Well, apart from looking dog-like, Sparx called one of 'em a mutt.
But, they're supposed to be apes! And they serve Gaul? Or do they? They never took Spyro to him...

I think they could be either, because they were probably on the way to Gaul. But, then again, they would have come faster, wouldn't they have?

thats why im wondering. they never did take spyro to gaul so thats the question.....do they or do they not serve gaul? AAHHH*freaks out*

This should be in the TEN section, since it talks about the pirates from the game.

Well, I put it in general anyway, but yeah...

The Pirates has the nose of a dog and the ears of one. They were modeled after the Apes, which is why they attacked Spyro the same way the Apes do.

TBH, spyro16 was the one wondering in the first place, but I think they're more like apes...

im just wondering cause every time i look at my avatar i wonder if they are dogs cause they have those big ears and....come to think of it they are the only enemies in the game(that i have noticed) w/out glowing eyes. plus they have that dog-like face wich is why my sister thinks that they are cute.(shes crazy.)in fact, shes actually the one who picked my avatar cause i did not know wich one i wanted so i let her pick one.(big mistake.)

I always thought they were dogs because of their dog-like snouts and ears. Also, doesn't Skabb look like a dog, too?

And I don't think they work for Gaul. I did at first, but now I think they may be more like random enemies that have nothing to do with the real plotline of the story.

I think they're dogs. Their models are after the ape's ones, but pirates don't always say 'Ya scurvy dogs!'? *talk like a pirate day. Yup*

They work for Skabb, I think.

The Chronicler said they're apes! They make Ape noises too! Ugh, this is just one more way they screwed up LOS, and one more thing for people to fight about.

The Pirates don't have the nose and body structure of an Ape, even Skabb looks more like a dog than an Ape. They are dogs, I mean look at their ears and noses closely if you still think they're apes.

But the pirates and Gaul's Apes look the same, don't they?

The Pirates look like dogs to me. The nose kinda gave it away there. They kinda bark and squeal too. And gotta love the Cpt. Skabb tounge.

These pirate guys don't work for Gaul. They were ATTACKED by Gaul's forces, they STOLE Cynder from the pirates AND they bombed the pirates' ship. How much evidence do we need?!

Also, like mentioned above, The Chronicler said that ALL the apes worked for Malefor = the pirates are not apes = They're probably dogs.

Of course they're dogs. The pictures I posted up are there for a reason. To show the differences between the Pirates and the Apes. The Pirates are Dogs.

Do you guys see the difference in those pics? If not, then you need to play TEN again and pay attention to the character designs.

Thats just poor designs really, they're meant to be dogs but Krome didn't make much difference between them... They have the same attacks and make the same sounds as the apes do... Maybe thats why they changed the apes so much later on in the last level...

I said "probably" because there's no way to prove that they ARE dogs. Just that they aren't apes. They could be thylacines for that matter.

That was an odd error; I didn't mean to.

I think the Pirates look like badgers(same black and white pattern in the face), except the tail. They might be a mix of creatures.

yeah, their ship IS atacked by the ACTUAL apes therefor the pirates cant be apes although they may seem like it. if you take a better look at the cutscenes you can tell that they are dogs not apes.

What about the quote in The Legend Of Spyro: The Eternal Night? Right after the fire dream, and in the cutscene before the fight, Sparx says, "Hey, ugly ape guy! *Monkey Noises*"

That was when Spyro was fighting the Apes when they attacked the temple, remember? They were sent from the Well of Souls, and they were absolutely not the Pirates.

The Pirates didn't even know about the Dragon Temple. The Apes did.

They are. The Pirates are obviously dogs.

When they refused to give Cynder to the Apes, the Pirates were attacked by the Apes since they were attacking their ship. They're in no alliance with one another.
