this fanfic is different then all my other fanfics, it has no Christianity in it at all. it will involve gods though... well i don't want to put any spoilers in so you'll have to wait for the first chapter.

Sounds very interesting

Chapter 1,

It was a rather calm night in a dragon village. Dragon couples wait patiently in their huts watching their eggs to see them hatch. Some eggs were already hatched and little dragon hatchlings played in their huts under their parents watchful eyes. The village was inhabited by dragons with the elements of fire, electricity, ice and earth. One dragon couple an ice dragoness named Ices and a fire dragon named Blaze felt blessed to have a child but they were even more blessed to have a small purple dragon they could call their son. They named the dragon Dragsooth. He was sleeping soundly under his mother's wing, he was only a few days old. Ices lifted up her wing and licked the sleeping Dragsooth on the forehead gently. Dragsooth woke up and smiled as he licked his mother's snout. Ices smiled and nuzzled him gently. Dragsooth yawned and curled up against him mother's body and fell asleep. Ices covered him with her wing and looked over at Blaze who was laying near the entrance of their hut.

Ices: "Blaze?"

Blaze looked at her "yes?"

Ices: "are you still worried about an attack by the dark dragons?"

Blaze: "yes... if they know that Dragsooth is alive they'll surely attack the village."

Ices: "I've been praying each day that the dark dragons wouldn't know about our son... do you think the gods answered me?"

Blaze got up and nuzzled Ices, he looked at her "of course the gods answered you, why wouldn't they?... they've kept our village safe so far."

Ices: "yes you are right... but only they know what the future will bring."

Blaze: "I'm sure the future will hold goodness and prosperity."

Ices smiles "you're right. it's already prosperous since the gods have blessed us with a very special son."

Blaze nodded "indeed he's very special..." he laid down in front of Ices "and don't worry the prophecy says that the purple dragon is blessed by the gods... i'm sure they won't let anything happen to our son."

Ices: "yes... i believe that with all my heart."

There was a moment of silence, suddenly an earth dragon wearing armor barged into the hut.

dragon: "the dark dragons have just been spotted coming towards the village!"

Blaze got up and came up to the dragon "how many?"

dragon: "there's a whole army coming! about one hundred dragons! you've got to get your mate and child out of here now!"

Blaze looked at Ices "get Dragsooth out of here!... find a hiding place far away from the village!"

dragon: "i advise you to leave the village from the south side since we saw them coming from the north!"

Ices got up and gently picked up Dragsooth with her jaws. Blaze came up to her and licked her on the cheek.

Blaze: "go and be safe my love."

Ices looked at him with tears in her eyes and she then flew out of the hut and out of the village from the south side. She was carrying Dragsooth with her jaws. Ices flew for a few minutes, she landed near a small animal burrow, she put Dragsooth inside and turned around blocking the entrance of the burrow. Ices looked around nervously. She heard footsteps and the rustling of some bushes. A fear dragoness came out of the bushes, she had on armor and she bared her teeth ferociously at Ices. Ices bared her teeth and spread out her wings to make herself look bigger.

Chapter 2,

The fear dragoness stopped baring her teeth and she looked at Ices. "well well, what do we have here? a lone ice dragoness..." she smirked at Ices.

Ices growled at her "just leave me in peace and I won't hurt you!" she was crouched down in an attack position.

dragoness: "now now, you wouldn't want to do anything stupid now... I just want to take a peak at what you're hiding in that burrow!"

she breathed many waves of fear onto Ices, Ices struggled to stay up but she fell to the ground paralyzed. the fear dragoness smiled evilly she looked into the burrow and saw little Dragsooth hiding at the back of it cowering in fear. the dragoness looks at Ices.

dragoness: "first I'm going to kill that pesky purple hatchling of yours then I'm going to dispose of you!"

Ices growls a low growl and she tried to get up but she could hardly move. the dragoness went towards the burrow and stuck her head in it. she looked at the frightened little hatchling cowering at the back of the burrow.

dragoness: "come here you little purple pest... I'm not going to hurt you..." she stuck her neck out and tried to grab hold of Dragsooth with her jaws, she snapped furiously at him but couldn't reach him. Dragsooth cowered in fear and he was crying. the dragoness snarled in frustration, she got her head out of the burrow and began to dig a wider entrance, she stuck her head back in and snickered at Dragsooth. he had his back turned towards her and he covered himself with his wings crying in fear. the dragoness nipped him on the tail, her teeth breaking skin. Dragsooth yells and cries out in pain.

Ices heard his cries, her eyes got wide as she quickly stood up, she turned toward the dragoness and shot out multiple ice spikes at her back. some of the spikes impaled her, she then went limp as she lay there dead. Ices grabbed the dragoness' tail with her jaws and threw her body away from the burrow. Ices stuck her head into the burrow and saw Dragsooth shivering in fear and crying. she picked him up gently with her jaws and set him down outside the burrow. Dragsooth put his head against her body. Ices hugged him with one paw.

Ices: "there there, it's alright... you're safe now..." she licked his wound.

her cold tongue numbed the pain and Dragsooth settled down. Ices got up and looked towards the direction of the village. she picked Dragsooth up with her jaws and slowly walked towards the village. when she got to the village some parts of the wooden wall surrounding it was broken. she flew over the wall and landed in the village, she walked through it and she saw huts that were destroyed, she heard the cries of dragons who had lost a mate or a hatchling to the attack. she saw the bodies of dead dragons laying in the streets, some of them were covered in poison. Ices was horrified at what she was seeing. she walked through the village with tears in her eyes, she then saw her hut, the door had been broken down, she slowly walked towards it and she walked inside. the house was ransacked and laying in the middle of the hut was the lifeless body of Blaze. Ices gently put Dragsooth down and went over to Blaze's body. she looked down at it with tears streaming down her cheeks. she laid her head on him and sobbed heavily. she looked up.

Ices: "may the gods watch over you Blaze... may they watch over us all..." her tears were falling to the ground, she put her head on the body and wept. she looked beside her and saw Dragsooth near her. she hugged him with her paw and pressed him up against her body crying bitterly.

One problem I do find is that sometimes you change tenses in a chapter like at first "Ices growled a low growl" to "Ices hears his cries"

i fixed it.

Cool story. I like it.

I think you should try and stick to 1 tense in the next chapter as it makes more sense if you do. Just a suggestion

i'll write my fanfic the way i feel like. if i see any mistakes i'll correct them.

Chapter 3,

A fire dragon came into the hut, he wore a red cloak, he was one of the four elders in the village. he looked at Ices and Dragsooth.

elder dragon: "oh thank the gods you two are safe!" he looked over and saw the dead body of Blaze, he looked up "may the gods watch over him..." he then looks at Ices "i'm so sorry for your loss... if there's anything i can do to help you and your son just tell me..."

Ices: "... well elder Malak my son was hurt when we were attacked by a fear dragoness..."

elder Malak: "is he alright?... are you alright?"

Ices: "oh i'm fine, but Dragsooth has a small wound on his tail."

elder Malak: "i'll go over to the medical tent and bring back some red gems..." he walked out of the hut.

Ices looked down at Dragsooth and gently licks his wound. Dragsooth looks at her, he smiles and licks her snout. Ices smiles a little too. then elder Malak cam into the hut holding a small red gem in his paw. he walks over to Dragsooth and places the gem near him, the gem goes into Dragsooth and the wound disappears. Dragsooth looks up at him and smiles.

elder Malak: "there now that's better..." he smiles at the hatchling. he then looks at Ices and saw her looking at the body of her mate with tears in her eyes. "i'll call some dragons to remove the body. i'll make sure your mate has a proper funeral in the morning."

Ices looked at him "thank you elder Malak."

elder Malak: "good night..." he slowly walks out the door.

then three dragons came inside the hut.

dragon: "we heard what happen to your mate... we feel so sorry for you and your poor hatchling... many dragons were lost in this attack, many of them were hatchlings and eggs."

Ices: "how many eggs and hatchlings?"

dragon: "well almost all of the eggs and some of the hatchlings... we just thank the gods that you and your hatchling survived."

Ices: "yes, you may take my mate's body away now..."

dragon: "the elders are going to have a funeral at the temple tomorrow morning."

Ices: "i know. we'll be there..."

the dragon looks at the others "take the body away."

the two dragons grab hold of the body and drag it out of the hut. the dragon looks at Ices.

dragon: "good night ma'am... may the gods bless you and your hatchling in these times." he walks out of the hut.

Ices noticed that Dragsooth was curled up asleep. she laid down near him and wrapped her tail gently around him. she put her head on her paws and slowly fell asleep.

Chapter 4,

A shadow dragon flew across the night sky holding an egg in his claws. he flew down towards a village filled with small stone huts. he flew to the back of the village and landed in front of a large dark fortress. the dragon went inside still carrying the egg. he walked at the back of the building and up to a black dragoness wearing a dark cloak. the dragon bowed his head to the dragoness.

dragon: "Mistress Vensis i have brought you a gift." he showed her the egg.

Vensis took a close look at it, she took the egg out of his paw and looked at the dragon with anger in her eyes and she bared her teeth at him.

dragon: "i... is there something wrong Mistress?"

Vensis: "yes there is!... this is a pink egg you blind idiot!"

dragon: "pink?"

Vensis stood up " yes pink!... you were supposed to look for a purple egg!"

dragon: "i apologize Mistress... i-... it was dark and i couldn't see right..."

Vensis growls at him and strikes him across the face with her tail blade. the dragon fell slightly on his side but he picked himself up, there was a huge wound on his face.

Vensis: "your apology mean nothing to me!... you not only have failed me you have failed Mondrenic our god!"

dragon: "i'm sorry!... i'm sorry... please forgive me!" he fell to the ground and started groveling.

Vensis: "grovel all you want but Mondrenic will curse you greatly in the afterlife!... and who am i to withhold Mondrenic's punishment from you any longer?... GUARDS!"

two dragons came up to her, one was a fear dragon, one was a poison dragon.

Vensis: "take him to the dungeon and torture him severely after you're done take him to the altar of Mondrenic and sacrifice him to our god!"

the 2 guards nodded, the fear dragon shot many waves of fear at him and he fell to the ground paralyzed, the guards dragged him out of the fortress.

Vensis looked at the pink egg. "hmmm i guess i could raise the little hatchling inside... it would be a shame to sacrifice it..." she laid down and put the egg so it was leaning against her, she wrapped her tail around it, she put her head on her paws and fell asleep.

Chapter 5,

In the early hour of the morning Vensis awoke to find that the egg was cracking. she just looked at it and watched it as it broke apart and a small pink dragoness was laying there. Vensis stood up and carefully picked up the dragoness with her jaws and set her down so she wasn't laying on the egg shells. Vensis looked at the hatchling.

Vensis: "hmmm i wonder what kind of element you posses?... you look kind of like a fire dragoness... maybe i shall name you Ember."

Ember looked at Vensis and smiled at her, she walked over to Vensis and nuzzled her front leg. Vensis just smirked at her.

Vensis: "you've got a lot to learn little one... and i'm going to have to be the one to teach you." she laid down.

Ember went to Vensis' side and and curled up at her side. Vensis just looked at her.

Vensis: "oh i hope i hadn't made a mistake by taking this little dragoness into my care."


next chapter coming tomorrow. sorry it was so short. oh and i couldn't think of a better name for the pink dragoness so i just used Ember.

hmmm you may be right.

Yus. It could have been Pinky or Flare ect, but I think Ember is a nice name, even though it was kinda expected

Chapter 6,

At the other village there was a gathering of dragons at the back of the village where there was open space and a large pit was dug. inside the pit were the many bodies of dead dragons, hatchlings and broken eggs. there were four elder dragons standing with their backs turned towards the pit, they were facing the group of dragons, dragonessess and hatchlings standing before them. the fire elder Malak was the first to speak.

elder Malak: "the death of these dragons will not go unrecognized. many of them were warriors, spouses and brave dragons that were fighting to protect their homes and families, the gods will surely reward them..."

then the ice elder Hydrax spoke.

elder Hydrax: "but let's not forget the innocent ones who were murdered before their time. the many hatchlings and eggs that were slaughtered and destroyed. their death's strike a heavy blow on us because they were the innocent ones... may the gods watch over the little ones..."

the electricity elder Penagar spoke next.

elder Penagar: "but with tragedies comes hope... hope for a better tomorrow... Mondrenic's followers may have cast a shadow on us but our gods always find a way to have light shine through... blessed be the gods for they are good to us."

the earth elder Hargen spoke next.

elder Hargen: "and with that being said let us bury the bodies of the deceased for we shall see them again in the realm the gods have prepared for us..."

Hargen turned around to face the pit, he put both paws at it's edge and the edges of the pit glowed green, earth and ground came over the pit and covered it. Hargen turned around to face the group of dragons.

elder Hargen: "may the gods bless you all and keep you all in peace..."

the dragons left, Ices walked towards her hut with Dragsooth following close beside her.

sorry i haven't written a chapter yesterday.

Chapter 7,

three years later Ember grew into a playful little dragoness, she liked to play with the other young dragons in the village. early in the morning Vensis wanted to take Ember to the alter of Mondrenic in hopes that Mondrenic will bless her. this was a tradition that all the dragons in the village do with their offspring once in a lifetime. Vensis and Ember were walking up a great hill and on the top of that hill was an alter in front of a statue of Mondrenic. they got to the top of the hill.

Vensis: "Ember you know what to do."

Ember scampered up to the stone altar and climbed on it, she faced the statue. Vensis sat down in front of the statue and bowed her head low. she then spoke in the draconic language.

Vensis: "jennu ithquent Mondrenic tiichi nomeno ghergo darastrix ghoros wux, majak jacioniv wer vers ekess faestir wux, origato douta vers confn acht jacioniv..."

the eyes of the statue began to glow and shine down onto Ember, the eyes stopped glowing. Vensis looked up at the statue.

Vensis: "tiichia qe wux Mondrenic sia ithquent..."

Ember: "Mistress what happen?"

Vensis looked at Ember "our god just blessed you. now be polite and thank him."

Ember looked up at the statue "thank you Mondrenic."

Vensis: "thank him the way i taught you. in draconic."

Ember: "but-... it's hard to talk like that..."

Vensis: "how dare you be impolite towards our god!? do you want him to punish you!?"

Ember: "...no Mistress... i'm sorry..." she cowered a little and she had tears in her eyes.

Vensis: "just thank our god for his blessing..."

Ember slowly looked up at the statue "vinxa Mondrenic..."

Vensis: "good. now let's go."

she started to walk down the hill. Ember hopped down from the altar and followed.

Ember: "Mistress?"

Vensis: "yes?"

Ember: "are you mad at me?"

Vensis looked at her "yes! and i have half a mind to strike you for being so impolite... but i'll punish you differently since you're so young... you're not allowed to play with the other dragons in the village for 3 days and you get no supper tonight!"

Ember lowered her head "... yes Mistress..."

they got to the village and walked into the fortress. Vensis looked at Ember.

Vensis: "go to your room!"

Ember went towards her room, she walked inside and closed the door, there was nothing much in her room except a small bed, a window and a small statue of Mondrenic. Ember slowly walked over to her bed and laid down on it.

Chapter 8,

Ices and Dragsooth were walking towards the village's small temple.

Dragsooth: "why are we going to the temple mommy?"

Ices: "i already told you, we're going there so that you may be blessed by the gods."

Dragsooth: "but i thought you said i was already blessed."

Ices: "well you are but it's a tradition for all young dragons to get blessed in our temple."

they got to the temple and walked inside, the four dragon elders were there and there were also four life sized dragon statues at the back of the temple, the statues were four different colors, red, yellow, green and blue. elder Malak walked up to Ices and Dragsooth. he looks at Dragsooth.

elder Malak: "are you ready young Dragsooth?"

Dragsooth: "yes elder."

elder Malak: "did your mother teach you what to say to the gods when we're done?"

Dragsooth nodded.

elder Malak: "good... now follow us."

the dragon elders walked to the back of the temple each one standing in front of a dragon statue.

elder Malak: "Dragsooth come stand next to me. you're first going to receive the blessing of the fire god Berylsythe."

Dragsooth came over and stood beside the elder.

elder Malak sits down and bows his head low to the red dragon statue "jennu ixen ithquent Berylsythe tiichi nomeno ghergo sililos darastrix. origato jacion grow persvek wer vers di douta jennu relgim ixen. origato douta tiichir confn ruadii jacion."

the eyes of the statue glowed and the light shown on Dragsooth.

elder Malak: "vinxa Berylsythe."

the eyes of the statue stopped glowing.

Dragsooth looked at the statue and he bowed his head a little "vinxa Berylsythe."

the other 3 dragon elders called Dragsooth over to them and the words were repeated for each of the statues. the statue of Zygoren the electric god, the statue of Fayveer the ice god and the statue of Thraklor the earth god. Dragsooth thanked each of the gods in draconic when each of them blessed him through the statues. Ices thanked the elders and she and Dragsooth walked out of the temple.

Ices: "you did a good job today Dragsooth."

Dragsooth: "thank you mommy." he smiled at her.

Ices smiled back at him.


sorry i just didn't feel like doing the same steps in translating the same words for the other elders... next chapter coming tomorrow.

There's no need to by sorry, it's your fanfic/story and you can write it the way you want to. (Well. . . i'm sorta pointing out the obvious .)

Chapter 9,

two years later Ember grew into a normal, young, playful, 5 year old dragoness. today Vensis was going to teach her to fly, both of them were walking up a large hill.

Ember: "Mistress why are you going to have me fly off this hill?"

Vensis: "flying is a instinct for us. so i shouldn't worry about you falling. this is how my parents taught me to fly."

they got to the top of the hill.

Vensis: "now flap your wings, get a running start anf jump into the air."

Ember: "but-... but what if i fall?"

Vensis: "you'll live through it. quit being a coward!"

Ember nodded once "yes Mistress."

Ember started to flap her wings, she got a running start and jumped in the air off the edge of the hill, she felt herself fall but she didn't touch the ground, she flapped her wings heavily and realized she was hovering above the ground, a big smile came across her face. she looked back at Vensis.

Ember: "Mistress!... Mistress i'm flying!"

Vensis: "yes good... now fly forward."

Ember spread out her wings and flew forward flapping them often. she enjoyed the almost weightless feeling of being able to soar like this. she flew a bit higher.

Vensis: "come back here. that's enough."

Ember turned around and flew back to the hill, she landed on the ground.

Vensis: "now let's go to the training room and work on your fighting skills."

Vensis walked down the hill, Ember followed.


Ices and Dragsooth were in an open field just outside their village. Ices was trying to teach Dragsooth how to fly.

Ices: "before flying you have to make sure you have the power within your wings to lift your body into the air."

Dragsooth: "how do i do that?"

Ices: "you flap your wings several times until you feel the power within them."

Dragsooth started to flap his wings gently at first but got faster, he started to feel the power in his wings. suddenly he noticed his front paws were off the ground and them his whole body was above the ground, he didn't stop flapping his wings. he was hovering a few inches off the ground. he looked surprised.

Ices: "that's very good Dragsooth. now try to fly forward."

Dragsooth spread out his wings and flew forwards flapping his wings.

Ices: "good... now try to land."

Dragsooth flew lower and landed. he walked back over to his mother.

Ices: "that was very good... you're really learning fast."

Dragsooth smiled "thank you mommy."

Ices smiled back at him and they went towards the village.

Chapter 10,

it was late at night Ember walked outside the fortress, she was going to get a drink from the small lake near the village, but something caught her attention. at the front of the village she saw a large gathering of dragons. she wondered what they were all doing there. she walked over towards them and saw they were all wearing armor. she stopped behind a black dragon.

Ember: "ummm... excuse me?"

the dragon looked at her "what?"

Ember: "what is everybody doing here so late at night?"

dragon: "we're going to attack the enemy village that we've been at war with for countless generations."

Ember: "oh... can i do anything to help?"

dragon: "not until you're older and a better fighter... now go back to bed child."

Ember went back towards the fortress. Vensis was at the front of all the dragons, she was also wearing armor.

Vensis: "rumor has it that 5 years ago when all of you were attacking the village of our enemy the purple dragon and his mother escaped the village and were not found during the raid... that's why this time we're going to split up, fly in different directions and block all the ways of leaving the village so that if they try to escape again we'll catch them... if you catch the purple dragon bring him here alive. is that understood!?"

all of the dragons: "yes Mistress!"

Vensis: "good!... now let's move out..." she took to the skies.

the rest of the dragons followed behind her. they flew above the clouds.

Vensis: "all of you break up into equal groups of four!"

the dragons broke up into four groups.

Vensis: "each group will attack the village from different sides!"

they were now above the village.

Vensis: "now everyone split up!"

the four groups of dragons split up and flew at the village from different sides.
