I've just been curious for a while now to know if there are any. I've met one or two Spyro fans who are 25+, but they're few and far between. Am I the only old fart who still plays these games?

Also, older fans (if you exist), what's your favorite game in the franchise (console, hand held, etc)? Mine's still "Ripto's Rage" after all these years, but I like AHT, too.

I've been playing since 2000, and my favorite probably has to GtG and then ANB. The humor, adventure, and characters was what made them so memorable for me to name them my favorite.

Ripto's Rage is my favorite, second to Year of the Dragon and the first Spyro the Dragon game. :3

Well, I've been alive since before the days of the Super Nintendo. Gateway to Glimmer is still my favorite, but music wise I'll always enjoy Year of the Dragon's soundtrack the best. I liked what Copeland and Ryan Beveridge did in that game. <.<;

Ive got Y.O.T.D and im trying to get Riptos Rage and Spyro the dragon but of course now a days u cant ever find any of those around stores... the only place u ever hardly find the old spyro games are like on Ebay or something and the game is like scratched or damaged.

i love the 1 st 3 games best.

Well I guess it depends on what you classify as old, but I digress. Yeah, I guess I'm old... and out of the original trilogy I say YotD is my fav. Just the fact that you can control other characters and the story to me was so charming that I just couldn't enough of it when I was younger.

Still need to play the originals over again and ascertain on why I like them to begin with.

And you guys don't just have to be fans of the Insomniac games. Those are my favorites, but I'm curious about what games in the franchise the other oldsters like me enjoy.

Very well, I do like ETD and AHT far more than I like TLOS. I know that ETD was not a finished game, and I feel that my opinion on it is nothing but pufferyat this moment. This being that I only played and beat it once. But nonetheless as it stands at the moment, I enjoyed ETD and AHT far more than LOS.

In a nutshell from greatest to least it goes like this:
1 Original Trilogy
2 Post Trilogy
3 TLOS

Heh, yeah. Given that EtD was an obvious beta, there's at least a reason for it to be as bad as it is. LoS has no excuse. I guess I'll give my preferences, too:

1. Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage
2. Spyro: Year of the Dragon
3. Spyro the Dragon
4. Spyro: A Hero's Tail
5. LoS: the Eternal Night
6. LoS: A New Beginning
7. LoS: Dawn of the Dragon
8. Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly

I feel like I'm going on rant mode again :-/, but LOS... *sigh* I don't understand why it is what it is to be honest. Of course that's my opinion, others are free to disagree of course, but DOTD was a really, really bad anniversary present... Hmm I guess I should digress on that subject, I wouldn't want this thread going up in flames .

Sad though, I feel like I always gotta say: "Its my opinion" to avoid getting relentless attacked by TLOS fans :-|. Jeeze heaven forbid someone have an opposing idea on a game series, OH MY! *rolls eyes*

AHT is my third favorite game. At least it recognized that it was mediocre and made fun of itself for that. ^.^

I've played Spyro ever since the first came out. But the first one I recieved was the 2nd, and then I played the 1st, 3rd, SoI, exc. Lately I've been playing a round of Ripto's Rage on my PS2, and ANB on my DS. I may want to pull out and play AHT for fun.

Favorite of them all would be StD and ANB. Both are fresh of magic and adventure.

I have played the first games when i was a kid. Sure i think those games were awesome but for some reason i consider TLOS spyro to be a different guy.

It helps that LoS is a franchise reboot and the Spyro in it is literally a different guy from the one in the earlier games.

Well, I'm younger than 20+ years, but I enjoyed Year of the Dragon the most out of the three originals, probably because it was the first Spyro game I ever played. I also want to say something: it saddens me to see all of the oppression and discrimination that goes on against the fans of the original games. I wish some of these people would just get over the fact that we all like different kinds of things, including Spyro games, and it's not their job to try to change that. In fact, that's why I don't come on here as often as I used to; the huge mess of spam, flaming, and other various insults that got mixed in with the normal discussion got to me. In case you're wondering, I'm what I call a neutral fan of Spyro-I enjoy both types of the Spyro games, and try very hard not to be "in the bubble"(of TLoS fans) or "in the wastelands"(of the Originals fans). So now that that's out of the way, I have a question: what the heck is a Cyntard, and why are they so annoying?

I guess I've been blessed that I haven't encountered any of these... Cyntards lately, but I did have my fill of Krystal Fan Boys, err, and girls. Apparently even girls can obesse over a female character just as, or more so than their male counter parts . BUT that's another story

Really? The ones I've dealt with are all over the board, but the most obnoxious ones have been boys under the age of 18. And that one teenage girl who was way too easily offended.

Few of them are over 18. They think Cynder's an adult in DotD, but she's underaged. Who would waste their idolizing an animated character for the rest of their life? Obsessed Cyntards of course.

Hopefully she is not too much into Cynder to the point where she will actually do... "things" to her that would involve a certain physical activity ° .

Anyway, uhh, Yeah Ripto's rage did introduce the whole different area thing for Spyro which was greatly enhanced in YOTD. I still like YOTD better though, the fact that you can play as four different people was intriguing to me, outside of RPG's anyway.

Actually, that's why she was so bothered. I drew Cynder and Ember kissing for larks and she responded with the fantastically hypocritical "I'm okay with gays but it's wrong when it's characters I like!". It inspired me to do even more Cynder/Ember art (that pairing really is a lot more interesting than Cynder/Spyro and the reactions it gets are priceless ).

Still, silly-ness aside. It is disturbing that one would stoop to such a low level of compassion over a fictional character. I kinda understanding having a crush, but actually in love with such fictional character? Yeah, probably should stick to reality there people

Oh, this was all some time back, HIR. I stopped drawing Cynder period because of her fantards and I've moved away from drawing fanart in general because I have better things to do with my time.

Oh, of course there are worse fans out there, but those guys I stayed away from. The reason I slammed face first into the Cyndorks is because there weren't any until DotD came out. As soon as that game was released, I kid you not, they came out of the woodworks. It was obnoxious.

I'm 19 and love the spyro games for ps1/ps2 and still play them. Spyro is AWSOME
