When Spyro first learned how to fly, I thought it was a magical moment. The time when he flaps his wings and hovers off the ground, souring his way to Dante's Freezer. I found it funny when he tried to land on the ground once he got there :3

That was a great cutscene. However, Ignitus didn't make much sense, "Forget yourself. Only through forgetting, will you remember what your ancient blood already know." I kinda lol'd when he said that.

I could never really take that scene seriously. At first, it's heartwarming and sweet, but a lack of planning on the part of the creative team and some awkward camera work made it one of the most unintentionally funny things I've seen in a while. It led to the creation of this comic.

It's from one of shalone-sk's Spyro pictures. He recolored it yellow.

Ah, okay. I wasn't entirely sure if that was it or not. She (ShaloneSK) did a good job mimicking the EL style for that drawing.

I daresay it's one of my favorite scenes in the game. I just found it really cute, and I really liked the cutscene directly before that as well. (Ignitus seemed so happy )

And on the subject of lulz, did anyone notice Sparx's facial expressions when Spyro started to lift himself off the ground? Gets me every time.

Apologies for bringing up that comic. That awkward cut in the animation has and always will mess that scene up for me, but the heart of it is still sweet.

I'm going to have to look at Sparx's face next time.

No need to apologize at all - the comic was all in good fun and it had to do with the topic anyway. I've never seen the awkwardness you see in the scene, but hey, nothing wrong with a difference in opinions. Besides, we are agreed that the intention was sweet, at least, and I think that matters more.

I actually didn't notice it either the first few times, mainly because Sparx isn't really in the main focus of the scene.

I liked that cutsceane but i dont see how Spyro can just fly by sticking his wings out, his body is too heavy for the size of his wings, and they made them a crapy shape.

He certainly had a better design than in DOTD though, same with Cynder

He's a magical fire-breathing puppy-lizard. Flying isn't that far a stretch.

Agreed, he kinda looked un-emotionless in DOTD :3

They improved both of there bodys and wings in dawn of dragon (spyros wings still could have used some work) the only thing is that they needed to smile. Well atleast now Spyros wings are almost big enoth and the right shape, and that cynders head is normal, and she dosent have giant heavy daggers on her wings (that wouldnt let her fly)

Their wings are all wrong in DotD, they need to be connected to the body all the way and not just at the joint.

Thats because they were turned into Teenagers, they were still only very young in ANB and TEN, and had a much better Character design. Cynder's head was better in ANB and TEN, and it wasnt that big. Most young creatures have quite a large head, but as they grow their body gets bigger, and the head nearly stays the same. Krome was the better choice for design rather than EL, the Characters looked a lot better.

I think when he has to dodge the ice bergs is epic!!

This is my favorite level! If only they replaced the cutscene before the Celestial Caves in TEN with a level like this...
Turrets=Pirate ships
Dreadwings=Skurvywings

And just before a ship blows up a Pirate or two will try to attack Spyro and you need to dodge them. The big ship would be the ship with the Arena. And the icebergs would be fiery chunks of the Pirate Ships.

I think it wasn't quite flying... Spyro wasn't flaping his wings, it was a giantous glide... And it's funny, but it looks like makers of God of War 2 took the flying scene from ANB, it looks almost the same!
And about Spyro flying with small wings... Bees have also too small wings and too fat bodies to fly, every physicist will say you that, so why can't Spyro fly, when he is so big, fat and purple? (I love Sparx's quotes from ANB xD)

That's like the whole 'bees can't fly because there bodys are bigger then the wight of there wings' thing, spyro just rocks and can fly with small wings.
