Okay, here it is! Finally! The story you've been waiting for!

This fanfic (as noted above) holds within it, spoilers from DotD.. So if you haven't played it, and don't want to spoil your fun, you'd better not start reading this fanfic..

And, as some of you alrady know, this story is a sequel to my first fanfic, Spyro: The Second Beginning..
If you want to get much out of this story, I advice you to read the first one before starting, altough it is pretty long..

So, gimme some time, and I'll get started!

Okay, here it is, the first chapter..

Chapter 1.

Wind whistled in his ears, and the sounds of the sea roared below him..
Spyro stood in a familiar looking cliff, with a warm feeling in his heart..
Suddenly, he heard a voice behind him..

"Well, young dragon.. You finally did it.." low, friendly voice said..

Spyro turned his head, and saw the familiar form of Ignitus standing next to him..

"Ignitus?.. Is that you?.." He said..

Ignitus nodded, and said..

"I'd say you surprised me with your strenght.. Not many could have done what you did.."

"I.. I quess, but I had help.." Spyro said and turned his head another way..

When he looked back, Ignitus was disappeared, but in his place Spyro saw a familiar glowing dragonfly.. Sparx..

"What?.." He whispered, "Where did Ignitus go?.."

"Ignitus? You're crazy man, Ignitus is dead, don't you remember? Have you eaten something strange?.." Sparx said..

"But Sparx, you.." Spyro managed to say, when he blinked his eyes, Sparx was gone.. In his place there stood Volteer, facing the sea..

"Sparx?.. Spyro, I believe Sparx is dead, what are you talking about?.." Volteer said..

"Volteer!? What's going on?.." Spyro said, and backed away from him..

He turned around and hit his head on something big and firm.. When he looked up, he saw the grinning face of Malefor, staring at him..

"Well, well, well.. If it isn't Spyro.."Malefor said," Wandering around like a dog cast on the desert.. Volteer is dead you remember? I killed him.. And now I'm going to kill you!"

"NO!" Spyro woke up yelling..

He looked around himself, and noticed he had just been dreaming..

He covered his head with his paws, and stumped his face in the grass..

"Spyro, are you okay?.." Spyro heard Cynder's voice to say..

"What?.. Uh.. Yeah.. It was just a bad dream.. " Spyro said, he didn't want Cynder to see he was crying..

"Another one?" Cynder asked..

"Yeah, I saw Sparx this time, and others too.." Spyro said, swallowing his tears..

"You shouldn't think about it that much.. It's beginning to haunt you.." Cynder said..

"I know.. I'm just not sure how I'm going to tell my parents about Sparx.." Spyro said, "I still can't even believe that he's dead myself.."

"It'll be fine.. I know it's hard, but you can't let it control your life.." Cynder said..

"Yeah, I quess.." Spyro replied..

After the destruction of Malefor, Spyro and Cynder had travelled south to seek out Spyro's parents, and let them know of Sparx's demise..
So far Spyro had been suffering from depression and nighmares about everything he had lost...
The cheetah warriors, and moles that had helped Cynder on her way to Spyro, had all scattered and returned to their homes.. Only Hunter sticked with them on their journey..

What would happen?.. Only time will tell..

Kay, I'm having a bit of trouble starting this as I am pretty busy, and this fanfic is certainly not one of my top priorities..

Chapter 2.

The morning sun had already risen. Spyro, Cynder and Hunter were packing their gear, discussing about their destination..

"So it's not far away anymore?" Cynder asked..

"No, by my reckoning the village is just nearby.." Hunter said, "Altough I believe Spyro could give us a more precise answer on that.."

"I haven't been in there in years. I don't remember much of it.. I wonder if my parents still remember me.." Spyro said, while eating his breakfast..

"Sure they will!" Cynder said cheerfully,"I'm sure they'll be exited to see you after all this time!"

"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm afraid of.." Spyro said..

"Oh, why?.." Cynder asked..

"Because that would only make the news about Sparx even more shocking for them." Hunter answered for Spyro..

"Thanks Hunter.." Spyro said, and eyeballed him in a nasty way, "Sparx's well being was my responsibility, and I failed.."

"Spyro.. " Cynder said," Don't chew it over and over, It won't change anything.."

"I know, okay!" Spyro yelled at Cynder.. "Could we just go, I'm finished with this already.." Spyro said, and spitted the clean-picked bone in the woods..

"Yes, the sooner we leave, the sooner we get to our destination." Hunter said, and rose to his feet.

Spyro, Cynder and Hunter journeyd forth.. The swampy surroundings felt familiar to Spyro, and he started to feel exited again. This place had been his home for years, and now he was going to return, after a long time away..
The exitement was too much to bear..

Spyro started to babble about his memories linked with this area, and the Dragonfly Village. Cynder and Hunter listened to his stories, with more or less enthusiasm..

Spyro could already see the flowing river, and the lights of the village. A little, curious hatchling awoke inside his mind again..
He was going to get home..


There, you'll have more sooner because it's weekend tomorrow..
It's going to be a challenge, I've only played DotD and I have no idea how to describe the dragonfly village.. So my version will have to do..

I just noticed, There are even some readers here that have read my story since the beginning!

Edit: And of cource, thanks to you others too! You are the reason I'm writing this in the first place!

I'll write more today, but a little bit later.. Don't have the time right now..

Chapter 3.

Gazing at the lights of the nearby village, Spyro couldn't manage his exitement, he told others to hurry and started to run..
Cynder understood him perfectly, he hadn't visited his old home for years..

Spyro thought about what he would first say to his parents when he'd meet them, so many years had passed since they had last met..
Would they even regonize him anymore?..

When the three heroes finally readched the village, everything looked quiet. giant mushrooms covered the ground, large dragonfly nests hung from the trees, slowly swinging in the wind..

"Hello?.." Spyro managed to say quietly.. He had thought that people would race out to greet them at the moment they'd arrive..

"Is anyone there?" Cynder asked with a gentle voice..

Then, they heard quiet scathing from one of the nests.. A small wooden door opened, revealing a yellow baby dragonfly, curious enough to come see who was behind all that noise..

Then, another door opened, and soon five new tiny pairs of eyes were staring at them..

"Um.. Hello, I'm looking for my parents.. Have you.." Spyro said, but was interrupted by an old squeaky voice..

"Dragons?.. Here?.. What could possibly make you think you'd find more of your kind in our humble little village?.." An old dragonfly with a white glow said..

"I.. I lived here, years ago.. I'm looking for my parents, Flash and Nina.." Spyro answered.

"Oh my.. You must be.. *grumble* Spyro?.." The old dragonfly said..

Suddenly the village around them came alive. Inside the houses lights were lit, and soon the dark and shady grove was turned into a glowing network of lamps and dragonflies..

"Uh.. Flash and Nina you say?.. " The old dragonfly said, "Follow me, right this way.."

Spyro, Cynder and Hunter followed the old dragonfly, through the village. All the way to an old looking nest, with no lights lit..
The dragonfly flew towards the nest, and knocked on the door..
Spyro kept his distance, but tried to take a peek inside from the little windows..

Slowly the door opened, revealing a faint, red glow..

"Yes? What is it?.." Spyro heard a female voice to say..

The old dragonfly nodded towards Spyro, and flew aside..
Nina stared at Spyro for a while..

The she opened her mouth..

"Flash! Come quick!"

"What?!" Spyro heard a deeper, male voice to say, and saw the blue glow..

"Our son is back!" Nina yelled with joy in her voice!..


There, more in few days again..

I'll poast moar tomorrow, hold yourselves for a while..

'Kay, here it is..

Chapter 4.

"Son?.. Is that really you?.." Flash asked..

Spyro nodded, and couldn't help smiling a bit, despite of his thoughts about what he had come to tell..

"But.. Where's Sparx?" He heard Nina to ask..


..An long, akward silense occurred. Spyro heard Cynder to pull her breath..


"Spyro.. " She said, and turned her face towards him..

"Tha.. That's what I came here to tell.. I.." Spyro said quietly, looking at the ground..

"Oh my god!.. Something's happened!.." Nina said, she could see it from the grim look on her son's face..

"Mom, Dad.. I'm sorry, but.." Spyro pulled his breath, and braced himself for the worst,"..Sparx.. is dead.."

It lasted for couple of seconds for everyone to understand what he said, then quiet cries were heard among the other dragonflies..

Nina looked at Spyro, he could see a tear flowing down from her eye..

"No!.." Nina cried, then stormed back inside her nest and shut the door behind her.. Spyro's heart broke to million pieces, again..

Flash tried to follow her, but then decided to let her go.. He turned to Spyro and asked:

"Son.. What happened?.."

"I.. wish I could say I couldn't have done anything.." Spyro said with tears in his eyes, "But it was my fault.."

It was hard for Cynder to see Spyro crying, but she understood how he felt..

"I'm sorry I couldn't take care of him.." Spyro said, and pushed his head down..

"Son, listen.. I know you did your best.. I know you may feel like you let us down, but.." Flash said..

"But what about mom? Will she be okay?.." Spyro asked, and raised his head..

"I.. I can't say.. We are both shocked to hear this.." Flash replied..

"Sh.. Should I leave?.." Spyro asked him..

"What? No Spyro, why would you even think of that?.." Flash asked, "Stay here for a while, and we'll sort this out.. After some rest.."

Spyro nodded quietly, he turned around and walked away, leaving Flash, Cynder and Hunter behind..

"Spyro!.. " Cynder started, but Hunter stopped her..

"We should give him some time, Cynder.." He said..

"But I.." Cynder said weakly..


There, more in few days..
I hope that Flash and Nina seemed at least a bit shocked, I'm generally not very good at expressing emotions..
