Umm... not really. A lot of game s have got health and mana, as in HEAPS. Not just God of War. GOW probably ripped it off something else. I mean theres health and mana in Morrowind, God of war, Guild wars, WOW, Eversword, Eragon(crappy game), and a whole lot more. God of War was hardly the first.

Actualy, if you've seen the exact design of the health/mana bar then you will see that it is ripped off... It is exactly the same as the one in DOTD...

I've seen it. I don't think Spyro would've stolen that, as much as they look slightly similar do you really think the Spyro game creators would say:
"Hey look over here Jim, god of war has a health and mana bar. lets copy it because we can!"

Just about every single plotline has been used before. In fact, really popular or common plotlines are called arcetypes. With the most common being the 'Heroic Quest'.

The Heroic Quest pattern starts off with an invitation to adventure, this invitation could be asked, and denied, if one chooses (Red or blue pill anyone?). Or the character could be 'thrown' into adventure (And down the rabbit hole she goes!).

Then you have conflicts. Self explanatory.

Then there is the element of the alternate ego. Where the protagonist changes from how he used to be, into the 'ego' of his hero self.

And last but not least, the end of the Heroic Quest. This includes the hero changing/finding what he wanted or was searching for/dying (literally or metaphorically)

Off the top of my head, it is a direct knock off of:

Lord of the Rings (movies and especially the games)
Star Wars (the new trilogy specifically)
any generic fantasy book sold today

It takes elements from:
Dragonlance (dragons types)
God of War (gameplay)
Avatar the Last Airbender (elemental powers)
Star Wars (Malefor = prequel Darth Vader wannabe; Ignitus IS Obi Wan, etc)
A Hero's Tail
Shadow Legacy (the entire plot, basically)

Honestly, when it comes down to it, there isn't anything very original about LoS at all, and that's just pathetic. There's no excuse for that much time and money to be poured into something so bland.

If you guys really want to get down to it, elements are technically only those molecules which are listed on the periodic table. Elements in fantasy are just a fancy and specific categorization of a certain kind of magic.
