For how many Spyro games there are, and the wide array of platforms, you'd figure the series would be a lot more popular.

It would seem that way. Maybe a lot of people aren't fond of cute, purple dragons?

I didn't make this as a hate all other games topic. I made it merely to point out that it's odd there are so many games with such little popularity. Usually series that have that many games have made at least a good chunk of money, so they makers know to make more.

Although, in my story, I might put some zombie hunting in it. Even though there dragons. xD

Zombies are overrated

Zombies are cool lol xD the thing about Spyro is lack of major replayability, it has no multiplayer at all, i'm not even going to count the 2 player in dawn, compared to things like halo 3 which came out 4 YEARS ago, and still has millions of players a week? and gears, borderlands,battlefield,etc it's like assassins creed, once youve done it once, Theres no multiplayer, so you trade it in. halo3 has a multiplayer you don't want to lose.

Spyro was pretty popular when it was new (as in, Insomniac games). EtD pretty much shot the franchise in the head when it came out and it's never recovered.

Its just because of Spyro's genre. Shooter games are by far the most popular, always was the most popular, and always will be. If you ever go into a video game store, the majority of them is shooter games.
No ones into fantasy or puzzle games (like spyro) as much as shooter.
But if they made a movie, I bet he would become a lot more popular.

Spyro isn't really a puzzle game...it's more of a children's platformer (tLoS not included >.>)

To be honest, I saw nothing really 'un-kid-friendly' in LOS, other then some creepy enemies, but when we've got kids playing Dead Space at ten or so, I don't think it matters...

I would be surprised if an old Spyro fan never saw the message in the credits, signaling the Old Spyro's end.

I think we all need to realize Spyro keeps getting passed from one company to another again and again. :\

I think Spyro is ADORABLE and the games should be popular. Also, I don't like zombies or ninjas or cute animals but I love knight games (Darkest Faerie, for example)
