I was thinking about how tiring it is to chat on your guestbook and private messages. So I was going to say, is a chat room possible to get on this site?

yeah a chat room would rock like on face book its better to see which friend is online and a little chat box in the left hand corner

Personally I wouldn't mind if it had a system in which the user can enable a ding or sound to go off every time they receive a PM.

That would take awhile to cold to make it work correctly like the way you want it work. A message to the top saying "<Number> of PMs has been received." could work better.

Or, couldn't we have a little bar in the corner of our browser that shows the number of friends online, and when you click on it it brings of the list of exactly who, and clicking on their names will open up a chat window which you can then send messages back and forth while browsing the forums? Kinda defeats the purpose of PMs though...

Actually, on the forum listing, at the bottom there's a list of users online, and users who are your friends and are online are in green..

I don't know if its possible for dark 52 to implement this but I think it would be a good idea, only problem is that he wouldnt be able to monitor it incase of abuse.
