirmed. Also, no more gloomy, repetitive, serious, dark, boring, over dramatic LOS plz.

IDK, they kinda left a cliff hanger after Shadow Legacy; it was said at the end that the sorcer was back and everyone was training to fight him, but as far as I can remember you don't fight him a second time.

Also, they may be ecpecting us to accept the ending of DotD.

Could someone send me a link because I cannot find information about a new Spyro game anywhere. And if there is one, it will probably be LoS unless it's not Activision. I see no reason why they would change it because they've left the story open for a sequel. People might disagree with me but Activision ruins a lot of games.

This is just a link to the cancellation of the movie. Somebody mentioned earlier that they confirmed a new game, but I cannot find anything about it.

I did say that the confirmation of there being more Spyro games were originally in the Sierra forums didn't I?

Activision cancelled the movie because they're taking the Spyro series, including the next game, in a different direction. They didn't rehire the composers of the LoS trilogy and they fired one of the producers who did the LoS.

You also said that the forums were closed, so I thought you were implying that it wasn't reliable anymore. So what you're saying is that there is a strong possibility of a new game, but nothing is known about it besides that it's straying away from LoS?

We don't know what direction Activision will take Spyro, but we KNOW they're making a new game. They never said or announced they're not making anymore Spyro games.

I want a game connecting to TLOS somehow.. that series could have continued on to like.... 30 games ^.=.^

I don't know if this means anything, but www.activision.com still hasn't updated DotD's release date to "Available Now."

Pfft, they don't want to give away information on Spyro but they want to spill their guts and talk about Call of Duty, their most popular game? They really like to mess with us Spyro fans don't they?!

Sierra Entertainment allow their information on their work-in-progress games, including Spyro games, early in the year before they were released. Activision is just being hermits on the games they retained from Sierra.

Well I stayed to watch all the E3 gaming news today, and well nothing. All I know is that spyro's rivals Sonic, and rayman have new games coming out, but nothing on spyro or crash at the moment. So maybe tomorrow we migh hear something or my friend will tell me if he got to activisions booth and asked.

Well there going to make one and plus they will keep Cynder in there.

How do you know? You're assuming. We don't even know what characters they'll add in the next game.

I'm going to make an assumption that IFF (if and only if) there is a new game, Sparx will be in it too, I don't remember a game he's not in. But I haven't played all the GBA games so yeah...

If they continue LoS I'd say Cynder is a safe assumption but looking at your name and your sig I can pretty much tell you thats more of a hope then an assumption to you.

I don't see anything wrong with keeping secrets on games, makes things more suprising and satisfying when we do finally learn something.

If anyone has noticed, the epic mickey game, its so similar to spyro LOS versions. So i think spyro can be epic if taken the time to make him epic. Anyways well nothing yet, we'll have to wait till the end of the week to hear maybe to hear something about spyro. If sly, sonic, kirby, zelda, donkey kong had been shown to us, then spyro should be next and I have a small feeling that maybe just maybe it might be something that was worth waiting for. You never know.

Well, I just dislike Activision for some things they've done in the past to some of the games I like. But they could at least tell us IF there is a new one in progress, they don't need to mention details.
