“Raaaaaaaah!” Malefor screeched, he was losing the fight but was quick to regain control.
“Get off!” He growled, whipping Cynder away with his tail and biting Spyro. Spyro yelled out in pain and Cynder attacked again, this time jumping up high and using poison breath on him. Malefor flung Spyro away and into a wall, hit Cynder with his wing and wrenched Thoran off his neck.
Thoran darted away and stood beside Cynder looking worried. Now they didn’t have the advantage of surprise, it wasn’t going to be an easy battle.
“That was a better attack than I expected, shame you tried to beat the master!” He laughed, sending out a wave of electricity that they dodged.
“You’ll be beaten” Spyro snarled
“Oh really? By a weakling, an ex evil dragon, a cat and a cheetah who’s failed to hit me ONCE in that entire time we were fighting?!”
Hunter glared at Malefor and shot another arrow at him, but Malefor was ready for it. Tilting his head a little, the arrow bounced off his horn and back at Hunter, who stepped out its range quickly. It hit Tango in the side and she fell to the floor with a yelp.
“You are pathetic! I thought this fight would at least make me use my convexity breath!” he laughed. Spyro moved in to attack again and the second part of the fight started.

“Spyro! We can’t win!” Cynder yelled above the sounds of battle.
“No! We can!” He shouted back and swiped at Malefor’s head, which was returned with a huge blast of earth that sent him flying into a wall.
“He’s to strong!!!!” Cynder yelled again, anger filling her voice as she dodged another tail spin.
“He’s weakening!”
“Spyro! Open your eyes and smell the darkness! WE CAN’T WIN!!!!!”
“NO!!! WE CAN BEAT HIM IF WE TRY TOGETHER!” Spyro shouted.
He rose up and a purple ball of light surrounded him, Cynder did the same but her ball of light was dark blue. The light blasted away from them and hit Malefor. The two dragons hit the ground, purple and dark blue steam rising from there feet whenever they walked.
“DIE!” Spyro screeched. Then blasted Malefor with a beam of fury breath. Cynder did likewise.
He tried to dodge but was hit, grunting with the effort, he jumped high and hit the ground. A light purple ball surrounded Malefor, but this was a shield. Not a fury.
They hit him again and again but the shield only burst when they had both run out of breath energy.
“Now we’ll see!” Malefor growled, turning around and glaring at both dragons.

Thoran decided to sit out for the second part of the fight due to being knocked unconscious.

Maybe, originally, I was going to dress Spyro 'n Cynder up with fur and roll them in catnip so they smelt and looked like cats to scare Malefor! XD

But I decided that was a bit to silly ^^;

Spyro yelped as he was swept of his feet and slammed into the ground. Malefor blew fire in his face and kicked him to the side.
Hunter shot an arrow into Malefor shoulder; he yelled in pain and charged at him. Hunter dodged just in time; Malefor stepped on Tango who screeched instead. He laughed and lashed out at Cynder with his horns. She jumped and landed on his back.
“Rrrrrr” She growled and bit into his neck.
“Argh” Malefor turned and sent Cynder flying into a wall with a claw; her blood splattered the wall of the cave.
“Cynder…are you ok?” Spyro said breathlessly, running out of range from Malefor’s lashing tail.
“I’m….okay” Cynder said, unable to keep the pain from her voice.
Tango moaned from the floor but she was ignored. Hunter shot three arrows at Malefor, only one hit, and the fight continued.
“Stupid Malefor. Stupid Hunter. Grrr” Tango mumbled. Slowly, she got to her feet. Cringing, she pulled the arrow from her side (Which was stupid because you shouldn’t pull arrows from your side because that just makes the wound bigger. But Tango didn’t know this) she looked up at the battle, they were losing. Another 5 minutes and Malefor would have won. She glared at him. She took the arrow in her hand, and threw it.
Then, everything seemed to go much slower than when they had been fighting. Malefor’s eyes expressed surprise. He hadn’t been expecting that, and now? He stumbled, his eyes closing, towards the wall. Cynder jumped forwards and dragged Thoran away before Malefor fell on him. He gave a weak gasp and his eyes closed for the last time.
“He’s…dead?” Spyro said, moving towards him to see if he really was dead. But it was pretty obvious, one of Hunter’s arrows sticking out his forehead.
Still no one knows if it was a miracle or just plain luck. But with that one throw, the great and mighty Dark Master was killed.

Tango stumbled over to where the others were standing and glared at Malefor’s body “Good riddance to bad rubbish!”
“He’s….dead”
“Thank you captain obvious” Tango said sarcastically, she was not in the best of moods.
Spyro glared at Tango before continuing “I mean, I thought some super fury was supposed to kill him. I though I was supposed to kill him….that’s what the legends said…that’s what….that’s what I was made for….” Spyro murmured.
“Never mind, all that matters now is that he’s dead” Cynder said, putting one wing around Spyro.
Hunter was just staring at Tango with a What-on-earth-how-did-you-do-that? Look.
“If anyone has realised, I have a huge arrow wound in my side and would like to get back to the cheetah village before I die!”
Them the atmosphere changed.
“Oh yeah, come on” Hunter said, starting to walk out Malefor’s lair.
“We should go to” Spyro said quietly, and started walking off.
“Uh, SPYRO? Aren’t we FORGETING Something?” Cynder said and gestured with her wing.
“Oh yeah”
Cynder went over to Thoran and started dragging him out the cave.
“How are we supposed to get him back?”
“Mmmm?” Thoran murmured.
“Oh good your awake”
“Yeah…” Thoran said, he sat up and looked around. “Did we win?”
“Yep”
“Oh good, are we going back to the temple?”
“Yep”
Thoran jumped on Cynder back and they started flying home.

Spyro look at the ground he was flying over silently thinking about the vision dragon.
Cynder glanced at him and sighed “Spyro…I know it was you destiny but you don’t have to-“
“No, Cynder, I am fine about that. I don’t really care who killed Malefor as long as he’s dead and won’t bother us again”
Cynder smiled at Spyro and Spyro smiled back. But when she looked away he started thinking again, who was that dragon? Why was he purple? Why was he warning him not to even try to defeat him? Whatever the answers those questions were, Spyro could feel even after Malefor had died, the land would still not be in peace.
“Spyro, snap outta it! Were here” Cynder said, slightly annoyed but more curious.
“Oh, sorry”
Cynder landed with Spyro and as they started walking up to the guardians she whispered to him “What’s bothering you Spyro? I can tell something’s on your mind”
“It’s nothing Cynder, nothing for you to be worried about”
“Good, now Malefor is dead we will finally have some peace” Terrador interrupted them. “Now you two should get some rest, you too Thoran”
Thoran nodded and followed Cynder to her bedroom, where he fell asleep on the windowsill. Cynder smiled and went to sleep, but Spyro wasn’t having suck a good night.
“KILL THE RIP! KILL HER!” The purple dragon screeched in Spyro’s dreams.
“WHAT IS THE RIP?” he shouted above the whirling wind.
“The rip….kill her or I WILL!” The dragon shouted, the wind now whistling loudly around him. Fog started to gather and he started to fade out.
“NO! COME BACK! WHAT’S THE RIP? WHY DO I HAVE TO KILL HER?!” Spyro shouted but the was no answer. He looked around and saw a large building flying towards him. “No!” he managed to whisper before to crashed into him and brought Spyro back to reality.
“Cynder!” he said quickly, running down the corridors to her room, quietly, he pushed his head around the old wooden door. Cynder was still there. He pulled his head back with a sigh of relief.
Making his way back to his room, his mind was full of questions now. Who was that dragon? Why did he have to kill the rip? Who was the rip? None of these questions being answered, he fell back to sleep.

She looked to the left. He wasn’t there. She looked to the right. He wasn’t there either. “Thoran?” Cynder said, confused.
She got up and looked around again. It was morning and she had hoped to ask him if he was going to stay.
“What if….he’s already gone?”
“If who’s already gone?” Asked a voice from the door.
“Thoran!” Cynder said, turning around. “ARE you staying?”
“Well…I haven’t got much left back there, so I’ll stay a while…”
Cynder smiled, she had hoped he’d say that.

“Spyro? Are you okay?” Cynder asked Spyro, he was sitting on a hill watching the sunset. Cynder had been worried because he hadn’t been near the temple all day.
“I’m….fine” Spyro said
“No your not, what’s wrong?”
“Just a bad dream Cynder”
“Spyro, look at me” He turned away from the sunset to loom at Cynder.
“I can tell something’s wrong, tell me Spyro…”
“It’s no-“
“Spyro! It’s not nothing! If it’s big enough to make you behave like this then it’s important to me!”
Spyro looked at her, wondering whether to tell her about the purple dragon or not, he wondered if he should…
“It’s just that…” Spyro paused.
“That?”
“I was wondering if Tango was ok, she did get shot with a. arrow” Spyro said quickly.
Cynder didn’t look convinced but she didn’t push further. “Why don’t we go see her?”
“Ok, I’d like that”
The two started flying out to the cheetah village, Spyro just happened to look back. He saw him again. The purple dragon.
“Kill the rip….” He whispered. And was gone.
