Unless Activision make a decent original styled game, then I probably wouldn't ever get it... Personally, I think they should stick to doing something their good at... Making a more, shall I say, violence orientated game, not saying that TLoS is really violent, but its more violent than one of the originals...

If Activision can make a Spyro game as original as the old trilogy, then I'll buy it. If they do a Spyro game that's similar to the LoS trilogy then I'll buy it also.

And Activision already has a lot of developers now, including Estranges Libellules.

My friend thinks that Activision should sell Spyro to Ubisoft due to their awesomess with Rayman (Except when the made the rabbids). I found myself agreeing with her...

Or maybe Stardock, they seem to really care about the quality of the games they produce (particularly if they develop them). One game I am waiting for them is now entering beta 1z3, and there will be betas 2 and 3 at the least. No idea how they would do making a Spyro game (LOS or classic) but at least they care about making a good game that is not rushed.

For those that want to look the game up, it is Elemental: War of Magic.

If A new game is announced around E3, could we expect to see it released in the fall? Or do we have to wait till 2011?

I would say 2011... Most games that are actually announced at E3 are released the next year rather than later in the year...

Obviously there's no game this year, we woulda heard about it by now. Maybe next year but dont get ya hopes up.

Hang on, he said he wanted to take the fun out of making games. Not good, but it explains how Guitar Hero is so popular; the game is fun, but presumable not fun to make.

I personally think they should continue the TLoS series. I mean, it was a huge success and we are all kinda left standing here wondering what will become of Spyro and Cynder. I do miss seeing the old games, but there are plenty of them! Most of the Spyro franchise is the originals! I would like to see just one more TLoS game atleast

If you look at the number of units sold for DotD and all the classic games (or even one of them, for that matter), you'll find that the classics sold way more and so more money can be made off of the classics.

Well... we could look for what we had to look for when they started making TLOS series... Like they made Spyro more... Whats the word here, Older? maybe idk, but they gave Sparx a voice, Got rid of a bunch of characters € Made some new 1's... so maybe its the same thing for this "NEW DIRECTION"
They'll probably give spyro more features, Get rid of the elders, new villain (duh), Cynder new features, Sparx a new voice, Hunter get a bunch of new features, I mean when company's say a "NEW DIRECTION"... They change.. A LOT. If im wrong stop me now.

( EDIT: They probably wont get rid of the Elders... maybe though... Possibility 20% chance of happening) Well actually i don't really think any of this is going to happen, its just they've done it once... they probably going to do it again.

Activision should continue the next game in the LoS universe. They would be foolish to try and make the game to be just as good as the original three Spyro games.

But ANYONE could have written that so-called interview and posted it online. I've read that already too. I need to see video proof of Bobby himself saying those things, or something similar.

An OFFICIAL EXECUTIVE of gamespot did that interview with Robert Kotick, SpyroLUVA.

There are NO video interviews of him saying it. He said he wanted to take the fun out of making video games in a conference back in 2009, and they didn't a video on it. And if you're still not convinced by that link, I don't know what will.

Eh, if you say so. I still think it's highly strange that he could say something like that without someone confronting him about it.

A lot of people and gamers were against him for saying that and they are still are, but he still does it, just for the money. The developers probably aren't having fun developing the games while that Kotick's in charge.

Sadly, no. And I'm surprised they haven't thrown him out yet.

That's the thing that bugs me. Ppl are unhappy with him, and yet thay still buy his stuff and work for him. I understand that the ppl working for him need to do so to make a living, but if they work for someone so greedy just for the money, aren't thay greedy like him too? (At least the ones who aren't in serious need of the money, like ppl supporting thier education, kids or sick relatives).

They probably didn't have any choice. With the economy and all.
