Personally, I think you're going way overboard with this. It isn't the end of the world if there just happens to be a theme park with two dragons that just happen to be purple and have names that remind you of Spyro and Cynder.

I know research, reading, and actual facts don't usually factor into this sort of fan indignation, but I have to try. Just did some Googling to clear things up. But first, here's something from Dictionary.com that everyone should know:

b. Geology: coarse scoriae erupted by volcanoes.

3. a live, flameless coal; ember.

6. Archaic. to reduce to cinders.

Now, for the facts about the characters of Cinders and Spike.

Alton Towers doesn't appear to have any dragon-themed attractions, nor does it seem to need them since it's home to one of the most famous roller coasters in the world, Nemesis (which I've always wanted to ride).

Spike and Cinders (those are the names I found) are part of a puppet show at a park called Chessington World of Adventure. Of them, Wikipedia has this to say:

"In the "Dragons Tale Theatre" there are two live action puppet shows entitled 'Spike on Safari' and 'Spike and the Missing Griffin', performed every day of the park open season. The shows feature the lands Mascot 'Spike' and his friend 'Cinders'. Other characters include Marvin the Monkey, Lionel the Lion, Amy the Elephant and Gloria the Griffin. The show also features a live actor as 'The Safari Ranger' and a video segment of 'Claude The Explorer' an old English jungle explorer."

The theme park opened in 1987 and Spike and Cinders' area of the park opened in 2004. The first LoS game, ANB, did not come out until 2006. And need I remind you that "cinder" is a real word and Cynder is not the only dragon to have had that as a name.

On the park site's Dragonland section, it says this about Cinders and Spike:

"SPIKE ON SAFARI
Come and join Spike and Cinders on a journey to the jungle - can the young dragons find the missing crown and return it to the king, or will the Marvin the naughty monkey get there first?
11.30, 13.00 daily"

And I even found a video of their second show, Spike and the Missing Griffin (Cinders appears at 3:45).

So, just to clear things up:

Cinders - puppet, created in 2004, named after volcanic expulsions, slag, or the cooling remains of a fire, spelled correctly, plural

Cynder - game character, created in 2006, also named after volcanic expulsions, slag, or the cooling remains of a fire, spelled wrong on purpose, singular

Cinders is not ripping off Cynder, nor the other way around. "Cinder" is, in actuality, a very common word and anyone who's ever sat around a campfire knows it. Now can we be done having a fit over nothing?

They Spikes and Cinders were at altern towers before TLoS... I looked it up, 2004... If anything, Sierra stole Cynders from altern towers...
