Now, I'm hoping I don't fail on this one.
Anyways, this is pretty much the story of my fan dragons Grindon and Redfire.

Grindon+Redfire: That's us!

*nodds* Yes. These two guys live with a colony of dragons in a small valley up in the Jerrall Mountains. It's pretty foggy there 24/7.
Grindon and Redfire are basically siblings: Childhood friends since they were born, thirteen years ago. They're pretty much the same as all the other teenage dragons; except Grindon. Most of the dragons in his colony shun him, all except his parents and Redfire. Why is this? Tell 'em, Grindon.

Grindon: Because I, sadly, do not have wings.

That's right. He was born without wings. He has dealt with being the pinnacle of everyone's bullying for thirteen years now, and finally has a chance to change it all.


This...is his story.

Alright then.


Prologue

"Let this meeting come to order!" The first Elder dragon roared.
The dragons in the room went silent in an instant. "Thank you. Now, we all know of how the Great Prophecy speaks of a dragon, just like us, who will save us all from the terrible threat posed by the Spirit Stealer," The dragons in the room flinched at his title, "and his minions." The Elder finished.
"The last Wingless Dragon in the wild!" A second Elder added.
The first Elder nodded. "Solstrum, our scout, has informed me that he has found him." From a corner in the room the scout, Solstrum, acknowledged himself with a curt nod. "He says that he lies in a valley in the Jerrall Mountains, far to the North."
The dragons muttered to themselves in astonishment. Most dragons are afraid of the North, and the dangers it poses.
"Solstrum has agreed to return to the Jerrall Mountains and fetch him." The Elder continued.
"But will they get back here in time?" A question was thrown from the back of the room.
The Elder drew a long, deep sigh. "That, my friends, is in the hands of the Gods. May they watch over us all. Meeting adjourned."

Alright, let's continue:

Chapter 1

Hi, there. My name is Grindon. Oh, don't look at me like that! Yes, I'm a dragon, but you don't see ME silently screaming for my mommy looking at YOU, do you? Then again, I can easily gobble you up, can't I little human?


Never mind. Yes, I'm a dragon. Yes, my colony and I live high up in the Jerrall Mountains. YES I don't have wings. Don't you think I realize this already?


"Grindon! Get up! You need to be ready for your first day of high school!"


That would be my mother. First day of high school ALREADY?!


Oh, and yes, obviously we dragons do have school as well. Where else do you think we learn how to fly, hunt, defend ourselves, etc., etc?


I crawled out of my nest of leaves and twigs and stretched. School's gonna be a drag I thought immediately. Might as well get going.


Slowly, I dragged myself out of my room, and into the kitchen. Looks like mother was feeling nice enough to hunt for me today, so I wasn't late for my first day.


Ugh.


"Thanks, Mom." I mumbled. Slowly I started to chew at the food, a deer, who was dumb enough to fall even into my mother's own claws.


My mother is a very clumsy hunter, and of course, with my luck, I inherited her clumsiness myself.


I finished breakfast, just in time for my mother to push me out the door with a parting "Good luck, honey."


Looking up, I saw the other freshmen dragons flying to their first days at high school. Great. I thought. I'm not even to high school yet, and already I don't fit into the crowd.


Yes, flying without wings isn't exactly easy. Leaving my thoughts behind, I sprinted to follow the group.

Woah. That's awesome. Can't wait for Chapter 2! ^.^
