Matilda nods.
"Family feud all circled around me. I'm the problem. The thing that causes all the trouble." she sighs before continuing. "I'm always gonna be that small weak runt."

Scott nodded and replied, "Hey, but now you've got the chance to live a better life." "You can put all of that behind you and move forward." "And besides, Trojan seems to at least care about you a little, right?"

Matilda shrugged.
"If you consider glaring at me the whole time caring. I can't seem to easily put everything behind me. It always comes back to haunt me."

"Well, I don't have an answer to that, except for maybe trying meditation, but I don't think it works." Scott replied.

Matilda whipped her head around to look at Scott.
"Meditation won't help me forget that I killed my father." she snapped.

Scott sighed and replied, "Okay, okay, I'm sorry." "I didn't know you killed your father." He paused and then said, "But I still don't think meditation works."

Matilda's ears drooped.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you. It's just those memories I wish I could leave."

"It's alright." Scott said. "I have terrible memories too, but I always try to focus on the good things in my life."

Matilda laughed.
"I wish I had some good things from my past but I don't. I guess the only good thing for me is right now. Meeting you."

"Meeting you has been the best thing that's happened to me for a long time." Scott replied. "It's nice to meet others after having been on my own for so long." "Sometimes it was hard for me to focus on the good times."

Matilda smiled shyly.
"Really? I'm the best thing that's happened to you?" she looks away. "I bet not."

"It's true." Scott replied. "Not long ago, I was having to run for my life almost every hour of everyday." "I was a lone, lonely loner with aloneness until I met you and everyone else."

Matilda laughed and then smiled. She rested her head against Scott's neck and sighed.
"I was a loner who traveled with nobody until I met you and everyone else. I don't feel like a part of me is missing anymore."

OOC: I might not reply for a few minutes.

OOC: I've got to go...... But it was a great RP tonight!

Scott nodded slowly. "I usually traveled alone because that dog pack was after me, but now I doubt I'll have to worry about them anymore."

OOC: Night! It was a great role play tonight!

Matilda looked at Scott.
"If they ever bother you, I'll be there to protect you."

"Thanks." Scott replied. He closed his eyes and laid his head on his paws, but did not sleep.

Lila opened her eyes and turned to look at Matilda and Scott. She smiled and went back to sleep, glad that they were both happy.

OOC: Sorry about being unactive!

"I'm Growl," the Bernese Mountain Dog snapped, already walking away.

Matilda sighed and rested he head on her paws, slightly leaning against Scott.
"You're welcome. I'll protect you till my last breath."

Scott smiled, eventually falling asleep.

Lila got up, stretched, and padded outside, taking with her some of the food that Matilda and Scott had found earlier.

Matilda's breathing was soft, and she was laying against Scott.

Alyx noticed Lila get up and she followed her.
"Hey. You okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine." Lila replied. "Just can't sleep." She took another bite out of the meat and asked Alyx, "You want some?"

Alyx nods and take a bite.
"Scott and Matilda. Did you notice how happy the two look? It makes me happy."

"Yes, it's nice to see them so happy." Lila replied. "Maybe there's hope for them yet."

Alyx chuckles and nods.
"I'm just glad Matilda's had a good moment in her life."

"Same with Scott." Lila said. "After all they've both been through, hopefully the happiness will last.'

Alyx nodded.
"I think it will last a long time. They get along well."

"Yes, they do." Lila replied taking another bite of the meat.

Alyx smiled.
"It's about time my cousin learned something other than the cold shoulder."

Apple and Goldfur were patrolling their territory.

"Yes, maybe she'll learn some kindness." Lila replied.
"How's Delgato holding up?" She asked.

Alyx nodded and smiled.
"Delgato's doing well. He's healing quickly. I never told you. Did you know Trojan is Matilda's brother?"

Moonlight saw a rabbit in front of Growl. She ran after it.

"No, I didn't know." Lila replied. "I never would have guessed, though."

Alyx nodded.
"It's hard to tell, but he's her older brother. It's why he's so hostile towards her."

"It's too bad." Lila replied. "It must be hard to live with a family like that."

Alyx nodded.
"Yeah. I mean, she was runt of the litter. Her parents hated her."

"If they hated her, why didn't she leave?" Lila asked.

"She did. But she killed her father. He wouldn't let her roam on her own since she was so young. They got in a fight and she killed him. Trojan hates her for that reason as well." Alyx said sadly.

"It must be terrible, living with that everyday." Lila replied.

OOC: My dog is trying to climb in a box. What the heck?!

Alyx nodded.
"Yeah. I hope she'll have a better life from now on, such a good life that she is able to forget the past."

OOC: I made a warriors RP! You can join if you want!

"That'd be nice if she didn't have to worry anymore." Lila replied.

Scott stirred a bit, but didn't wake up.

OOC: I joined IMMEDIATELY!

"Yes, it would." Alyx replied with a nod.

Matilda opened her purple eyes and blinked. She then nudged Scott.
"Hey, I want to show you something. Something beautiful." she said softly.

"What is it?" Scott said, stretching.

Matilda smiled.
"A surprise. Come on." she trotted out of the cave and took off toward a hill.

"Alright, I'm coming." Scott said, following Matilda.

Lila watched them as they left. "I wonder where they're off to." She thought aloud.

Alyx smiled.
"At this time, the sunrise always happens. Matilda loves sunrises."

Matilda waited for Scott to catch up, then she led him up the hill and sat down. She pointed with her muzzle toward where the sky was turning bright oranges, reds, and pinks, and the sun was beginning to rise.
"Thought you'd like to see this." she whispered.

"It's beautiful." Scott said, sitting next to Matilda. "I don't watch too many sunsets, but this is beautiful."

Matilda smiled.
"I loved watching sunrises as a pup. One of the only things I enjoyed about my past. I thought I should share the good memory with you."

"Thanks." Scott said. "At least there was one good thing in your childhood."

Matilda smiled.
"Yes, I guess so." she looks at him. "Was there ever a nice moment in your past?"
