ooc: The power of dumb luck?

"Of course not. You'll ruin the the flooring." Marrius states as she begins to unlock the door, "And I'd rather that my staff not pass out from gruesome sights. I have a hard enough time keeping able workers alive."

"Eh. Sounds reasonable. I hereonout swear to not tamper with he hemical makeup of any of your shoddy excuses for criminals."

Ooc: Something interesting; today, at school, my class had a grossly in-depth discussion on the affects of methamphetamine. Soon, we will reach the drug spewing mushroom field.

Marrius opens the door and stand to hold it for Sashe and Shadme. Compared to the deplorable exterior, the interior looks surprisingly warm and well decorated. "Thank you for leaving my patients alone, dear defiler."

"You are welcome, Puppet Master. So, where shall I be sleeping?" Sash asks. She then takes a quick glance at each section of the room they had entered.

Shadmé walked in as Rius held the door, taking a glance around herself. She didn't say anything, but her expectant expression implied she was awaiting the answer to Sashe's question as well.

Marrius closed the door before she pointed to the hall to the left. "Down there, second door on the left. You'll find a guest bedroom. Do not go in the basement. The privy is the door next to the one you'll be staying in. Should you hear any sounds that should concern you, ignore them. Should my staff invite you into the basement, politely decline."

The corner of Shadmé's mouth twitched amusedly at Rius' instructions, but the Aetian had no intention of violating Rius' trust and disobeying her. After all, this was Rius' house, Rius' country, and Shadmé had a pretty good idea of what would happen otherwise. "Understood. Thank you for the accommodations," she said curtly, dipping her head. She then moved down the hallway to the second door.

Sashe nods as politely as she can muster. She hated rules, for she always felt inclined to follow them. Plus, this was Rius's turf. She was much more frightened by this woman than she had been the Mind Eaters.

Marrius nods after observing that both had agreed to her terms. "Very well, if you need anything ask my staff. I'll inform them that they are to fetch you whatever it is you need within reason." She said before she headed down the hall to the right. She stopped at the door way, "Also, you should be aware that it's dangerous to wander the halls. Good night, Defiler. Dark Angel." Rius stated before she continued on her way.

Sashe hurriedly walked to her room. Her eyes were wide, and she had obviously troubled breathing pattern.

ooc: If marrius could have seen that, she would have laughed.

Simple room, two beds, some bookshelves. It's a little dusty. There's definitely a lot of sounds that go bump in the night.

OOc: Any mirrors?

ooc: Yea, there's a vanity with a mirror.

Ooc: Ok.

Sashe rushes over to the vanity, looking into the mirror. Pale, feminine features look into the mirror; however, a blood red, gnarled face look back at her. She backs away from the reflective surface. The elf then lays on her chosen bed, her heart pounding in her chest.

ooc: Dun Dun DUUUUUN! ... casually gonna wait for the time skip.

Shadmé followed Sashe into the guest bedroom. It took her a little longer, as Sashe had raced ahead of her. Not quite understanding, she walked in to see her companion staring at the mirror. She looked troubled, almost panicked. "Erm...Sashe?" Shadmé asked as she made her way over to her bed. By now, Sashe had gone to hers. "Something wrong?"

"Nothing! I'm fine!" she hastily responds, lying on her side. This place brought back bad memories. It, of course, was not the same place that had haunted her mind for the elf's entire life. But there were many similairities.

ooc: I wonder what happened to Sashe.

Ooc: Just so you know, Psyche characters can "listen" to dreams.

ooc: guess someone's gonna listen to some dream radio.

Marrius sits rather quietly in her room, laying in her bed. The thought of crossing those who traveled with her and making them into something new crossed her mind. However, she was content to play the game set infront of her. She smiled a little bit at that. For the first time in a long time she wasn't bored. She closed her eyes, "listening" to the dreams she could "hear". The basement consisted of mostly nightmares, although that didn't surprise her.

A small, younger Sashe rushes down a dimly lit hallway, a small wooden staff in her hand. She saw a door, and she hears voices coming from inside. "Darius Revrezki. I must admit, your will is strong. But even you can succumb to temptation..."

'Her father?' Marrius thought to herself as she listened, and a small smile came to her face. 'My, my, defiler! What kind of night terror are you reliving?'

The small girl heard her father screaming in agony. She slams the door open. A slender, handsome elf writhes on the ground, a tall human looming over his screaming body. The human turns toward the small girl, who yells, "Leave daddy alone! I'll hurt you bad!"

'You foolish insignificant little whelp.' Marrius thought in response as she listened, 'Screaming at the bad man never ends well.

The human smirks, and says, "I guess a daughter is as good as a father." As he says this, he throws a knife, which penetrates the skull of Darius Revrezki."

'But do you hurt him bad? Is that the road you went down?' Marrius wondered as she listened.

As she watches this, the small, trembling figure of Sashe stills. A deep, demonic voice rings out, "I told you you'd get hurt bad." Sashe then leaps forward, tearing out the throat of her father's murderer. Her hand then begins to pour out acid, which she shoves down his mouth.

Marrius sat for a moment in thought as she listened, her eyes opening to stare at the ceiling above her. Her smile widened slightly with a chuckle. Surely someone like that was worthy of being in her game. But she was still a pawn, a means to an end. Nothing more. Then again, there wasn't anyone who was above a pawn to her.

Sashe then begins to argue with aseemingly unseen force. Suddenly, a wrinkled, red-skinned demon of rage materialized before her. "I told you I would let you have the bad guys soul. Y-you can't have me. That w-was our deal."

Marrius sighed, shaking her head. "Stupid little girl." She muttered, her smile fading. "Of course the end of the story is predictable. How boring."

The demon nods, stating. "I don't take kids souls. Just not my thing." Before he leaves, howevr, he turns back to the girl. "You know the power you felt when you kille that Psyche spellweaver?" Sashe nods. "How would you like to feel that power all the time?"

Marrius stopped listening to the dream. She'd heard enough. She sighed, closing her eyes again. "Only fools make a deal with demons." She stated to no one before she went to sleep.

Ooc: And yush, she was a fool at that age. I feel no need to continue the dream from that point.

ooc: Yea, I figured. Imma wait for le time skip, now. :3

OOc: LEEEE TIIIIIIMEEEE SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP

Sashe awoke, her dreams having had a mood-dampening effect on her. Instead of the world being the oyster she was to fry, it was more like the world was a live cat she needed to bathe.

ooc: YEAHHH!

Marrius had woken early. She had already risen from her bed as well as dressed herself. After doing such tasks she headed down towards the room she had told her game pieces to stay in. With any luck, they wouldn't have wandered off and gotten locked in the basement by her staff. She stopped in front of the door, knocking twice to announce herself.

Ooc: Yes, the Dewl are people from Dewlaine. Just so you know, Vallhal is between Dewlaine and Psyche.

Marrius waits for on of her two guests to open the door.

OOc: I meant the Vallhal/Joton border. I'll make a map as soon as possible, sorry. We're going to travel through Psyche, then across the Vallhal/Joton border.

Sashe hears Rius's knock, and walks over to the door. She cautiously opens it, wondering wether or not now would be the time that she finally met the "staff". As she sees Rius, she thinks to herself, sadly not

"I trust you slept well, defiler." Marrius said in an almost mocking tone before she continued. "You should ready yourself for the day. I've informed my staff that someone is to ready horses and a meal for us." She stated.

ooc: bump!

Ooc: Yes.

Sashe felt there was significance in the womans mocking tone, but she could not figure out why it would be important.

The way Rius looked at Sashe was the way a cat observed it's prey, and with an all but outright smirk the elf asked, "Do you suffer from night terrors often? A shame really. The toll of such things on you really is quite apparent."

Sashe was obviously shocked by the Puppet Master's statement. "Stay out of my head. 'Tis not appreciated. But what did you say about horses?" The woman's demeanor was ha rapidly changed from shock, to anger, to excitement.

"I wasn't in your head, Defiler. You look as if you've been dragged through hell." Marrius stated. The fact that Sashe's reaction amused her was all too apparent, her lips pulling into a smirk. "Yes, horses. I'm having my staff acquire enough for us to travel."

ooc: Marrius, lying through her teeth because she likes messing with people.

"I very much doubt the truth in your words. Let's just get prepared to leave," Sashe snappily responds.

Marrius nods. "I'll go check on my staff's progress. I expect you'll be able to prepare yourself on your own." She said as she turned and left, heading towards the front door.
