ive been thinking of buying the PS2 version of this game, but is it really worth it?

well every1 has there own opinions. i enjoyed it LOL i thought it was gr8t. i hve it for the wii n i'm thinking of buying it for the 360 hehe

It's not worth paying full price for. If you can get it for $20 or less, maybe, but don't waste $50 on it.

not worth it.i was lucky and got it for christmas,but the game is horrible.

If you like the TLoS series, get it. People who dislike it don't look beyond they see as is (or used the PS2/Wii/DS version that sucked).

Now that's not fair. I liked the LoS just fine before DotD. I think it's a mixed bag; if you like Cynder's looks more than her personality and a good ending to a story, you'll love DotD. If you like good stories, decent gameplay and good voice acting, chances are you will hate DotD. If you loved ANB and TEN, you will likely not enjoy the turn the series takes with DotD.

It's always best to judge something for yourself, so if you can get it for cheap or free, go for it. Just don't pay full price. It's absolutely not worth that.

Oh, and according to GameRankings, DotD is, on average, no better/a little worse than A Hero's Tail according to the reviewers.

I you like free roaming and less button mashing, then I am sure you will like DOTD.

Get a used, cheap copy.

I would recommend it. Everyone has their own opinions, but I thought it was really good. I got it for PS2 and the graphics weren't as amazing as the screenshots on this site, but they were good for PS2. You probably know what has happened since everyone on the site has stopped using the spoiler alerts because they think everyone already has the game, but I think you should get it.

PS2?Graphic is bad,there's a lot of glitches and PS2 version just killed me.So,as Shenzi said,you can get a copy of it,it's just not worth of all that money.But that's my opinion.

I thought the PS2 version was just fine. If I didn't know already that it was a bad game, I'd get the Wii version, but the only difference is the graphics and that's not enough for my money.

But now it's because I don't really care for the TLOS series anymore because so many people wanna argue over small details they have no control over.
It takes what little joy there is on waiting to play it, but when people criticize it because it didn't go their way, (Storyline, character design..etc.) they unleash HELL to others on the internet that DO like the game. Why can't you just get dealt with thrown at you?

Yes, it is defitanly worth getting. Think about it, free flight, play as both Spyro and Cynder. . .I was sooo excited when I got the game, but now I don't play it as much coz I've like completed it so many times. But I do play it every once and a while, when I feel like it.

Well, yes I think the game is better then the other TLOS games, but once you buy it,beat it, get most of the bounses, upgrade all of the elments, there's not much left to do on it. And as far as I know, theres no secert levels or something once you get everything,so yeah, its okay to own, but just don't get it for full price.

Ok, I'll settle this once and for all:

If you have played and payed attention to The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning AND The Legend of Spyro: Eternal Night, you will then understand the story. You're completely lost without background knowledge. The gameplay in this game is slow and tedious after a while. There's about 10 or 11 levels, which can be completed in about 6-8 hours, which is really short, and the 100% status is only for hardcore Spyro fans and 360 Achievements.

Do NOT get the PS2 or Wii versions, the graphics are laughably bad if you do. Get it for either the PlayStaiton 3 or the Xbox 360, but try to get it for a cheap price, this game doesn't have much to its name...

Why can't the people who haven't played the game and think they might like it avoid the negatives if they don't wish to see them until they've formed their own opinion? Oh wait, they can and do. Why can't people who like the game ignore the people who don't (and vice versa) instead of trying to beat it into them that it's good for "insert reason that may only apply to one user"? Alas, that is a mystery that may never be solved.

The original poster was asking for legitimate opinions and got a lot of them from both sides. Some people think it's the greatest game ever and would pay double for it. Some thought it was decent and are okay with its asking price. Some thought it wasn't worth nearly what they paid. And some want their time and money back. All of those opinions got expressed here and it is up to the person who is reading them to sort them out.

As for not ever playing DotD because of the fans, XenoSpyro, why not? Just play the game yourself and see what you think. Maybe what everyone's been saying won't match up to your experiences at all. But you'll never know if you don't give it a try.
