Prologue

Leaves rustled around the forest as a dark red Dragon ran through the forest trying to avoid tripping over anything. The moon light shone through gaps in between the branches above him. The sound of owls and running water could be heard near by. He only hoped that he would make it in time, that he would get away before his fears became a reality. Closer. Closer. Closer. He could feel a cold breath on his neck as his spine shivered. He wanted to run, run away from it all. Deep down something was telling him to submit. To give in to it once and for all. The dark forest seemed to go on forever. He knew in his heart that he couldn't run forever. No matter how much it hurt he knew that one day he wouldn't be able to hide and one day it would all end. He could almost see the end of the trees but he feared that he would forever be running, forever running away from his fears.

Chapter I

Spyro and Cynder both walked through the grass field as the suns rays shone down on them. The shadow of Malefor was gone forever. Spyro looked up at the sky with a smile on his face. Cynder hadn't seen him smile for a long time, long before Malefors return to the world. He turned his head to face Cynder as they both closed their eyes and leaned their heads towards eachother. "Small world isn't it?" Said a familair voice from the distance. Spyro opened his eyes and look around to find a small glowing Dragonfly flying behind him. "Good to see you Sparx." He said slightly annoyed that he had interupted them. "Hey, don't mind me. Just came to say hi after oh well, you know, the whole world being destroyed and all!" He said flying up to Spyro. Spyro glaired at him. "Almost destroyed... And anyway, this will be the only time I'll get to spend with Cynder. She helped too, she deserves it after everything that she's had to go through." Spyro said whispering to Sparx. He looked at Spyro with wide eyes. "Oh, you mean. You two are?" He whispered back. Spyro nodded. "And I'd apriciate it for now if you didn't tell the others."

Sparx nodded as he flew away. Spyro turned around to face Cynder again until he heard Sparx yell his name from behind him. "What!" He yelled back beginning to get annoyed. Sparx waved goodbye to the two Dragons as his glowing body flew away. Cynder smilied at Spyro as she gave a slight giggle. "Don't worry, he won't tell anyone..." Spyro whispered trying not to laugh himself. Spyro and Cynder once again closed their eyes as Cynder leaned her neck forwards so that her black beck pressed against Spyros mouth. Spyro could sence there was something wrong with Cynder. "No more darkness, no more evil, no more shadow. We're safe..." Spyro said. Cynder shook her head as she sighed. "Its not that. Its just... I can't do this, the guilt is with me everyday. The guilt of what I did, I can't ignore that." Cynder said as a tear tricked down from her eye. Spyro lowered his head as he spoke to her. "Cynder, I can forget. I love you and nothing will change that." Spyro said smiling at her. Cynder couldn't look up at him and whispered. "I'm sorry Spyro... For everything..."
