Dosent this look like the older version of someone.

Yeah I've always thought that. Maybe Spyro's dad, coz they did exist at the same time in the same game.

i have thought about that at time, and i agree with NEW_SpyroLUVA that it may be his dad, if you look closely at them you can see a few differences.

I first thought it was adult Spyro cause he had that medle (could have been for all his hard work) but now if they are in the same game (i didnt know that) i think its his dad.

I've always assumed that was adult Spyro. None of the other adult dragons have medals and Spyro has a logical reason for having been given one, plus this guy looks too much like Spyro to be a parent (not that dragons have any; see YotD for details).

Spyro doesn't have scales on his back, the adult picture has a beard, and the wings are too orange than pink like in the other picture. The snout is different, too.

The picture came from the first Spyro the Dragon game, in their little manual book that came along with the game.

Those differences could be due to puberty and growth. He grows facial hair in his teen and adult years, his wings darken, his snout changes, IDK about the spines though.

Actually the grown dragon is named Papa Dragon and insomiac planned for him to be featured in the game as Spyro's father, but they decided that it would be more interesting if Spyros' parents were unnamed and unknown, so they cut the poor old guy out.

Spyro has spines in a heros tail when hes older.

To be honest im quite glad its not adult Spyro because hes ugly. He looks more like Spyros grandad than his dad.

Where'd you get such specific info about "Papa Dragon", Lord_of_Sheeps? I've heard that before, but I'd like to know where it came from.

Its worth mentioning that, actually, young Spyro does have scales on his back. You can clearly see them between his wings in the image below the big dragon, and I spent enough time seeing his scaley butt while playing the games to remember that he had them back there. The two dragons' wings are the same color, too, it's just that the big one is standing with his wings in shadow. And all of the adult dragons in the Insomniac Spyro games walked on two legs (it was implied that a dragon went from being a complete quadruped as a youngster to being mostly bipedal as an adult). So it could still be adult Spyro, especially since his parents were dropped from the official canon.

Ultimately, we don't really know who this big dragon is. He could have been a concept model for Spyro's father who was scrapped during development, or a concept design for an ending to the game featuring an adult Spyro that got changed, or he was just some model designer goofing off and just wondering what Spyro looked like as an adult.

Hmmm... I don't know if he'll know, but I can always ask Oliver if he recognizes this dragon, though he didn't work on the first game until near the end of production.

What if he was a moddle for Spyro! if he was Spyro i wouldnt be a Spyro fan.

Only in the LoS version, Cynder9999. In all of the games before LoS where adult dragons were seen, they were all bipeds (Spyro 1, Spyro 3, AHT and SL most notably).

It's Spyro's dad and hes not terrifying, he looks a bit grumpy thats all.

I thought that was adult Spyro at first, but after seeing him in AHT, I knew that wasn't him.

AHT is in a completely different universe/setting and was made by different developers. This is the Insomniac version.

Well, regardless of the popular consensus, I still think it's cool if that's adult Insomniac Spyro. I used him as my character model base when I was designing an older Spyro for a comic.
