I gave both series a fair shake, and you all know my prefference.

Have you LOS fans done the same?

I have, and so have all LOS fans, except the ones who are like too young to even know about the originals... I like them equaly, the originals because they were really fun to play and I like TLoS because it was good for the type of game it was designed to be. For example, the combat system was good and I'm kind of glad that they made a re-boot to shove a combat system in, if they had done that in the originals it wouldn't have worked... Do you get what I mean? The two series kind balance eachother out...

I've played the classics... and I prefer the original series. The LoS series is good fun and it has an exciting plot, but it gets too serious for me and the characters get irritating towards the end of the story. I like the good old cheesy humour from the Insomiac era.

I have, probably was playing them before some people were born. So have some others. Heck, anyone over the age of 16 who lives/grew up in a middle class or higher family and is a fan of more than two video game franchises probably has played them.

Shadow Legacy was like a mix of old and new. I bet if it were released for consoles it would have kept the LOS style battly system, but also maintained the homor and light heartedness of the Classics.

I played the originals (1+2+3). I accidentally left the originals behind on our move from Philippines to Canada. I wanted my relatives to mail it to me, but I picked up ANB. After playing LOS, I told my relatives to keep those discs.

I did! Oh wait... >D

Okay, to be fair, I USED to be a LoS fan. But even when I was, it just didn't compare to the Insomniac games for me. I recall thinking it was better than EtD and AHT, but it wasn't any fun to actually play like the Insomniac games had been.

Now, the only Spyro game I think is worse than LoS is EtD. AHT has a funky sort of charm to it if you look at it in the right light.

Anyways, I wouldn't consider myself a LoS fan, but I've played all the console games.

I've played only the first two of the original series, but I really wanted to get Year of the Dragon.

Yeah, I played the original trilogy waay before TLOS. I don't know if I could be considered a TLOS fan though..I liked the concept but I didn't like the gameplay of the first two.

I've played both, but I have to admit the old series is higher in my favorite charts.

I have played spyro since the beggining. I not a fan of Los or original I'm just a fan of spyro, I like both universes

Ive only played the first one but I loved it Im planning on buying the others soon.As for wich series is my favorite...I really cant chose so i'd say there equal. I love them both for totally different reasons.

Yeah, though i think ANB and TEN could be better with more thought for graphics and character emotions, one big draw back in TLoS, all characters have no emotions...

What does that matter? Why can't a dragon have emotions?

^Don't you know the rules of Hollywood and the game studios? Dragons are only for killing and riding 95% of the time, and even though Spyro has some emotions, they're still heavily watered down as opposed to Mario.

But hopefully, by the time (if I actually can get there without California screwing my plans), that could be very different, and maybe dragons won't be associated with kids anymore either.

In honesty most animals have emotions, we just don't understand them. I'd be the same most likly, only agressive when challenged or protecting, not all the time. Game makers and anything to do with media are all stereo-typical:

"Collect the dragons treasure!"
"Fierce beasts dragons are"
"It protects..."
etc etc etc.......... Hello? Originallity?

Well yeah, kind of upsetting if you ask me.

And basically Spyro is a stereotype character himself:

Insomniac = Mascot With Attitude like Sonic, except he canz brathe tuh firez!

Sierra = Kid Hero with typical coming of age problems in a magical setting, like Harry Potter and other post-Tolkien fantasy involving kids.

Seen it a million times...

I'd actually like to see/play/read a dragon story where the main character isn't cliche, over-animated, and not under the adult age.

Yeah. Unfortunately, I have to admit that Insomniac's Spyro wasn't very original. <.<;

The originals were super fun and the LoS had a very good story.
