does anyone know if there is going to be a remake of the original spyro series?

I would like there to be...

It would be a good idea, but Activision would probabaly screw up one way or another...

They already tried remaking the originals.

Enter the Dragonfly was a disaster.

AHT just didn't capture the charm, and there were numerous gameboy games that tried to emulate the originals and it didn't work. No, they are not going to remake old spyro. Even if Insomniac just decided to buy back Spyro (which I doubt, it's been like 9 years and no word from them) it wouldn't be the same. They would revamp Spyro to make him more fit for the new gen consoles.

Now if you're talking about updating the old Spyro to new graphics, why in the world would they do that? It'd be a waste of money. Just get used to the fact it's for ps1. It's not graphics that count there, it's the game. I don't see them doing that to Mario, they left the classics along. Sure, the new super mario bros might be like the old mario, but even then, there's significant changes.

It's either TLOS or none at all, Spyro was quite close to dying shortly after the release of AHT.

Meh...Activision doesn't give a care, I highly doubt it'd happen. That's why it was released on PSN - so that if you want to play it, buy it for $5.

I agree; TLOS or nothing. I mean, Spyro shouldn't be changed AGAIN. The poor old franchise has been battered about enough already, leave him be.

Or merge or merge under other, new (or existing)franchise, that should work too.

I doubt they'll do it, but I have to say it would be great fun to play Year Of The Dragon with exactly the same storyline as before, but with really good graphics and sound quality.

I don't know. For some reason, it seems to be getting harder and harder for developers to create quality remakes of original games. Remakes seem to be getting lower and lower scores from critics and not really selling as well. Well, except for Pokémon. <.>

I agree >.> Aside from Pokemon, I can only think of about...2, maybe 3 remakes.

would be so cool if he went through the old spyros but in LOS form, i love the old ones as they are but i do love perpetual flight... and the multi breath option is awsome...

1. just re male 'em as they were
2. remake but with new concepts
3. remake and extend!

but they probably would louse it up however they tried...

would still play it tho
