"So, if we're gonna be traveling together, we need to work as a team." Miles said, thinking of some ideas he could suggest.

"Agreed." Said Alyx.

"So, what should we do first?" Miles said, lying down in the grass.

"Find food, definitely. Want me too?" asked Alyx, wincing in pain at her broken leg.

Delgato reached the desert.
"I don't need her. I don't care about her." he growled as he walked.

Bryan started to dig through the backpack. Maybe he could find a few useful things in there.

Micky sat on the long limb of a tree, thinking about what to do next. "It's boring being a loner. Sometimes I miss the action, but I still made the right choice. But sometimes I wonder... Could things have been different if I stayed?"

OOC: Delgato is a wanderin. She could surely travel with him.

Delgato studied the land ahead of him.
"Surely if I keep going I'll find the Outlands." he said.

"No." Miles said. "You are obviously in too much pain. I'll find it." Miles stated with a smile. He got off the ground, dusting himself off and rubbing his eyes.

"Are you sure? Just because I'm injured doesn't mean I can't help." Alyx said stubbornly.

"Really. Take your time off." He said assuringly. "I can do this."

"Alright, but if you're gone too long I'll get worried." said Alyx.

"I'll try to come back soon." Miles said honestly. He set off to find something to hunt. He also realized how torn and tattered his shoes were. As he stepped over some rocks, one of his shoes was torn completely.Maybe I can make a moccasin or something out of some animal skin. He thought to himself.

Alyx sighed as Miles walked away.
"Now I just feel lame and useless. I'm going to go find water. Then I can do something useful." She said.

Miles walked a bit further, keeping a keen eye out for some animals. He spotted a deer in the distance, eating some berries. Miles slowly pulled his dagger out, crouching slightly. He aimed his dagger right at the leg, hoping to render one of it's limbs useless. When the knife was thrown, it hit in the leg of the mammal, but still not where Miles had hoped. The deer was slowed down significantly though. Slowed down enough for Miles to catch it. After he was sure it was dead, he carried it back to the spot where he left Alyx.

Alyx had headed off to gather roots and water in a small canteen. She limped toward a small lake and gathered the water before finding a few berry bushes with berries she knew were safe to eat. She gathered them with some roots before returning to camp to see Miles with the deer.
"I felt lame, so I went to do something useful." she said to him, setting down the supplies.

"It's fine, as long as you're okay." Miles said with a smile. He put the deer down and began to get all the meat out. After that was finished, He cut a small section of the deer's skin, so he could make a moccasin.

"What's with the deer hide? You sewing a new fashionable outfit?" teased Alyx with a smile.

Miles laughed. He glanced up at Alyx, blushed, and quickly looked back at his uncompleted moccasin.

Alyx smiled and stood painfully. She had seen Miles blush, and it had caused her to blush as well.
"Want me to get fire wood? It looks like you're really busy with your fashionable shoes." She asked with another smile.

"Well sure. If it's not too much trouble of course." Miles said, parting the hair from his eyes. He almost had his moccasin finished.

"I don't care about my leg. I just want to do something helpful." Said Alyx and she limped off.

Miles sighed. He finished his moccasin, trying it on a little bit. It really was crude and obviously poorly crafted.

Alyx gathered enough wood and brought it back to Miles. She chuckled at his finished moccasin.
"You want me to make you one? I know how to sew. And it will get me off my leg." she said.

"Sure." Miles said with a smile. "I'll start making the fire." He said.

Alyx smiled and sat down with some deer hide and a needle and string. She started to thread the needle, then she began to sew. Her nimble fingers worked quickly and she soon finished putting together a nicely crafted pair of moccasins.
"Here." She said, handing them to Miles.

"Thanks." Miles said. He worked on the fire, striking some matches. A small ember arose from the fire wood, and soon it became a massive fire. Miles smiled and sat down about 10 feet from the fire.

"Good fire. Can you cook the meat, or do you want me to try?" Asked Alyx teasingly with a smile.

"I'm not much of a cook, but I'll give it a try." Miles said with a chuckle. He built a spit and started cooking it. "Do you want it rare or well done?" He asked Alyx.

"Well done." said Alyx with a smile. "You're probably better than me." she added.

"Nah, I'm not." Miles said with a grin. As he finished cooking the meat, he cut it up into two pieces. "Dinner is served." He said, putting the meat on some broken glass. These would have to do as plates. Miles handed Alyx her portion, and he sat down next to her.

Alyx took the plate.
"Thanks." She said, looking up at the stars. The moon made her silver hair shimmer and gleam. She focused her light blue eyes on Miles.
"Where will we travel from here? Toward the Outlands?" She asked.

"I don't know and I don't care." Miles said, relaxing. He looked at Alyx.

Alyx blushed and looked away.
"Alright." She said shyly and quickly. She wanted to tell Miles that she really liked him, but just didn't have the guts to tell him.

Miles cleared his throat. "Something on your mind?" He asked, smiling at her.

Alyx's face reddened and she coughed a quick little cough.
"M-maybe." she said quickly.

Miles frowned. "Is something wrong? Are you hurt?" He quickly stood up.

"No, I'm not hurt. Just my leg." said Alyx. "It's something else."

Miles smiled. "Oh. You got me worried for a second." He laughed. "But what is this something else?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

Alyx sighed.
"I've wanted to tell you this since after we first met." she said. She focused her blue eyes on Miles. "Miles, I love you."
