Spyro sat timidly in his room; he had been shouted at by Terrador for a while and sent to his room. Grounded for a long time. But that wasn’t why he was agitated, he didn’t know how bad the injury’s were and, although he was well enough to get back to the temple, had he ruined her carer as the new fire guardian before she’d properly started?
He went to the window and looked out, Cynder had stayed with him for hours after they got back but eventually Spyro said she could go, it was sweet of her to stay so long but he knew she must have been bored, now she was sitting on the grass outside talking to Elixir.

“Hey, Cynder! CYNDER!” Cynder heard him and flew up to the window.
“Can you get Terrador for me? I need to ask him something,”
“Sure,” Cynder flew off and soon Terrador appeared at his door.
“What now Spyro? Haven’t you given us enough hassle?”
“It’s just…uh…can I…” Spyro stammered, he wasn’t sure how to say it.
“Spit it out!” Terrador growled.
“Can I talk to Fyah? Please?”
Terrador looked at him suspiciously for a moment “Ok, fine. Follow me”
Terrador lead him to a room where Fyah was recovering, Spyro walked inside. Fyah had a bandage around two of her legs and her wing had a bigger rip in it
“Erm…hi…” Spyro said looking at his feet. He looked back at Terrador and Fyah got the message.
“Terrador, leave us for a moment”
Terrador scowled at Spyro for a minute and then left, closing the door behind him.
“I just wanted to say…well…” Spyro fumbled with his paws, not daring to look at her. He cursed himself for being so shy and looked up. “I’m sorry…I didn’t mean to, well, I did but-“
“It’s ok, I’ve had worse”
“Will you get better?”
“I will, don’t worry about it”
“It’s just…I shouldn’t have been such and idiot…”
“I told you, it’s ok, and I know I could never replace Ignitus. He was one of the best fire guardians there was, it must be terrible losing someone so close to you, like a friend”
“He was more like my father” Spyro mumbled.
“Well I could never ever replace him then,” Fyah smiled.
Spyro laughed, maybe Fyah wasn’t as bad as he once thought.
