In spite of all the terrible things you hear about some people's behaviors both on and offline, some of us know how to mind our manners. This award recognizes the person who never hesitates to say "please," or "thank you." I would make a witty comment here, but I respect polite people and will refrain from my usual bout of terrible, tasteless jokes. ...Greg is informing me that my jokes actually taste like chicken. Fascinating!

Some scientists say being kind and being polite go hand in hand. However, I disa-... actually I think they're spot on with that assumption. And here's a perfect example of that. Perhaps it's because she just seems to ooze patience.

I'm getting a serious sense of deja vu here from the Yoshi Award. Perhaps this is indicative of a certain trend I not-so-subtly pointed out in thumper's blurb. Nah, it couldn't be.

Sky Airglow
In spite of multiple shipping jokes getting hurled in her direction, she's managed to keep a pretty level head and is still very respectful toward others. Even the ones trying to ship her. For the record, I charge a very decent rate to ship to the Mediterranean.

Perhaps the oldest member to get this nomination. There are plenty of examples of users who, after being here several years, just decide, "Screw it!" and start messing with everyone because they think it's funny. Spoiler alert: it isn't. Thankfully, wspyro does not fit that description. Sure, there are some occasional bouts of snark here and there, but they're usually at times when everyone else is whining too.

thumper! Oh, hey, surprise, the Yoshi Award winner took this one as well. Perhaps this is indicative of a not-so-subtle statement I made in Bash's blurb about a not-so-subtle trend I mentioned in thumper's blurb. I guess we'll never know.

wspyro! I can hear the audience's protests already. I'll be honest with this one, guys, I mostly considered the users I mentioned earlier: long-time members who still treated everyone with a decent amount of respect and patience. And several of the people I had considered had A) major slip-ups this year, B) just didn't interact with enough members for me to get a good feel or C) aren't active enough on the forums in general (e.g. dark52). So with that said, wspyro is good to users both new and old unless you really cross the line. Definitely a winner in my books.

The Sonic: Lost World Award
Gimmicks. We see them everywhere in the media. Platformer games of the Mario and Sonic variety particularly thrive on them. And this one was probably the most gimmick-filled game I played this year. Which is why it has the honor of being the namesake for this award which recognizes a fanatical user who is a one (or multi) trick pony. Bonus points if we're all sick of the tricks. Hey, that rhymed! ^.^

Joining an online community for the first time can initially start off... awkwardly. Case in point: yours truly. In the first six months here and I was one "STAHP BUMPING TOPICZ" post away from the banhammer. And then I became hyperactive and finally turned in the crazy idiot hosting a silly awards topic. So let's celebrate the users who have taken the time to try to improve their behavior, shall we?

We've come a long way from, "What's a Muslim?" and blaming EVERYTHING on your mysterious "brother" that I'm still not even 88% convinced is real. Sometimes showing some restraint and not posting every thought that comes to mind can be helpful. I think Ash learned that lesson well. Either that, or she's hitting puberty and we should all panic. *heads for the bomb shelter*

Initially rather intimidated by other members, she's warmed up now. And by that I mean she's not afraid to lash out at other people. Including in this very topic. A good ol' round of fisticuffs with assassinelf. (And in the even I got the gender wrong again, d'oh I missed!)

There was a brief period where HCI started to become a little less self-absorbed and entitled. But, in all honesty, it was brief. While I don't find anything he does that big of a deal, he's been acting worse since when he joined. Intentionally trying to ruffle people's feathers is never a good idea. Especially when you're the one who's likely to end up on the losing end of any internet scuffles.
